  1. Happy Birthday to you Leslie!!!! I hope you are enjoying your special day. Denise
  2. Hi Sandy. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I don't have much to add as the others have given you some really great advice regarding hospice. I totally agree with them. My sister in law had hospice for about a month after a 7 year battle. I have nothing but good things to say about them. They really do take a whole family approach. I pray for peace, comfort and strength for you all in the days ahead. Denise
  3. Good Morning So my grandson decided to stay inside the belly and cook a bit longer. The countdown is on though. we have 9 days til D-Day unless he decides to hang out even longer. I am getting anxious to meet him. It is 50 and sunny out now but it's supposed to get up to 73. It seems like a perfect day to go for a walk at the forest preserve. Have a great day. Denise
  4. That's fabulous news Rob!!! Enjoy your time off. Denise
  5. Good Morning Everyone. It's been a crazy couple of days. Viv has had higher BP than normal and has a lot of swelling. She went in for her regular (weekly now) check up and they took her to labor and delivery to monitor her for pre-eclampsia but it turned out that all was good. They let her go home and she is on bed rest. She was however having slight contractions according to the fetal monitor but they seem to have gone away. She really only has about 2 weeks left to go so we may be having this baby sooner than later. Have a great day. Denise
  6. Way to go Glenn!!!That's great news!!! Keep on truckin!! Denise

  11. Welcome Mothership. I'm sorry that you have found a need to be here but glad that you found us. You will find lots of good info, support and encouragement on this site. Take it one day at a time. Please keep us posted on how thing are going Denise
  12. Nice bus Muriel. I like this one too. It has a nice rack up top and it even has boats, birds and suns painted on it. We could use it as a spare. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File: ... us_R01.jpg Denise
  13. Kristi - Is he on any steroids by any chance. Tom was on them while getting chemo and he was a real bear to deal with. I can certainly understand your mothers need to want to ring his neck. I've been there. Denise
  14. Yeah Katie. I don't think it's going to be a problem swinging through Texas. I'm going to be in Indiana this weekend and I don't want to miss the bus. I'll be off 30 and 65 just outside Valpo in a town called Boone Grove. If you made it near there you can just pick us all up. That way Tom and Viv can join in too. Viv is a couple weeks from having this baby. I don't believe we have ever birthed a baby on the bus before. Any doctors coming along on this trip in case we get a baby along the way? Denise
  15. Good Morning Everyone Thank God it's Friday. It's payday WOOHOO!! I already have my money spent. I have to gear up for my Indiana weekend. I leave tomorrow afternoon and won't be back until late Monday. Gee I hope I don't miss the bus. Have a great day. Denise
  16. Caren - The exact same thing happened to Tom. He had a bad cough for a couple of weeks and started coughing so hard that he was passing out. Not enough air was getting to the lungs as it was coughed out to quickly. We took him to the ER and it turned out to be pneumonia. So definitely get it checked out. Denise
  17. Well after a few phone calls from me to the docs office I finally have a verdict. THE GIRLS ARE NORMAL!!! WOO HOO!!! Thanks for all the prayers and good vibes. They really do work. Now I will just bide my time until the 6 month check up. Denise
  18. Jayla is getting a real kick out of this. Thanks Randy. Denise
  19. Happy Thursday Everyone. I am still awaiting the doctors call with my results. Don't they know that me and waiting don't mix. It looks like we will be spending the weekend in Indiana at Tom's sisters house for Easter. Since I am off on Monday's I don't need to rush back. It will be a nice break down on the farm. See Bruce, I have a farm to run off to too. Have a great day. Denise
  20. I am so sorry to hear this news Jenn. Please accept my condolences. My prayer and thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Denise
  21. Phew is right Janet. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Ann - Glad to SEE you got your glasses ordered. I know how frustrating it can be. Sandra Hopefully you plumped up your veins enough to get a good hook up. In regards to Jayla- Since Viv is still on layoff mode and has the baby due shortly here she has been watching Jayla. Although Jayla seems to keep Tom on his toes too. I think she keeps him young. She is going to be a hoot on the bus. Denise P.S It is now 9:30 p.m. and no call from the doc. I left a message at 2:30 p.m. and no return call as of yet. ARRRRRRGGGHHHH!!!!
  22. Plese try not to worry yourself too much until it's time to worry. Yes it is perfectly normal to have so many tests. My husband also started with a breathing test followed by a CT, PET SCAN, Bronchoscopy, MRI'S and X-rays before everything was finalized. Hang in there and keep us posted. Denise
  23. I pray for a peaceful transition for your pop- pop. My heart, thoughts and prayers for strength in the days ahead are with you. Denise
  24. Good Morning Everyone. I'm off to work again. I am hoping to hear from the breast specialist today with my results. Jayla stayed in her own bed all night so I got some good sleep without getting kicked to death. In case anyone is wondering why I am mentioning Jayla so much again she is back home with me for now. Have a great day. Denise
  25. Ready to roll here too. I am packed as well. The driver will need to stop for me this time. I don't think I have the strength to grab the hook this time. Jayla is packed too. She is older now and can handle longer trips. She also know's a lot more songs then Patty Cake now and can cut a CD if needed for entertainment. Where is the bus pulling out from now anyway? I am assuming from Michigan. Denise
