  1. Hello Margret. You have come to a good place. You will find many friendly folks here who have gone through the same as you and who will have some good advice for you. Hang in there Margret!

  2. In October 2000 I received a call telling me my mammogram looked suspicious and I should have a biopsy done to be sure. It drove me crazy even knowing that. Just to let you know, I eventually did have a lumpectomy done as they found cancer that was still within the cell, and I have been found to cancer free now for four years. Even if it turns out not so good news, remember there is much success now in this department.

    Wishing you the best,

  3. Joni, All the folks who posted above have great wisdom. And this all happened too fast for you. What a shock. But you know what? You can go on and you will, and you will have him with you everyday. I promise you, his spirit will be with you and you will know it too. I know this from when I lost my Mom, and I am bracing myself for if my hubbie should go before me. I think having children is what will help me in the end. I am so sorry.

    Much love, Cyndy

  4. Hi there. Karen is right. There is much that can be done to help your Mom. I know our own children went through what you are at this point when I had to tell them their Dad had lung cancer. Many of us on this board are going through the same thing , so you are not alone.

Thinking of you and your Mom on Tues.

  5. I tried to blame second hand smoke on my own interstitial lung problem (caused most likely by my RA) as my husband smoked in our house for over 40 years. No one knows the answer.

I found it interesting that where I live the hospital lab folks asked questions, but didn't even consider second hand smoke. I'm the one who had to bring it up. Yet where my daughter lives the doctors showed more concern when asked about it. I am thinking that it depends on where you live whether second hand smoke is considered a threat or not by the medical community.
