  5. Ok Bob, How old?????? Happy belated birthday. Ginny
  6. Dear Anne, Losing a mother is like losing your very best friend. My mother died 35 years ago and I still talk to her, sometimes out loud. Please accept my deepest sympathy and know I will pray for peace and comfort for her family. Ginny

  9. Wow, Carolyn, this is certainly good news. May Jim destroy many skeets in the months and years to come. No doctor gave Earl a time line. But we are know 15 months out. We went out to dinner on Fri and he was like the Earl of old - what a joy. Last night we went to our dinner group Christmas Party. He really can not stand and mingle but he sat and our friends came and mingled with him. He lasted 4 hours - yeah. We have some more social events during the holidays - hope he can enjoy them all. Ginny
  10. Yep, it's done. Also, passing it on to my whole address book. Thanks.
  11. Hey Rickey, Great letter, already copied and pasted to Word. Thank you. Check paragraph 5 - is 'that breast' should be 'than breast'. Ginny
  12. Caroline, I am very sorry about your MIL. My husband had WBR over a year ago. Lost his hair and was fatigued. He had only had 1 tumor and that had been removed surgically. The WBR was to make sure if there were micro tumors - we would shoot them dead. He had some memory problems and has quite a problem with balance. Also, gets dizzy sometimes. The memory and dizzy have improved quite a bit. His neurosurgeon says that the problems are because 1. he had a brain tumor, 2. he had a seizure, 3. he had surgery, 4. he had WBR and 5. he has had chemo. Said his nerve endings are damaged. Good news - no tumors had come back in his brain. Definitely worth the problems. Go for it and good luck. Ginny
  13. Count me in. Also, I have many ideas for fund raising - am currently involved with raising funds for children's causes and ALS. But Lung Cancer has become my charity of choice and I am selfish in wanting to find a cure. We need to be in their face. We need to get more members here. We need to try and organize (maybe a small S B Komen type) And, yes Rick, we need money. But let's start. An email and letter campaign both locally and nationally. You wonderful writers, if you could compose a letter where we can just change the personal data would help us writing impaired people. Let's get rolling. Ginny
  14. I am heartsick. Too young, too vital, what a lose. His boys are to be proud of their Dad and his determination and fight. God bless you all.
  15. Dear Norme, I am so glad you are home and back here. We missed you and thought of you and Buddy all the time. We all wish Buddy had better news. But each day brings new hope and new joy. Ginny
  16. Bpy, Carleen, were you missed. Glad you are back and are posting good news. Ginny
  17. Karen, I am so sorry that Faith has the flu. But I am so glad that the air is cleared and that your cleaning person is starting. Hip hip hooray. I yelled at Earl last night. I got out the hot mayo he usually likes and he said no, I want the regular mayo. Well hello, does the word please mean anything. Ginny
  18. So nice to hear from you again Estelle and that you are having fun. Hope you are on the Iressa for 50 years. Ginny
  19. True story (A little grandmother bragging) My 5 year old grandson called his 8 year old brother a creep. My son, there father, overheard this exchange. He said to the 5 year old, "Conner, I heard that, why did you call Brendan a creep?" Without missing a beat, Conner said, "Because I forgot his name". Also, my 8 month old grandson does not do SO BIG. Nope, when you say TOUCHDOWN, up go Jack's arms into the So Big position. Grandchildren truly are grand. Ginny
  20. Hey Bruce, thanks for that info. It makes me VERY happy. Ginny
  21. Sandy, Earl and I were just talking last night that this time last year he was in Fox Chase after his lung surgery and he had been moved back in to ICU because of Afibrilation, which they did get under control. He had experienced this for awhile before his LC dx and had basically put his head in the sand about. (Yep, he's a guy). Well since this episode in the hospital, it has gone away completely, who knew. Hope the same for you. Weird beats are very treatable from what I understand. Ginny
  22. Dear Lori, Words really seem inadequate. I so much like Lenny's posts, they were full of fight and love. He was so so so young, it seems so so so unfair. Please know that you and your family will be included in my prayers. Stay with us, we are here for you. Ginny
  23. Macjanice, 1. My husband had the radiation, 33 treatments. He took Carafat at the hospital before and after each treatment and at home on the weekends. Other than fatigue he had no side effects, no burning etc. 2. Sit down and talk to your husband about how important he is to you and how important it is to fight. He may not be cured but he may be able to live for many years with a fine quality of life. This is a tough, tough time for both of you emotionally. Keep encouraging him. Ginny
  24. Hi Mo. Glad to know you. Ginny
  25. Dear Gene, I am so very sorry. Lenny was way too young to die. He fought a hard fight and you should be very proud of him. The loss of a child I think is the most profound. Please know that I will include Lenny and his family in my prayers. Ginny
