  5. Hi Mary, Welcome. Stage 1 does give you a great chance for a cure. Find put what procedure they intend to use. Recovery from surgery will depend on whether you have a VATS procedure as Bruce did in the previous post or a thoracotomy. The recovery for VATS is much quicker than if you need a thoracotomy. I had the latter in May 07 to remove my right lower lobe. I was stage 1A. I was in the hospital for 6 days and off work for almost 6 or 7 weeks. Good Luck,
  6. My condolences to Jill's family & friends. What an amazing young woman.

    3 Years

Hi Everyone, Exciting week for my family & many prayers have been answered!! My son, Todd, received great MRI results earlier this week. 4 1/2 years since his diagnosis, surgery, radiation and a year of chemo and he has been released from care at Henry Ford's Brain Tumor Center. AMAZNG!!! Yesterday I got my CT scan results. Stable! No lung cancer and the darn inflammation (sarcoid) I have had for a few years now is finally now under control.... 3 years cancer free & no more prednisone. And very exciting is that I have graduated to scans every 6 months instead of 3. YEAH!! I am having some nasty prednisone withdrawal symptoms, but my labs are OK so my choices were to go back on the stuff so they go away which would make me feel better or to deal with them. I chose to deal. Many thanks for all your support. Love to you all,
  12. Thanks Everyone, Ends up she knew about the presetation at the ASCO meeting and sent me Dr. West's post.
  13. Has anyone ever heard of Crizotineb? A friend wsith NSCLC may enter a phase II trial. I have never heard of it and nothing comes up when I google it. Thanks, BarbVH
