Thank you Donna for sharing MaryJo's furneral with all of us. I am so sorry I could not attend it. I had talked to her 5 days before she passed. She was a fighter, a Loving, kind caring person.

She did so much to support our troups in Iraq and she attended the furnerals of those who lost there lives in Iraq with other motorcycle riders even when she was so sick fighthing her cancer. She was a Police Despatcher for many years. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, aunt, cousin, friend and she WILL be missed.:cry:

Bye Bye Mary Jo, until we meet again my friend! I love you my friend! I'll miss you!

  3. Mary Jo was a member and Good Friend to my In Person LC Support Group AND she was a member here at LCSC. Although she didn't post often, she fought long and hard to beat this monster that lurks within so many of us, and during that time she offered friendship, support and information to others. My heart aches for I have lost a Great Friend on Christmas day and I will forever miss her until we meet again. Mary Jo Would Say, "CANCER SUCKS"

    Hugs,

    Connie

  4. I feel your pain, more then you know. ((((((((((DENISE)))))))))))

You just keep loving your grandbaby and being in her life, it'll all work out. Deep Breath In, blow it out. You'll get through this minute by minute. second by second. Just remember she's within reach.

  5. Oh Chris, I have NO DOUBT that what your living in is SO DEVESTATING!! Maurie & I got caught in a snow/ice storm in Oklahoma a few years ago, and that was HALF of what you've been dealing with. When we were in it, the entire town was closed down for 3 days and that was UNREAL to us but they didn't lose power in most of the area. So, I'm SURE what your going through has to be pure HELL!

Plus I have been seeing on the weather and world news that you guys are still getting hit with ton's of snow on TOP of all that ice!:shock::shock::shock:

I can NOT imagine. They did say on the News that they had no idea how long it would be before some of those people get power in your area and outer cities.

I am SO GLAD your okay and things are starting to turn around for you. This has already been a crazy winter for so many states, but you guys really got hit!

Glad to have you back. It felt empty not having you here. ((((Chris)))))

  6. Hey Linda, That's AWESOME NEWS! It's funny that we look forward to hearing anything other then that it might be the cancer?:shock: Infection is a GOOD thing for a cancer patient!

One of my In Person LC Support Group Members (who passed away 3 years ago) use to get so excited when he would end up with anything NON RELATED TO CANCER. He had a disc in his back that crushed and I'm not kidding you, he called me from the hospital and this man was just THRILLED it was a crushed disc and NOTHING to do with his lung cancer. He also one time had a bleed ulcer and again, he was thrilled it wasn't lung cancer. He was a Pillar of Strength and SOOOO POSITIVE & HOPEFUL. He was a stage IV and lived for 4 years and 9 months. He wanted to make it to five but God had other plans for him. But, if it's not cancer, it's a GOOD THING!

As for the levaquin, I've been on it and it's a very powerful antibiotic. It also is noted to cause yeast infection. Drink a LOT of water with this pill. It's kills bad bacteria and good too. I had to take it with food. And I'm sorry to say the levaquin the last time I was on it made me nausetated.

Hang in there, and know I'm cheering you on.

  7. Sandra, that's wonderful!:wink: Patti will LOVE IT!

I have heard from Patti and she hasn't been doing well with the hip pain. She's also bummed out with the meds she is on. She REALLY REALLY NEEDS OUR LOVE & SUPPORT! ((((((((((((((PATTI)))))))))))))))

She's been busy with Nick and chemo, etc., etc., Plus a snow storm is moving in her direction.

Sending Tons of LOVE & SUPPORT your way Patti. I can't hold a CANDLE to what our Sandra composed! She's GOOD! :D

Hope your feeling better each and every day Patti.

  8. Welcome Richard, and CONGRATULATIONS on 5+ years!! :D:D Love to hear these hopful stories. I too am a LC Survivor (Stage IIIA-B) it's 13+ years for me. I won't bore you with details but you can read my story by clicking on the link below this message.

I hope you'll stay with us and offer hope to those starting and those fighting this monster and let us get to know you. This is a great group of people.

  9. I know you and I have been in touch, but it honestly is good to see you post to the board. Love to see that smiling face!

