RJN reacted to Pstar in Still stable
Hi all…had my 3 month brain mri and ct scan of chest/abdomen/pelvis done. On the mri where I had gamma knife in November, there was a slight increase of lesion but still within the treatment area so radiologist is confident it is just some swelling. The ct showed stability, so I am good for the next 3 months I guess.

RJN got a reaction from Karen_L in I seem to be struggling accepting good news!
I came across a column a few days ago from a self-proscribed hypochondriac. Turns out it was someone with a history of hodgkin’s. I was thinking that it really is a side-effects of cancer recovery. Even if all goes to plan, you will always be extra wary of any physical symptoms. I get a bit worried if I have the tiniest cough. Just spoke to someone who is convinced her dodgy hip is bone metastasis, rather than the logical conclusion that carrying around her toddler grandkids might be to blame. But better safe than sorry - so good to get it checked. And when that is done, celebrate your clear scan again!

Yesterday I had my five year scan with no evidence of recurrence! The nodule and atelectasis around the scar has disappeared. It is a good day.
edited - when talking to one of my daughters I realized it was 4 years since diagnosis. Ahh well, 4 years is good too!

RJN reacted to Blossomsmom in About to get real
Had my pre-op appointment yesterday which included EKG and bloodwork. Went over all pre-op instructions which included soap to use that morning and where and where not to use it 🫢. No food after midnight, no water after 4:00 am. I’m ok with those things but no coffee, now that’s the hard one. Got my spirometer to use when I come home. Since it will be my best friend for awhile, I’m thinking of naming it. Maybe that’s what I’ll try to think of when I’m awake at 3 am most nights now. I’ve made a list of things I want to pack and have my husband bring me after surgery. Anxiety level starting to build. Hoping not to be a total basket case by the 6th. Surgery and the possible outcome is getting way too real.

Another “complete remission scan” - 9 months post surgery and 5 months after finishing immunotherapy. Summer can’t come soon enough😀
