rakwel
Hi,Everyone, Well I had my first chemo treatment two weeks ago and ended up in the hospitle for nine days. I got a neutropenic fever which just knocked me to my knees. I'am on the mend and feeling so much better.I start raditiion on monday for three weeks plus back on the chemo.I wasn't ready to get that sick but I guess no one could be ready for that. My chemo Doc says with the next treatment he will give me a shot of neulasta which should help with the side effects. The reason I didn't get it this first time is over the insurance co.There thinking that they know I'll end up back in the hospitle so now it's cheaper to give the shot{$7,000}then put me back in the hospitle it seems to come down to money vrs health care.Wich is kind of sad.Hope everyone is doing fine. Please send me prayer if you think about it. Welthy
Hi Bill, Wow -- sorry to hear about this rough cycle. Not quite the norm, for sure! Hope the next one goes smoother with the Neulasta. Best wishes, Welthy
Shelley (MLC)
Hi Bill, sorry to hear how things went with the first chemo. Typical of the insurance companies....wait to see what benefits THEM the most. Anyway, my mom receives neulasta with each chemo and has done very well. I hope your next treatment goes much more smoothly. Shelley
SandraL
Hi Bill. Sorry to hear about your chemo experience. Not sure what "stage" you are at but my advice is to do whatever you can to get through the radiation as I know with me that was the big ticket treatment. Hang in there. fillise
So sorry hear about the hospitalization. The Neulasta shot does wonders. Mom had one aver every chemo and her blood counts were always good. I hope you have the same result! Susan
Patti B
Bill- Sorry the first chemo was so rough on you. Hope the successive ones go better. Neulasta shots can really help with blood counts - just be aware that you may get some bone pain the first few days after the shot!!
