    2:30 a.m.

Sorry about the rough nite Dave. Hey we should start a 2:30 am club here. Whoever is up at that hour.can check in with other middle of the nite musers. Well a bit difficult to schedule with time changes etc....maybe make it 2:30 this site's time. Bet there might be some real interesting conversation in the middle of the night. All us crazy people, only half awake! Have a good night's sleep tonight. Take care Sandra
  3. hey Linda. Don't ever feel embarassed. And the good news, you've still got shopping right? Can never take that away!
  4. Krsiti. My heart goes out to you. You have gone above and beyond in helping your parents with so very little support or understanding from anyone. I can quite believe that you have had it. Do what you need to do for yourself. Others will not understand but please don't let that bother you. Find a job and get out...let someone else take over for awhile..see what it is like to walk a mile in your shoes. It won't be easy and it will probably take you some time, so be patient. You have been through so much already, you can do this too! Take good care Sandra
  5. My heart goes out to you and your family Karla at this difficult time. God bless and peace be with your husband. Sandra
  6. Judy. You have been given a gift to go away and enjoy nature for a nice long well deserved vacation. The gift hopefully comes along with being so fully engaged in the beauty that you can have moments, hopefully hours of forgetting you have cancer. That is my wish for you. Enjoy. We will miss you and we will fill you in when you get back. Fondly Sandra
  7. Oh Renate. My heart goes out to you and all you are going through. The pain docs at cancer clinics should be able to help though. It is all about finding your "breakthrough" meds as I learned when going through severe back pain for spine mets. I hope you get some relief soon. It just sucks big time that nice people like you have to suffer. Hang in there and take good care Sandra
  8. Hi Matt. Yes this all does sound pretty preliminary even that it is lung cancer. I hope it isn't. If it is, it does seem strange re no chemo. Chemo doesn't work on the brain though I am pretty sure, so only radiation and surgery is possible there. If docs are positive about treating though, I sure wouldn't make any assumptions about what you are dealing with just yet. I hope you find out soon though. The waiting at the beginning is very hard. And then once you know what you are dealing with and on to a treatment plan, it does get somewhat easier. Keep us posted. Take care Sandra
  9. Great to here everything went well Kellly. You should recover from that media fairly quickly. It hasn't touched any nerves so easier than the thora thing. Keep it clean though and if you are on pain meds go and buy a bottle of Senokot and start taking them. Trust me you do not want to deal with constipation. Keep us posted and take good care Sandra
  10. I will leave the scientific research to you then Carole. I am just an accountant and even at that can't keep track of the statistics we have gathered here. Guess if you are going to research it though we should encourage others to chime in. Got to make sure we have a statistically valid sample. yours in research, together we can beat this thing, I will try to think of some other crazy questions Sandra
  11. Yeah for stable Patti!!!! (for your cancer anyhow!!) I have just opened the pub and there is a nice chilled bottle of white zinf awaiting you. And a nice warm hot tub for your feet. Don't you like my pub, it has a hot tub. You go girl....this is awesome news! Continued good results and an awesome summer Sandra

    Please help

hey there. I think a CT scan in 3 months time is quite reasonable. Radiation keeps working for many months. I hope the results are great. Keep us posted and congrats on the new grandchild. Take care Sandra
  13. My thoughts are with you and your mom Dar. Take care during this difficult time. Sandra
  14. Thanks for your thoughts eYuppie and welcome to this site. Some of your work thoughts definitely ring true for me. The ones about getting your normal life back and not wishing you had worked harder. We look forward to getting to know you better. Feel free to post your medical history in your profile. You add it in as your signature. Sandra
  15. Linda. My sincere condolenses on the coffee, the wine and the chocolate! but am glad you are on the path to getting this figured out.
  16. Well honestly, it was a serious question at the beginning of the day when I posed it. Then all heck broke loose! But at least it has provided me a good chuckle on what otherwise has turned out to be a very bad day. Maybe someone in charge around here can move this now to where it should be, in the just for fun forum! Cause I am guessing there ain't no science to it. What the heck. Perhaps I should keep my future random thoughts (haven't a clue what side of the brain the strange ones come from) to myself!
  17. And I'm right handed, left brain then (obviously not the scientific side of the brain) and left lung impaired! I am sure someone smart like Randy maybe will be along shortly to set us all straight! It just seemed to me that most people I have read about had left lung issues first. But I was obviously quite wrong as missed you two very important people!
  18. Hi Kelly. So sorry to hear you had a tough week. Don't ever feel bad about not being able to respond here. We all have our days and weeks. Good luck with your procedures tomorrow. The bronchosopy is fairly easy to recover from. The media a bit trickier but I am sure you will do fine and are in good hands. Take care and thanks for the update Sandra
  19. Tell us about something you were really good at and enjoyed doing growing up? Were you strong at school, good at a particular sport or other extracurricular activity? Better yet, tell us about something you were maybe not so good at but had fun trying!
  20. Wow Denise. You have so much on your plate. I hope she is feeling a bit better now. I am with the others, a swift slap up side the head...maybe a verbal one...but well deserved regardless.
  21. Hi Dar. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I hope your mom gets some pain relief soon. Take care Sandra
  22. Hey there Judy. For sure, the mental part can be tougher than the physical part at times. And the fear comes from the mental part. We all need to find our own way to work out the fear. It will never go away completely but it is certainly no way to live from moment to moment. Finding things to fill our day with joy and humor is certainly part of it. Our minds are very powerful and I think we can "train" them if we "want" to, to have thoughts other than the fear of cancer. Way easier said than done for sure. Another important thing for all of us I think is peace of mind with ourselves and with all of those in our lives that we care about. If there is anybody we need to make peace with then we should do that. Forgive, forget and move on. That includes ourselves. This will also help us live and love more fully on a daily basis. Our peace of mind will also come from making sure we follow up on any physical symptoms and making our own personal informed choices re treatment options. Those are just my "musings" of what I think you may be getting at. For what they are worth. Have a joyful day Sandra
  23. good Monday morning everyone! I hope the sun is shining in all your corners of the world. This thought occurred to me over the weekend (and many others..but I will keep it to this one!) Is it just me, or does LC seem to start more often in the left versus the right lung? I have never read that anywhere but it seems to me that is the case for most people here. And if so, why is that? I did not pay much attention to anatomy lessons in high school, but from what I can remember, both lungs work similarly? Although I do know there is some difference with the left lung to leave room for the heart. Just curious...I bet someone here knows the answer to this. thanks Sandra
  24. Hey Lily. Thanks for the Monday morning smile! It doesn't get any easier, but it always gets better! They are such high energy for so many years...but their cuteness makes up for it! Enjoy every minute of it. Hope you have a great week Sandra
  25. Hey Linda. I am not any help. But I am thinking about you and praying you get this figured out. Hope the sun is shining in sunny Alberta. It is a lovely day here. Take care Sandra
