  1. Randy, Great article. Thanks for posting it. I too was told the type of cancer I had was not normal for smokers. Is there a normal I wonder if this means they won't research cancer in smokers once they distinquish the difference between smokers and non-smokers! Thanks Randy Libby

Good morning, I am glad to hear Judy in MI is ok and everyone also found Muriel. It is amazing how our minds have us worrying. Bud I just cant believe the Temps in the morning and you are still riding that bike with being sick? I give you a lot of credit. Glad to here you are getting a lot of media coverage for the DFW walk. Have a great interview, you represent Lungevity well I wish I cold fly there and walk! Judy in KW I sure hope you start sleeping better soon. I can relate to not getting adequate sleep. It can really wear you down and become very frustrating. Hang in there life will begin to get back to normal soon, just give it time. Hope you have a great day and weekend. Eric are you growing any more feathers and how are those webbed feet. You had me ROF laughing the other day. I really enjoyed all the pictures you have posted, it is beautiful country their, I may have to visit one day. Ann your hospital story is frightening. I always wonder what sets people off. Look at what we have all been through and we are not running around shooting people in fits of anger Enjoy shopping for your Ella's birthday and trying to make the 3 tiered fancy nancy cake. I would never be able to do it! Hope everyone has a great weekend. I am going up north to the cottage to lolly gag around, (hopefully do nothing!!). Libby

    Friday's Air

Good morning, I finally get to post earlier in the day. Ann today is my favorite day too and I am off so very happy about that. Halloween is my favorite holiday also. I love decorating and seeing the kids when they come to the door. I am very excited it is finally here. I am glad the weather is cooling down for you. It just seemed way unseasonal for the steamy weather, but maybe my memory is shore Oh yeah Happy Birthday enjoy the weekend (just in case I am not around this weekend) Bud I can't believe the temperature swings where you are. I would have never guessed that it gets that cold. Shows me what I know Glad you’re starting to feel better. I too am starting to struggle with maintaining the weight (Fall/Winter). Join the club!! Eric thank you for the time difference. So when I get home from work you are going to bed. Bruce they call Breen Bay the frozen tundra. But after reading your post we are not even close to cold.....32 degrees right now with a high of 47. Judy in KW I am thinking about you. Hugs. Everyone enjoy their day and weekend TGIF. Libby
  7. Hi Smitty, I am sorry to here you went through round 2 of this dreaded disease. I was 43 when diagnosed with stage 3a. I am now at 3 1/2 years remission, and I can honestly say my life is not the same. I think physically it took about 2 years to fully recover (need to have a steady exercise plan to help get back in shape) and as far as the memory goes mine is not that great and is not what it use to be. I also felt that the more I rested the worse I felt. I think if you are only one year out from your treatments your body is still healing, exercise after work at least 4 times a week if not everyday. That is what helps me get over my fatigue. I still get tired if I don’t get my 7-8 hours sleep. I think the harsh treatments of chemo and radiation do a lot to our minds and bodies. You almost have to accept that life will never be the same. I don’t like it, but I am working on that!!!! I always wondered what this chemo brain thing was that I heard other patients and nurses talking about. Scroll the Internet it is actually a condition from all the treatments. Hope this helps. Keep in touch. (hope I don’t have too many typos wish this thing had spell check, my fingers are not working today). Libby
  8. Mini size mounds bars. Yummy, even when I am dieting I can't turn one of them down
  9. Good afternoon everyone (maybe night time by Eric), Long week so far. Green Bay Packer game was intense right to the last second on Sunday. I didnt get home to late and Monday and Tuesday were difficult to catch up on sleep. I finally feel normal if I even know what normal is Real windy today and yesterday. Halloween stuff all over yard had to pull a lot in the garage. I guess I will have to set it all up again tomorrow or whenever the winds stop. My back yard gate blow open yesterday and my two dogs were running around the neighborhood. What a mess! Bud I sure hope you start feeling better soon. I know everyone at work and home was sick and I was washing my hand with sanitizer until I thought my skin was falling off (still paranoid about being sick) Judy in KW I sure hope everything goes easily for you. Not having my coffee in the morning would not make me happy either. That will take some getting use to. You have a great sense of humor, cant imagine what your new clothing would look like but atl east once you get it you can go outside. Glad to hear the Zofran is helping the nausea. Wow Ann 90 degrees, sound pretty steamy by you. I could use that right about now. Eric I always enjoy reading your posts and viewing your breathetaking pictures. What is the time difference by you. When it is 4 pm here what time is it there? Hope everyone has a restful evening. Libby
  10. Susan I am so sorry for your loss. My heart is saddened for you and your family. You were a great daugher and supporter for your Mom and I am sure she greatly appreciated it. Libby
  11. Good morning everyone, Been over a week since I posted. I have to come up with a day plan at work. I leave too early and then its 10 p.m. by the time I settle down (no wonder I am always so tired). Judy I sure hope you will begin to feel better soon. I did read your post to Eric and how discouraging some Doctors can be. GRRRRRR that makes me so angry, they should lose there licenses over it!!! There is always hope and there are always miracles. Half the statistics they use are old anyway. It is hard enough having this type of cancer and then to have the Doctors be idiots is uncalled for (don’t want to get me started on that). I do hope you adjust to your meds soon and I hope they stop robbing you with the outrageous cost. Judy in MI I hope you are feeling better from your cold. Every time I get a cold it goes right to my chest and lungs and it is never fun! Lots of fluid and REST. I know rest is hard for all of us but it does help. Lilyjohn I did read about Connie also. I am deeply saddened. Not doing much this weekend, last weekend went up to our cottage, so this weekend need to clean house and rake leaves. Going to a Green Bay Packer game against the Vikings on Sunday that should be fun. Tonight a choir pop concert with my daughter Megan. Enjoy your weekend.
  12. Good day Judy. Sure hope you get some sleep soon..... Sleeping is always a problem for me. I hope you are feeling good. You sure are having wonderful weather. That is my kind of weather, I really miss Florida. I lived in Sarasota over 10 years (my daughter was born there), not sure why I am here!!! Missed a couple of days and going back through the post to catch up. I dont like missing to many days or I feel disconnected. Weekend was wonderful again high in the mid 60's I know the cold weather will be here soon. It will go from 55 to 30 - Brrrrrrh. Snowflake (Becky) contrats on your marriage and I hope you are having a wonderful honeymoon. Enjoy the remainder of the day. I am going to rake more leaves. Libby
  13. Hi Leslie, I have the same diagnosis and did the Carbo/Taxol. My first choice was the Cisplatin/Navelbine because I was told it would have less side affects (hair loss, nauseau, numbness, etc). Once discovered that I had 3A they said I need to do the Carbo/Taxol, this was the most aggresssive to save the other treatment for later if needed. I know the Naveline is easier on you, but not sure about the Cisplatin. Wishing your mom the best during your treatment. Libby
  14. Good morning and afternoon to Eric, Another beautiful day today in Green Bay. All ready in the 70's I think today is the last of the 70's. Eric my daughters name is Megan (i will put up picture of me and her eventually) she did wonderful at her singing gig at homecoming game. We lost 7 to 21, not the end of the world Judy I am glad you enjoyed the party, kids are wonderful and they always make us feel good being around them. Everyone always has a family member that is unreasonable!!!!! Dont make yourself sick over it, it is not worth it. Going to decorate outside for Halloween today. Everyone enjoy the rest of thier weekend. Libby
  15. Hi everyone, Just wanted to put a quick post. Havent been on in few weeks. Weather is wonderfuld in Green Bay. High of 75 today. Right now it is 73 degrees. This is an absolute miracle for this area in October. Yeah!! I am pretty sure Judy in Michigan is experiencing the same weather. This weekend is busy weekend for my daughter (10th grade). Homecoming football game tonight that she sings for the start of the game, homecoming dance tomorrow night, and then her first concert Sunday night to see the Goo Goo Dolls without MOM:( Have a great day. 18. Hi Judy in MI, Cold here in Wisconsin also. Raining and cold. Not looking forward to winter. Havent posted in a while. Back on my poor me box!! I need to stop doing that. Between by Doctors appointment and Aunt being diagnosed with lung cancer I completley shut down. Ugghhh (bad, bad, bad). On a good note I start therapy on the 22nd and found a support group that I am going to try out on 10/6. I am looking forward to being able to cope with this fear and moving forward with my life. If that is possible. Not doing much this weekend. We are having a German Exchange Student stay with us from Hamburg Germany on Sept 26th for 16 days. I am really looking forward to it. This looks like a good weekend to start riping the house apart Enjoy your weekend. Maybe you will get lucky and the sun will come out! Libby

  22. Ned, After reading your report I should have nothing to complain about. I am glad to hear you had some shrinkage in your right lung and left is stable. Shopping for new wheels sounds like fun. I just got back from the library and I picked up a book called "Positivity" by Barbara Fredrickson, PH.D. It is a book on research on how to embrace hidden strength of positive emotions, how to overcome negativity and thrive. Sounds like a book for me...... Have a good night. Not sure what time it is there Libby
  23. Judy in MI, Please dont worry yourself to hard. We always worry (kind of hard not to) and it usually turns out ok. I will pray for good news from your CT scan.
