Tim'sKathy Posted August 21, 2003 Share Posted August 21, 2003 Tim went for his follow up with his Onc today...she feels that the radiation has taken care of the brain mets..and she took him off the decadron !!! Thank goodness because that has to be the drug from H*** ! He was concerned as his stomach has been very bloated and sore, and of course you know what we were thinking....but come to find out he put on 10 lbs in a week (he is eating me out of house and home from the steroids!) and she feels it is a combination of this and the decadron that is making his stomach hurt and be bloated. She scheduled him for a CT scan to be sure..but she says she thinks it is nothing. She also feels the Iressa is working at keeping everything stabilized...the lymph node under his arm, while it has not gone away, is the same and his lung sounds GOOD ! So she said that we will just keep a watch on everything. She told him to take a month off...we are going on vacation 9/13-9/20 (rented a cottage on the ocean !) and she said to go and have a great time ! She said that even if the scan did show any progression...he can wait until we are back and then she would put him on a low dose once a week chemo... but if it shows nothing like she thinks, then he will just continue with the Iressa ! Phew...finally a break for us ! Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts..there IS power in numbers ! Candy- I am sure you and Hugh will get good news tomorrow too !!! We'll be thinking of you !!!!
