It was nice to see our Canadian rocker boy Brian Adams do a song with David. Now I get to look forward to Canadian Idol!! Do you guys in states get to see that at all? We have had some good talent in the past as well.

Hi Gracie. I am sorry to hear your latest news. You, your sister and your family have been through so much in such a short time. Never give up hope though, I saw some inspirational posts here that she can get through this too...whisper to her to keep fighting! Take care you are in my prayers. Sandra

    Neuraphaty

Hi Renate. In last few weeks I have also developed this side effect as well as pain in spine due to mets there. My neuropathy is from etoposide or so I was told. So I know how awful it is and share your pain. I cannot even put on normal shoes anymore and my hands fall asleep at will. I wasn't given any info on what to do about those aches and pains but have been given morphine for spine pain. I like you will only take it at night and have even given up on that as find it doesn't make a huge difference and why bother. So thanks for posting this and hopefully others will have some tips to deal with. This LC thing sure ain't for wimps! Take care Sandra
  9. Hi Liza. My prayers are with you and your family at this time. May peace be with your dad. It is so hard to watch your loved ones suffer. Take care of each other Sandra

  12. Hi Jen. Yes, you have been given a wonderful blessing. So nice to hear. Continued best wishes Sandra
  13. I am sorry to hear that Denise. It is always good to get it out. This is as exhausting for loves ones as it is the patient. So get it out, chin up again and move on. And remember to look after yourself...take a break when you need it. Take care and I hope your day gets better. Sandra
  14. hey there. I am sorry to hear about your mom's diffiiculties. Nothing in any of this is normal. Please ask lots of questions at docs office and all in sooner if needed. I hope they have some answers and she will start feeling better soon. Take care Sandra
  15. Hi Mary. Glad to hear the surgery went well and hope he has a speedy recovery. The doctors will give you some advice on chemo...if it were me, when I felt a bit better, I would probably go for it as a preventative measure. Everyone needs to do what they feel is best for them. Good luck with our decision. Nothing in any of this is easy. Take care Sandra
  16. Welcome Marianne. You have come to the right place for on-line support. Lots of good folks here and lots of good info. Sorry you had to join us. I am a mom too.
  17. hmmmm...I was told I was border line diabetic after chemo. And in all my reading, I have never heard of any MS\LC connection...hmmmm
  18. It was smokin' hot here in Victoria over the weekend. Above normal for us at this time of year. I am not good at converting from celsuis to farenheit....but I think we probably got close to 90 on both Sat and Sun. Burnt my poor head...got to be more careful recovering from baldness! A bit cooler today...sunny but breezy.
  19. On you go is a great attitude. I hope this all works out for you. Take care Sandra
  20. Hi Gracie. I know someone who had radiation to brain, then went on nice vacation, I met her for coffee and she was totally coherent. So I think there can be some success with that and I wish nothing but success for your sister. Sandra
  21. Well that is crap and then some!!! Just try and get through the day the best you can. I am sure the doctors have good reason and are doing the best possible for your sister. So now I am praying with you and cursing with you as well! Keep us posted.
  22. Hi Gracie. I have been saying prayers with you for awhile. I hope all takes a turn for the better very soon. Sandra
  23. Hi Tarek. I am so sorry for what you are going through. Focus on the liquids. I have heard others say on this board that dehyrdation is common. So a meal supplement like Donna is suggesting would be good as well but if he won't take that right away...focus on liquids. And phone a doctor or nurse and get some other advice. You are not alone in this. Myself and others are thinking of you. Do the best you can.
  24. Yeah for Dr. West. I too posted him a question this week (thanks to your suggestion Ned) and he responded to me as well within 24 hours. And I have used some information from him in the past. I even print it out and bring it to my doctors when necessary. There are many many dedicated smart cancer professionals in this world, and Dr. West is a model for many of them. And I just bless them all as it is such a difficult job. Mine is a wussy job compared to theirs.
  25. Hi Denise. I sometimes think we need to be alone, to give ourselves the time we need to let those darn tears out and get it over with. Because we so dearly don't want to do that when our loved ones are around. You have been so strong through all of this and a down day every once in awhile is perfectly normal. Yes, I would be scared too re MRI results, although I am pretty sure being in there for a long time is perfectly normal. Any test we have during this disease is cause for worry, that is just how it is now. And the best we can do, is take a deep breath, hope for the best, hear the results, and move on from that as best we can. And with all else, you have someone who was in your life, now moving on a bit, so that must be difficult as well. My thoughts are with you during this worrying time. May tomorrow be a better day. Sandra
