gail Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 I was troubled all night, as were most of us, with the news from Bobmc. Tired of this happening. Not fair at all. Found myself waiting for it to be my turn. Then I realized I was feeling guilty for having gotten this far without problems. (I do guilt so well! My mother trained me well) My sister told me she feels guilty that I got cancer and she didn't. My best friend reminded me that at the time of my LC surgery, I expressed fear that I would see my son graduate from high school. He just turned 18 this past week, and graduation is in June. So I talked to God, and decided to give up the guilt. It takes too much energy that could be used for the positive. You guys are the best. gail Quote
Don Wood Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 Gail, well said. Have a great Christmas. Don Quote
sharyn Posted December 21, 2003 Posted December 21, 2003 Interesting thing, guilt. One way to reason it all out is that you are here for a very specific reason - One you may not be aware of as of yet - So don't feel guilt - but believe you have a job to do that is not yet finished. Merry Christmas.... Love, Sharon Quote
bobmc Posted December 21, 2003 Posted December 21, 2003 Hello Gail; Thank you for the warm and tender thoughts but please don't feel guilty. We truely never know what Gods plans are for us and I simply look at this as he's just not done with me yet. Guess, I just need a little more character building and besides I truely have been blessed in many ways. So as MO says I'm " letting go and letting God " , trying to keep my feet on firm spiritual ground and getting ready to do battle. again, thanks Gail, and have a happy & joyous Holiday!! Bobmc- NSCLC- stageIIB- left pneumonectomy- 5/2/01 MRI's taken 12/18 - 2 brain mets found- named em Frick & Frack "Absolutely insist on enjoying life today!" Quote
Guest Estrea Posted December 21, 2003 Posted December 21, 2003 Bob: I love your spirit! I can only imagine what you are going through and to keep a sense of humor is something else. I know someone with brain mets -- and that was eight years ago! So keep on keeping on... Quote
