Guest peggyd Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 I've been reading the message boards for about a month now so I guess its time I join in. I have especially been touched and have identified with Mrs. Mike as I am a Mrs. Mike as well who has been married for 35 years to a man most loved. My Mike was dx'd with sclc 3/14/03 after finding an enlarged lymph node (a virchow node) which is an indicator from what I understand of lung cancer. Our family doctor (and most recently our family friend) sent Mike for a ct scan and chest xray that very same day. Following a biopsy on the node, we were in chemo within two weeks. Mike has just finished his sixth round of chemo (carbo and vp16) and will be going for a ct scan the end of this month. The scan after three months showed some reduction in size of the lung and lymph node cancer and no change in the size of tumor in the adreanal glands. Your boards have kept me going and I am so grateful for all the encouragement they have given me. My prayers have been with all of you. Hoping to hear more good news. And, again, as much as we would hope not to be here, thanks for being here. Quote
Fresca Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 Oh friend- Welcome, sorry you have to be here. This road stinks. I will be praying for you and Your Mike. Oh, how I wish you didn't have to be here. I will pray for quick and LONG remission. Rana Quote
Andrea B. Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 Welcome! I am so very sorry we have to meet this way. I will be praying that remission will be happening after the next scan. Never give up hope. Take care. Quote
ginnyd Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 Dear Peggy, Welcome and sorry you have to be here. But if there is lung cancer in your life, this is the place to be for information, support and comfort. Hope scans are great. Quote
kimblanchard Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 Dear Peggy, So sorry you find the need to visit this board but am glad you found us. Keep us updated on your dear Mike's condition as you both join our prayer list. Blessings to you both, Peg Quote
Carleen Posted July 25, 2003 Posted July 25, 2003 I would also like to welcome you, and express how sorry I am that we must meet this way. I want you to also know that I will be adding you and Mike to my prayers as well. Carleen Quote
JudyB Posted July 26, 2003 Posted July 26, 2003 Peggy, With so many trials going on and so many new discoveries regarding LC, one can't lose hope. Hang in there! Hopefully Mike's drs. will find the chemo(s) that will do the job! JudyB Quote
