Heather_T
Is it ok to drink Green Tea and I also have a Bedtime Tea for sleeping because I can not sleep at night. Do any of you drink different teas and is it ok? Thanks for your help. Heather_T
Don M
I don't rally know for sure Heather, but my onc told me to stay away from antioxidant supplements. So then I asked him if I could eat my blueberries and blackberries and he said yes, that the data only applies to artificial antioxidants. don M
hockeyma
Hi Heather My husband drinks green tea and he also drinks essiac tea - and these were both ok'd by our chemo department Let me know what you are drinking for sleeping - cause he has a hard time with it - he has sleeping pills but they don't seem to last more than four hours. Ry
I drink a lot of tea-- Celestial Seasonings makes a good tea called "Sleepy-time" and the mint and chamomile teas are good for evening too. Some green teas contain caffeine so you have to watch for that. I cannot drink any green tea because there is something in it that puts my heart into a-fib. Linda661
Heather: Teas, in general, are wonderful; green tea is known for lots of useful properties (I love the stuff and drink it myself a lot). I would encourage you, however, to cover this with your own onc. just to be safe. Linda
Anais
Rochelle, do you know the substance name in green tea that makes you a-fib? I'm just curious. Thanks, Anaïs
Ry
Anais-- I don't. I just know that every time I drink it my heart starts up- beating real fast. After the 3rd time to the doctor I finally put it together. It's not the caffeine- I drink a lot of that.

ursol
The dietician told me no supplemental antioxidants during chemo but natural antioxidants are fine. I eat alot of dark greens. I've assumed that green tea is a natural antioxidant so I have kept drinking it. Lilly
