Janet B Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Today marks the 6 year anniversary of my diagnosis. 6 years ago today I was told I was seeing my last Christmas. 6 years ago today I went home from the hospital, googled lung cancer and my whole world went black. 6 years ago today, I sat in my dark bedroom and cried. Today, I shopped, baked, vacuumed, and am headed out to a party. God bless my doctors, God bless Lungevity. It has been a rough year health wise, but it has been a year! Merry Christmas and Peace to you all! Quote
dianew Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Janet - that is absolutely amazing! What an inspiration, especially to those whose doctors are not of the optimistic sort. Congratulations!! Enjoy the party. Quote
eric byrne Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Hi Janet, Congratulations on your six years, gosh, although I have just passed my four years of survivorship in October last I so remember in 2008 being told by my lung nurse and my GP I had only two years to live, max.Its such a pleasure to me to be still here and able to respond to you,may we be all blessed with many more years to continue our "conversations".It was a pleasure to meet you last May at the Hope Summit in WashingtonDC,with luck something we can repeat. Best Wishes for the Festive Season, may 2013 prove to be a vintage year for all of us. Quote
