Ann Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Which would you rather have??? A job you love that pays less OR A job you hate that pays more Quote
lilyjohn Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 I think that is an easy one. I was a caregiver and believe me that is at the bottom of the pay scale. Still I loved what I did and felt I could make a difference. Quote
Ann Posted March 27, 2008 Author Posted March 27, 2008 Right now, with $$$ such an issue for me, I would have to choose the second one and go for the money. Believe me, most of my life I have tried to have a job I love but now, although I'm not picky, I am thinking more about the $$$. Quote
dchurchi Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 As I have done both I can honestly say I would take less and work at a job I love. I worked 7 years at a job I hated . Not worth it. Quote
Kasey Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 It would depend, of course, on if I could get along with the less $$$$. If it would be a major struggle, I would have to for the $$$$. Kasey Quote
Ry Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I think it's important to love what you do-- so I would adjust to the money issue. Quote
Patti B Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I absolutely LOVE the job I have right now - and it really doesn't pay $$ at all - being my son's Mom!! Patti B Quote
JB Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 First question: Why can't I have both? You're right, this isn't dream world John. 3 years ago, I would have said show me the money, or money talks or some other stupid cliche. Today, Give me enough to pay the bills, give me something that I truly enjoy and feel fulfilled with, somehow, making sure the Gov't gets it taxes isn't cutting it for me, and some freedom to spend more time at home with Jack and Col, and you got yourself an employye for life.
