Sorry to hear about your father. You have found a geat place to come for listeners and supporters. Don't get to ahead trying to plan the what if's. What if's are not good to live by because anything could happen anyday to any of us. Live for the moment. My mom also continues to smoke and I had a hard time accepting this. She does not smoke around me and she will lie to me about it, but I have learned that I know she smokes and I just leave it alone. She is still my mom. Well good luck and cherish everyday. My mom has had the same headache since Friday. She describes it as a dull pain right behind her eye constantly. Doc said he does not have an answer to why she would have one. Could this have spread or am I being paranoid? Onc doc skipped her chemo today so she could sleep and get rid of headache with the aide of pills hopefully. She has not been able to sleep this time with chemo. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you and God bless all of you. Heidi

Beth- I have to tell you that you are obviously very strong and courageous. You have been a wonderful inspiration to me and what I have been dealing with. Just remember that if you are indeed in your final stages with this your LIFE IS BEGINNING because this is more like hell. Remember that you have made such a big difference in so many peoples lives. You are a wonderful person. PRAYERS for you.

Hello - I HAVE and DO feel angry. I feel angry that this has happend to my mom, my best friend, a wonderful lady. I am angry that I know this has changed our lives forever (may be for good or worse; but it was just fine before) I even catch myself being angry at people who smoke. I just want to ask them if they have ever had a loved one diagnosed with cancer (I know not all cancer is from smoking; my mom's probably is). Yes I feel angry and no I don't believe I am depressed. Boy I could go on forever. I am getting angry just writing about it I completely understand where you are coming from. Take care Heidi

Hi all - Just an update. My mom is on another round of chemo will have this one days 1-8 and then again in 5 weeks days 1-8. Hope she won't get as sick but I think it will probably be the same. Thank you to all for the caring and support I have recieved this far. My prayers being said everyday for a cure for each and everyone. Heidi

I too have been craving choclate! But I also joined Curves (all women gym, No men, No mirrors, no gimmicks) I am going to be wieghed and measured on Tues. so we will see if I lost inches but I know I have not lost pounds. Heidi

My mom also has pain in the front and back not directly over the incision but over a little and she has a little pain above her hip bone. She aske d the doctot on her last appt. and he said it was referred pain from the incision site and that right above the hip is referred pain from her chest tubes. Good luck and prayers being said

My moms tumor was also all dead when removed at surgery! After radiation and chemo

My mom is doing great will be starting chemo around the 7th of April for two more rounds. However, my friend who just lost her mom to cancer, her husbands uncle has 2 brain tumors and a lung tumor (prognosis not good). Also my grandma went to the doc a week ago said it was the start of pneumonia then her nurse called today and they want copies of her latest X-ray (same as how it started with my mom). She has been a smoker for 50 plus years so that makes me very worried. Praying that this nightmare I have been in since Nov. will end and that I will wake up and carry on the way it was. I can't take all this any more. I can only imagine how they feel. I know there is more on my plate than I can handle right now. Prayers being requested. Of course prayers are also being sent. Heidi

Karen - oxycontin is a heavy narcotic and it will make him loopy. Pain management is hard because the stuff that works is usually the stuff that makes them sleepy and loopy. Don't feel bad that your unable to stay with him he understands. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and Dave. Heidi

My mom would not drink the shakes she lost her sweet tooth but take her peanuts or anything high in protein is what my moms doc said
