Thanks everyone for your support. I get my third shot today and already I feel the relief. My left arm isn't swelling up anymore but still have a little pain in the shoulder. The info you all gave has helped greatly.

Thank you for your story of hope, I know God will bless without conditions and that He does answer prayer. Your post is an inspiration.

Don, glad to hear treatment is working. It is good news.

Happy birthday Donna and many many more to follow.

Welcome to the place no one wants to be. What a great story. Sorry the circumstances are what they are but to find what they have is very cool.
-
Welcome Bill, sorry you had to find us but as everyone has already stated, this is a great place for info and support.

Well, today I saw my ENT and got the results from the biopsy of my parotid gland.
Metastatic, moderatly differentiated necrotizing carcinoma to intraparotid lymph nodes (2 nodes).
Metastatic moderately differentiated necrotizing squamous cell carcinoma to lymph nodes adjacent to parotid gland (2 of 3 nodes).
Right parotid gland: No significant pathologic change.
Dr says a I will get low dose radiation once I heal in a couple of weeks.
After I left him , I noticed my left arm swell up when I used it for even the smallest task. Went saw my primary, he odered a ultrasound, found blood clot in left upper chest. Sent me to my onc, started me on lovenox injections and warfarin tablets. Said this is not uncommon with cancer patients, especially after surgery. Said once they get the warfarin level right I will probably be on it for the rest of my life. Thay are also setting up more scans and test. Has anyone else had blood clot problems?

Quote from another site:
Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its troubles, it empties today of its strength.
My quess and believe me this is an unqualified quess and hope. Sounds like you got a scare which caused you to take a close look at your health and made some good choices to improve it. I would see a dr and express your concerns and let him run the tests to relieve your mind. I pray that you found this site by overconcern. Thats just my thought.

Another belated Happy Birthday Curtis.

I had the same chemo and my blood counts also went down and was given neuopogen. Aside from some lower back pain everything came back to normal. The pain was associated with drug working, it only lasted a short time.

Melinda and Don, please accept my condolences and prayers for comfort and peace.

My prayers also that the treatment turns everything toward the good.

Phyllis, very sorry to hear your having so many problems. I also was dxed with head and neck in 2002 and am beginning to develope other problems. I pray that they find the right combination of things to improve your situation.

Why couldn't they just promote all cancer research, seems shortsighted to me.