It's Another Great Day To Be Alive! :D

  10. Hey Lilly,

GOOD NEWS for the holidays! As for spread to vocal cords, I would say this monster is capable of going anywhere it wants too.:evil:. Sorry to say my dad lost his voice when he had lc. But remember that was 38 years ago. I know Wendy on the board here had vocal cord problems, but I don't think it was from a nodule, I'm sure it wasn't. I can't remember now what it was about, but I know she has a whispery voice now, 8) but over the years it has gotten better. Check with her.

Good to hear things are going well for you. You Deserve it my friend! (((LILLY)))

    Happy Holidays!

  11. Hi Friends,

I know several of you have been concerned about our Christine (Chris). Well, she just called me and told me she is just devestated and in SHOCK over the Ice storm that hit them. She said it's like a War Zone. She has heat and her hubby Frank went into town and got a generator so they have electricity. They have no clue as to when they will get power back. She said all her tree tops are gone and trees were cracking all around them and snapping off with a horrible sound. She said, you just can't believe this or imagine how horrible it is. POOR CHRIS and all those that live in that town.

She has taken pictures but is unable to share them with us as of yet. She will when she gets back on line. But for now she just has her I-phone and it's to hard for her to type on that. Her mom lives 20 miles from her and her mom's area didn't get hit. So depending how long this goes, Chris did say they might be going to stay with her mom in time to come.

Keep her in your prayers. She said she'll take all she can get right now. I'll keep you updated if I hear more.

  12. 670,000 people without any power. They have no idea how long it will take to get the power up and running. They sounded like it would be weeks + some. What I saw on TV was devestating.

  13. Very nice to see you Tom. Sorry your battling this dreaded depression. As for my RBC mine was fine within a couple of months after chemo. So, I never had any blood problems. The famous last words are "everyone is different." Some never do have problems and some do like what your going through.

B12 shots can be wonderful. I have several friends (for other health issues) that get the B-12 shot and they swear by them as far as giving them energy back.

As for the depression, it took me 2 years after I was dx.d to pick up my life again and face my demons and say, "I'm going to live, I beat this crap and I better get out of this stooper and get on with my life.":wink: And low and behold that's exactly what I did. But I fought depression for a good 2 years. Sadly enough, that's not uncommon with any cancer patient. Once I started focusing on others and not on my cancer and the fact that I thought (Convinced) myself I was going to die, my life took a positive turn around. I made up my mind I wasn't going to let the cancer rule my life. I got a second chance and by golly I was going to enjoy it the best I could.

I hope you'll pop in more often, if for no other reason then to say HI and maybe offer HOPE to all those wonderful people that are new to this journey and need to know we DO and CAN SURVIVE Lung cancer.

Good Luck and Keep on Keeping on. Happy 3 Years of being a LC SURVIVOR! ROCK ON!

  14. Oh Chris, I KNEW you were getting hit! Those ice stroms are the WORST! Stay warm my friend and know I'm sending good wishes and warm weather your way.

Glad your okay and you checked in. We'll hold the fort down until you get back.

  15. Hi Tracy,

Oh Tracy you and your uncle need to know that chemo responds very well to small cell lung cancer. I'm sorry his Onc Doc isn't offering much hope. Shame on the Onc Doc. I know many even on this board that are Small Cell Extensive Survivors and are doing very well after there chemo. One of my friends is soon to be a 9 year EX-SCLC survivor and is STILL cancer free. The first doctor (Onc Doc) she had gave her 6 months and she didn't like what he said and how he treated her so she fired his *ss. (quote). She got a doctor that was willing to fight the fight and well, the rest is history. She's over 70 now.

Tell your Uncle to go for it and let him know I am cheering him on.

  16. Welcome and so sorry to hear you lost your mom and now facing yet another dx.s with your Uncle.

I'm the Connie B that Donna was talking about. I honestly know of many families that have been hit hard and heavy with lung cancer. It honestly sucks no matter what kind of cancer it is, but everyone here sure hates lung cancer.

My mom and sister were dx.d 3 months apart from one another, It hit my family very hard. They died 8 months apart from one another. I am now dealing with my mom's sister (74) my aunt who is going to be having surgery this Monday. And yes, it's lung cancer. I know what you mean when you say, GOD are you out there? Yep, been there, done that!

Please know we all understand and if you need an ear, we're all here for you, and so am I. I have friends that had/have bone mets and they are still here 3+ years later. One of them is on this board. (Wendy). So, don't give up hope. It's not over till that fat lady sings, don't forget!:wink:
