  1. Kate, I am sorry to read about your Mom's passing. I am glad it was peaceful though. I pray that you get through the coming days as stress-free as possible. Your story was truly beautiful. Love, Bobby
  2. Don't let it get you down too much Barbara. Cancer is a good way to weed out the "friends" you can do without. People get so busy with trivial things in their own lives, that they forget the important things, which is really a shame. I hope you do have a good support system even without everyone's support. Sometimes we just have to move on and do it on our own. I call my sister everyday, but I am not there with her all of the time. Her former employees were very good to her at first, but it has tapered off somewhat. Take care and stay positive and know that everyone on this board supports you. Love, Bobby

  4. I am praying that your Mom will have a peaceful journey and that You are given the strength to handle the stressful days ahead. Love, Bobby
  5. Beverly just called me and said that she is very dizzy. I told her I think it is just from the PCI's she had done. She just finished her last one on Friday, the 27th. Can anyone tell me if this is true??
  6. Thanks Kelly. She is doing pretty good. She has a couple more PCI's and will be through until Sept. when she has to get scanned again. Keeping our fingers crossed! Barbara
  7. Doesn't his employer require a Dr.'s release before he can come back to work? I know where I live, we are not able to come back to work after missing a period of time, without a Dr.'s release. (something to do with workmen's compensation, I believe) Anyhoo, POOH on his Employer. I hope this works out for you and your husband and he can concentrate on getting better without them hassling him. Take Care, Bobby
  8. I have to go to the Office of Homeland Security, here in Baton Rouge to train for Hurricane Emergencies, in case we get one this year.
  9. I changed my username from Bobby777, to avoid any more confusion about my gender. I am Beverly's sister, Barbara. Bobby was my nickname growing up. Thanks, Barb
  10. I changed my username from Bobby777. Everyone was thinking I was Beverly's brother and it was causing some confusion with pm's. Thanks
  11. I am sorry your Dad is not feeling well. I hate to see one of my parents hurting or not feeling good. I feel for you. That is a hard decision for you to make. Things usually work out for the best. I will be praying for you and your Dad. Love, Bobby
  12. I can't wait for the movie! This story was truly inspirational. Thanks for posting it. Bobby

  14. Hi All and thanks for your responses. Beverly is feeling much better. I think the steroids did the trick. She only has 3 or 4 more PCI's to get and then she will go in to be scanned on September the 9th. That will be her 1 Year anniversary of this dreaded disease. Bobby
  15. Carleen that was such a beautiful post. I am crying as I write this. I wish I could hug you. You have such a wonderful way with words. Perhaps that is a way for you to get through this pain. Write to us. Sometimes doing things to help others can be therapy and you can help so many just by the way you can get inside someone's heart with your words. Looking forward to more posts in the future. Love, Bobby
  16. Terri, Just wanted to let you know that I replied to your PM. I probably should have read your post first. Maybe what I said about the book had a little bit of truth to it?? That was kinda weird. Keep an eye out for those signs and write about them. Let us know when you finish that book. I know it will be great!! Love you, Bobby
  17. Beverly is still having the headaches, so the Dr. gave her another PCI and sent her over to the hospital to have an MRI done. It was all clear! Thank You God!! She is going to take a 2 day break from PCI's until the steroids take affect.
  18. I would say, just from your post, that there is most certainly a need. I do think the person should be compassionate to the cancer patient...and who could be more compassionate than someone who has lost a great love? I think it is a wonderful and most generous idea that you want to help others through this and I wish you good luck!! Love, Bobby
  19. Hi Nova. My sister is in the middle of her PCI treatments and is doing pretty good. She has headaches, which are bearable but bothersome. Her doctor gave her a few steroid pills to help with the headache and the shortness of breath. She is extremely tired, but I think that is all a part of it. I am sure Harry will do just fine..let him know we are all praying for him...and you too. Take care and keep us posted. Love, Bobby
  20. Hi Melinda. I have been thinking about you. I am so glad you posted. I wish I knew what to say to help you get through this, but words are useless, I suppose. I just wanted you to know that we all appreciate your efforts to make us feel better when you hurt so much. Please continue to come here and talk to us. I will pray that your hurt eases soon and the good memories can begin to take over. We all love you, Bobby
  21. Thanks for your replies. It helps so much to hear others that are going through this or have been through this. I am so glad I found y'all. I talked with Beverly last night and she started taking the Decadron. She said she woke up around 2 in the morning and was unable to go back to sleep. Right now her head is hurting pretty bad. I will be so glad when she gets through all of this. I will keep you all posted. Love, Bobby
  22. Thank you Connie and all for your responses. They were very helpful. I just spoke to Beverly and her Dr. gave her 16 low dose decadron (sp) pills. Funny that you mentioned the breathing problems Connie. She said when she got up this morning she was wheezing some. Her dr. checked her chest and said he wanted to keep an eye on her this week to make sure she doesn't develop the Radiation Pneumonitis. Is there anything she can do to help avoid this? Her husband thinks it is because she is laying down a lot and not moving. I know with a stroke patient this will happen, but she said she just doesn't have the energy to move too much.
