  4. Pipfitz, Welcome to the site. I am sorry to hear about your husband. My cancer was very similar to your husbands. I am so sorry that you believe that you will loose to cancer. There are many of us here that have hope. Hope that we can survive. Hope that a new treatment is just around the corner. Hope that the drugs we are taking will work. I was told by one doctor that I had 18 months tops. I was told that I would be very sick from the treatment. I elected to take the treatment and not believe the prognoses. It has been 30 months. I have not had a sick day and feel great. None of us know anything for sure when it comes to cancer. Each one of us may have a different result from our treatment. I don’t believe any of us can know for sure what God’s plan is for our lives. I do not wish to be critical of your beliefs. I only want to share with you the hope that many of us on this site have and how it has helped us survive. I will pray that they find the treatment that will reduce your husband's cancer. Stay positive, Ernie

  8. Lor, You do need to get a second opinion. Go to the web site below and it will give you a list of places that give second opinions and how to contact them. I went to Sloan Kettering in New York. They are not on the list but they are very good. http://www.blochcancer.org/articles/xtrnew.asp You can certainly find a place that will give you better treatment than you have told us about. Stay positive, Ernie
  9. What kind of scans were done? A CT scan will show mass. A PET scan should show an uptake if it is cancer. This is not positive, but I would want it done before a biopsy. Stay positive, Ernie

  19. My only symptoms were shoulder pain and what I thought was indigestion. The pain was like a slight sprang. Neither one was severe. The shoulder pain was what I thought was from playing golf. I noticed when I played golf again that none of my moves agitated the pain, so I concluded that it was not from golf. Because of this pain and the slight indigestion, I requested a chest x-ray when I had my annual physical. They had just told me how healthy I was. They did do the x-ray at my request and then that is when we found the pleural area full of fluid. The cancer could not be seen till I had a CT scan, because the fluid was blocking it. If you have any doubt about what your problem is, I would recommend an X-Ray and a CT scan. After my diagnoses my daughter had a CT scan just to be safe, I hope this helps some. Stay positive, Ernie
  20. Mary, If you feel OK then do what ever you want. I worked right through my chemo the first time. I have retired. I am back on chemo. I have chemo one day and play golf the next day. Don’t let cancer interfere with what you want to do. Stay positive, Ernie
