Tom,
I'd just like to wish you well and for quick answers. I know how hard the waiting game is. Just finished it myself this week. Try to keep occupied with something you really enjoy.

Lori,
It's just wonderful that your mom is home and you're able to enjoy all of these wonderful times together.
You're a great daughter and I'm sure your mom is just so happy.
All your hard work did pay off.

Thanks for all the good wishes. Ry, Tarceva is one of the chemos that my doctor mentioned. I know that it usually works better if you are a "never smoked" person, which is not me, so I don't know?? He's also mentioned altima, gemzar and vinorelbine as possibilities.
Never heard of the last one.

Went for an MRI on my spine because I've been having pain in my right leg. I had recently been given great results on my CT scan of lung (Stable).
It seems that the metastisis to my sacrum has grown and is pressing on nerves, sending lots of pain down my leg.
I saw the radiologist today and will be doing 10 days of radiation and then off to the oncologist to decide either on a new round of chemo or a clinical trial. They are also going to radiate a spot on my spine that grew very slightly.
This also means no more Avastin.
Oh well, maybe this time I won't lose my hair??? I finally had my first haircut!
Thanks for listening.

I can't even think. I'm just heartbroken and devestated. I pray Keith is not in pain and you have strength to get through.

Its taken me almost a week to be able to write this post. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of you both. I'm just so dam angry at anyone who would dash Keith's hopes. I hope that he has gotten his spirit back since that day.
I do believe in miracles.

So happy for you both. The chemo and radiation should also make a big difference, once you're through. Make sure bf drinks a LOT of LIQUIDS It's very easy to become dehydrated. We're all here for you along the way if you need more tips.
Take care.

Hi Liz,
I too was given that "grim" diagnosis almost 14 months ago. I know that doesn't sound that long, but when you've been told "nothing we can do", or 3-6 months, Wow, it's a lifetime. I also feel great and plan to continue doing so for a long time.
Best wishes and get your fighting gloves on!!!

What Happened????

Went for my first radiation treatment and that evening I fell ill. I had picked up some seafood salad and it did taste kind of funny, but boy!! Started to throw up immediately after. Went for my second radiation treatment on Friday. Nurses had me drink some ginger ale and eat some crackers. On to the treatment.
Before I got home, I made my husband stop the car because I was so sick.
Well, I wound up in the hospital dehydrated and sick to my stomach. Noone really knows if it was the seafood or the radiation, a combination or even all my pain meds.
I just got home (now Sunday evening). Wondering if anyone else ever had this kind of reaction to radiation that was not near the head?
Thanks guys,
Joan
