So my dad is so far a 1 year survivor and it feels great to say it.. Don brought it to my attention and im glad that you all accept him as a survivor.. cuz he keeps on keepin on ! =) Stay positve and believe always.
  2. I also dont know much about the strokes but I did want to say that combo of chemo and radiation can work wonders. And both of you need to stay positive and determined...never give up you both will be in my prayers tonight. Christy

  5. I just wanted to be able to post something because it is actually a great improvement since my dads chemo.. even though we might be battling it more advanced here shortly.. but thats neither here or there. Anyways my dad was on oxygen since the radiation had scarred his lung But as of lately my dad has been going with out!! He tries to go as long as he can without it sometimes up to 3 hours!! He still uses it at night though which is good it would scare me greatly if he didnt. But this is a start heh? And to mention the doctors had told him that he would probably need it forever.. ha i love when people beat the odds. God Bless you all.. in my prayers everynight
  6. Yay I love good news. Keep up the positive outlook and we will all keep up the prayers for her. I love reading postings in good news.
  7. As most of you know we are waiting the results of my dads testing to see if the cancer has spread but that wont be until the 12th so im a little impatient. What i was wondering was what is the symptoms of bone mets? My dad has pains in his back its a spot on his 3rd lumbar vertebrea... but it only hurts when he coughs. does the bone hurt all the time when you have cancer mets? I just want to know NOW whats goin on ya know? all your help is greatly appreciated
  8. I dont think that losing your voice is a side effect from radiation.. i think that is a mistake if that happens. but i dont really know for sure. You and your are in my prayers
  9. Its never to late katieb =) thanks I dont have any news but just and update on whats going on. My dad had his full body scan today that took over and hour to scan his whole body. Then on tuesday he has his chest xray. Then after that he doesnt meet with his doctor until the 12th.. Unbelievable isnt it...We have to wait that long for the results?? Its going to kill me to wait that long for the outcome.. ive been freaked out enough lately. But i guess no news is good news for now huh?Im going to scan his picture this week too. =) blessings to you all.
  10. Thanks for being there again. I will def let you know the results. I would imagine we will know all here pretty shortly. Thanks for all the words of encouragement it really means alot.
  11. I believe that growth is different in every person since every cancer and every one is different. It is best to start treatment as soon as possible. My dads growth was extensive over a 3 month period before his insurance finally kicked in to start getting some treatment.
  12. Well as you all know the time has come where my dad has his series of scans starting tommorrow to find out if the pain in his back is cancer or not. And to see if it has spread anywhere else thoughout his body. Im soo terribly scared. I just dont think I can handle seeing him go through all the treatments again in fact i dont think he can handle it. Hes told me that he doesnt want to do it again. His last chemo was 6 months ago and now it might be starting all over again just when things seemed to be getting back to normal. I guess i always knew they werent normal i knew he still had cancer but its like i forgot about it you know? in a way.. I coulld keep rambling about this and all my emotions and thoughts going through my head but Im not.. not for now anyway because i know you guys will help me though the outcome so until then PRAYER BELIEF AND AFFIRMATION will do. I just hope that I can post the outcome in the GOOD NEWS section I have always wanted to. =) anyhow prayers to you all...thinking of this board always!

  17. My dad has been having severe pains in his back mostly when he coughs. They are shooting pains. I was just wondering if this is a side affect from cancer spread to the vertebrea or if anyone knows anything? Im so confused and scared I wonder when my life will be happy again.
  18. God still sits on the throne. Each of you is going through a tough time right now but God is getting ready to bless you in a way that only He can. Keep the faith. My instructions were to pick six people that I wanted God to bless, and I picked you. Please pass this to at least six people you want to be blessed and a copy back to me. This prayer is powerful, and prayer is one of the best gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot of rewards. Let's continue to pray for one another. Here is the prayer: Father, I ask you to bless my friends, relatives and email buddies reading this right now. Show them a new revelation of your love and power. Holy Spirit, I ask you to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them your peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through your grace. Bless their homes, families, f inances, their goings and their comings. In Jesus' precious name. Amen >
  19. Thanks everyone.. I understand now. So does that mean without sugery that it will always be there? Or what exactly is remission... Good to hear about the combination of chemo and radition being promising that is what my dad had. God bless you all
  20. Can someone explain to me why some cancers are inoperable? I have never been able to understand that. My dad is but i dont understand why.. and he dont either. Thanks Blessings to you all

  23. Hey i live in omaha and so does my dad. Can i ask what hospital she goes to? Cuz my dad seems to get no hope from the doctors either and I think he needs to switch also. Not eating was common for my dad he usually started eating during the end of his chemo cycle. It was scary for awile but he made it though it. Prayers to you and your family
