  4. Hello, Wlecome to the family. You seem to have done well with your treatments. Please do a search on this site for PCI (Prophylactic Cranial Irradiation ) and WBR (whole brain radiation). These topics have been discussed extensively on this site and you might learn something that might help you with your decision. Meanwhile enjoy your well-deserved vacation! Theresa

  7. Hi, Yours is a typical reaction when learning of a loved one's cancer diagnosis. Being scared is normal but once the reality sinks in and you are able to distance yourself from the initial diagnosis then you will realize that there is hope and there are a lot of treatment options for your Dad. You will meet a lot of people here that have defied the odds that their doctors have given them. They are surviving and living their lives. You have come to the right place. There are a lot of support, sharing of info/knowledge, love and caring in this board. I'd rather that you did not have to find us but now that you have found us, welcome! Theresa

    SCANS

Hi Ray, I'll be praying for good scan and mri results. I'll also pray for God to hold your hands as you wait for Friday. Theresa
  9. Hi Barbara, Welcome to the family. I am glad that you have found us although sad that you have to seek us out. As you continue to read on in this board and meet the wonderful people on this board you will see a lot of survivors that have defied statistics and their doctor's prognosis. You certainly came to the right place if you are looking for support, knowledge and/or just to vent your fears or frustrations. This disease can be beaten or put at bay until newer and more powerful treatments are discovered. Positive thinking is a key and also lots of research. Please feel at home and make yourself comfortable. We are here for you. Theresa
  10. Great news! Thanks Norme. Theresa
  11. Hi Peggy AKA Sandy, I like 'never ever die' for NED, but 'no evidence of disease' is good too. You have a great attitude and it is really refreshing. Welcome to the big family (1000+). Theresa
  12. Congratulations! 10 months, 10 more years to go and more! You deserve a treat!
  13. Hello, Having lived with smokers most of my life I know how tough it is for them to quit smoking. I am wondering if your Mom may be feeling depressed, scared or stressed out. I think this is the time your Mom needs your support the most. Letting her know that you are there for her and that she can talk to you instead of lighting up a cigarette when she's feeling down, depressed or stressed out might help. Like Jen said, anti-depressants might also help your Mom. Be strong for your Mom, she's going to need it. Praying for you and your Mom, Theresa
  14. Hi, I am so sorry for your loss. I wish that you have found us sooner. I will be praying for you and your late husband. Please stick around. Hopefully we might ease your grief and pain even for just a bit. Hugs, Theresa

  25. Hi Andrea, I'm afraid I do not have anwers to your questions as I am kind of in the same boat as you. I'd also be intersted in the answers. I have decided that on my next annual check up coming up I will ask for all possible tests to be done on me so as to get as much baseline information as possible. I am going to ask for a chest x-ray or would a ct scan be better? Anyway, thanks for asking these questions! Theresa
