  1. Snail Heads for the Daytona Tracks

There was this snail who wanted to be a Formula One racing driver. He went along to the track and asked if he could drive. The racing team manager said, “Yes, but you can't have a number on your car, you can only have an 'S' because you are a snail.”

The Snail was okay with this is so he entered the race. The race started and the snail's car was at the back...but suddenly he sped to the front, over-taking all the cars and won!!

As the spectators saw the Snail speed past them, they yelled “WOW! LOOK AT THAT S-CAR GO!”

  2. Bill,

My medical onc was not sure about the dosage either when we first talked about it. He also thought it was 200mg. He went and checked and found that 150mg was the dosage.

I find the part about the investigational drug interesting.

  3. Bill,

My onc nurses check my C.B.C. I would say about every ten weeks. They have been fine. I think once they mention lower red count and suggested an Iron supplement, which I am taking 325mg plus what ever is in the Multi vitamin I take daily.

  4. We always hear "the rules" from the female side.

Now here are the rules from the male side.

    These are our rules!

Please note... these are all numbered "1" ON PURPOSE!

    1. Men ARE not mind readers.

    1. Sunday sports. It's like the full moon or the changing of the tides. Let

    it be.

    1. Shopping is NOT a sport. And no, we are never going to think of it that

    way.

    1. Crying is blackmail.

    1. Ask for what you want. Let us be clear on this one: Subtle hints do not

work! Strong hints do not work! Obvious hints do not work! Just say it!

    1. Come to us with a problem only If you want help solving it. That's what

we do. Sympathy is what your girlfriends are for.

    1. Anything we said 6 months ago is inadmissible in an argument. In fact,

all comments become null and void after 7 Days.

    1. If something we said can be interpreted two ways and one of the ways

makes you sad or angry, we meant the other one.

    1. You can either ask us to do something or tell us how you want it done.

Not both. If you already know best how to do it, just do it yourself.

    1. ALL men see in only 16 colors, like Windows default settings. Peach, for

example, is a fruit, not! A color. Pumpkin is also a fruit. We have no idea

    what mauve is.

    1. If it itches, it will be scratched. We do that.

    1. If we ask what is wrong and you say "nothing," We will act like nothing's

wrong. We know you are lying, but it is just not worth the hassle.

    1. When we have to go somewhere, absolutely anything you wear is

    fine...Really.

    1. You have enough clothes.

    1. You have too many shoes.

    1. Thank you for reading this.

Yes, I know, I have to sleep on the couch tonight; but did you know men

really don't mind that? It's like camping.

Pass this to as many men as you can - to give them a laugh.

Pass this to as many women as you can - to give them a bigger laugh

  5. Bill,

I can only talk about Iressa and the length of time before side effects kicked in. With Iresssa it took about two to three weeks before the side effects were as far as they would go. I can say maybe the same for Tarceva. It is hard to say because I went from Iressa to Tarceva with in 24 hours. Tarceva seems a little hasher than Iressa as far as the rash is concerned.

Send my best to your wife I hope she continues to improve. My best to you too.

  6. A man and his wife entered a dentist's office.

The wife said, "I want a tooth pulled. I don't want gas or Novocain because I'm in a terrible hurry. Just pull the tooth as quickly as possible."

"You're a brave woman," said the dentist. "Now, show me which tooth it is."

The wife turns to her husband and says: "Open your mouth and show the dentist which tooth it is, dear."

  7. Bill,

The rash has not really caused me any problems on my face, neck, back, chest, and a few scattered areas. It is the worst in my hair. Head and Shoulders seems to help. A good moisturizer hair conditioner seems to help some. I just started using the Head and Shoulders on my face. I can not say much yet on this.

My biggest problem is the dry skin. I have skin splits on my finger tips. A triple antibiotic ointment on the splits makes them go a way and relieve the small amount of pain. The dry skin is the worst on my face, hands and arms. I use a good moisturizing skin lotion.

I have bowel problems, but an over the counter anti diarrhea medication takes care of that.

  8. Bill,

I was on Iressa from 3/03 until 2/05. All my scans so far have shown no progression. During the first 3 months I had some shrinkage. I am now currently on 150mg of Tarceva. My last CAT scan was 2/17/05. Still stable.

My Onc said the reason he suggested going to Tarceva from Iressa was if Iressa worked well for me, Tarceva should be even better.

Good luck with Tarceva. I hope it keeps working for your wife.

  9. I agree with you I would go for dinner tonight and come back Wednesday. When I saw my pulmolnologist he mentioned the radiation beads. I have not had this done. I understand it to be a help in opening the airway. They radiate these beads and then put then on the tumor then remove them. A radiologist is the one that works with the pulmonologist on this procedure. I am unaware of the side effects or procedure concerns. Maybe John will see this and be of some help or ask the experts.

It is good to see you on your friend John.

  10. Yes, Frank I have heard of not seeing everything on a CT.

I am glad they kept looking in to what was wrong. It sounds like you have good plan in place.

We will all be sending you our best in getting through this. My best to you and Connie getting this taken care of.

    Your friend John.

  11. Nancy,

I can offer a few things that may help. The day of chemo and the day after try to drink as much fluids as you can. This will help with the ache muscles. As far as the nausea is concerned you onc should have given you stuff in your IV before the chemo and you should have some compazine at home. Good luck with it all.

    John

  12. I definitely would have had radiation again. My body is so messed up I do not know what side effect was cased by what. I believe it has extended my life a great deal.

    John
