kreed70 Posted September 12, 2005 Share Posted September 12, 2005 Hi everyone~ My mom is getting scanned tomorrow 9/13/05. Her onc. appointment isn't until 9/20/05 but the last scan that showed something in July, he called as soon as he got the results. I am not sure what to make of this. Do they always call w/ bad news right away? I've only seen it a few times on here. If it is bad news again and he doesn't call, we'll think everything is good until he tells us at her 9/20 appt. In our experience, when mom's counts were off or her coumadin levels were off, they would call immediately. Usually with her scans, they call right away too. For you, I hope you get to wait! Kasey Posted September 13, 2005 Share Posted September 13, 2005 You know I am always thinking about and praying for your mom. You understand exctly why too!!!! Here's hoping all will be good. As far as calling right away....when I went for my initial chest x-ray I had the call by the time I got home from the scan. The same thing happened the next day when I had the CT scan - called right away. Now I don't know about these followup ones. I go to NIH and have a day and sometimes a day and a half of tests. Then the very next morning my surgeon has all the results. Guess I am no help at all. Please let us know as soon as you do. I, for one, will be vigilant looking for your post. cindi o'h Posted September 13, 2005 Share Posted September 13, 2005 Peggy (stand4hope) calls this scanitis. All of us get it to some degree. Some of the times it is better than others. Try to stay busy and out of the way if you can. It is what it is. Prayers for your comfort. I have been there, I know how awful our minds can treat us...
