Joe B
Has any tried the pre-derived supplments called "Immuno Power" ? http://www.immunopower.com It is somewhat expensive $250 for a 1-3 month supply -- Patrick Quillan of "beating cancer with nutrition" recommends it (he may even be a part of the business). I received a sample today ($10) that you can ask for, and will try it tomorrow. HE claims that it provides the right balance of Nutrients (vitamins, minerals, supplements...etc) that cancer patients need to keep their immune systems at peak performance. Just wondering if anyone has used, and if so what their thoughts are... Joe
LindaMRG
I did read his book but it lead me to find a doctor that deals with alternative treatments. There is so much out there I was hoping a doc could sort it out for me for my father. We will see him when my father recovers from pneumonia. Let us know what you think if you try the sample. Joe B
I tried the sample... it had a potent vitamin smell... but when I mixed it with ice, OJ, a banana and fresh berries.. it tasted fine... Noticed a little more energy that day. I have to decide if I want to shell out $250 for t an extended experiment with this stuff... they say it willlast 1-3 month depending on how many time a day you take it (1-3) It does provide a complete list of vitamins, mimerals, and othet known cancer fighting supplements I guess its worth a try - $250 in the realm of things (i.e. my health, while ensuring this cancer is LONG gone) doesnt seem to be that big of an investmet... Snowflake
Joe, If you want the "skinny" on the stuff, make an appointment with the nutritionist at your hospital. Go over what's in the stuff and see if it is something that is worth the $250...OR, see what the suggested supplements are and go to GNC. My thought would be that if the instructions tell you to mix with things like bananas and other fruit, other vitamins/minerals are supplied by the fruit and that the testimonials of the producer of this good stuff/snake oil (since you aren't sure yet) is taking that into account when listing off the pluses of the concoction... Kinda like the diet aids that insist you drink at least eight glasses of water a day - better for you, but keeps your tummy full, too...and ya eat less. Just a thought....from a born cynic. Take care, and if you DO run it by a nutritionist and get a green light, please, let me know... Thanks!
mhutch1366
Bonojo, PM me with the full list of ingredients, and I can sort through some of it for you. While I am not a nutritionist I am a biochemist and I know the fancy names for sugar and fat.... lol... The advice about a nutritionist is a good one. I'd be glad to help if you'd like me to take a look. MaryAnn

Elaine
Interesting link to letters you may use to try to get reimbursement for your supplements. http://www.immunopower.com/insurancesuccess.htm Once to the link, there are other links to the letters. I think it is kind of interesting that one of the letters allude to a class action lawsuit against insurance companies for not covering these kinds of treatments. I have a very good friend in Florida who does big time class action lawsuits and WINS. For a month or so I have been seriously considered contacting him about some HMO things I believe are of detriment to the millions of people who are seriously ill and who have HMO. Hmmm wondering..... In the meantime, the letters might be worth a shot. Joe, are you still on IMMUNO Powder/pills.?? What's your take on them now?
