  5. Hi Becky. I am happy to hear that there is a course of action finally going on. We never know whats going to work for us. I like my Oncologist and would probably go along with her suggestions. Good luck with the new treatment and I look forward to posts on your progress. Nancy O.

    you know me.

Hi Friend. Just keep trying no matter what you SO does. It's a bad addiction and number one is to stop beating yourself up about it. I quit and went back many, many times but refused to quit trying. My husband still smokes and I try to stay out of the room he's in when he's smoking. I don't feel that I have the right to dictate to him where or when he can smoke. I have several of the rooms of the house where he won't light up and I go there when he is smoking. It's hard and I crave every day, but so far I've managed not to smoke. The thing is it's my decision no matter what anyone else says or does. Keep trying, I'm on your side. Nancy O.

  12. Thinking of you Shellie, take a coulple deep breaths and hold one for a few seconds before you exhale. Some rest should help also.

    online store

Hey Katie and Rick good job with the lc buttons. I checked out the new on-line store and think it's a great start. Will be checking it out more often to see what new. Thank you for the buttons that you sent to me in the mail. Nancy O.
  15. Okay Fay that was too cool. Can't keep laughing like this, I might start peeing in my pants.
  16. Well Bob, since the other ladies here got first dibs on all your body and face scans that leaves very little to go for. I guess I'll have to go to ebay and bid right along with the rest of the world. Oh well that's just the way it goes sometimes. Just hoping along with everyone else that this is simple and kick some butt will you. Nancy O.
  17. Praying for good scans and thinking positive all the way.
  18. Not great with crafts as far as ideas go. But I'm pretty good at following directions. Could put something together with a little help.
  19. I think the first thing you can do is take a couple deep breaths and then maybe try prayer for inner peace. This helps me when I feel overwhelmed. I know that I told you that my husband and I had and have no health insurance. Well we were married just about one year when I was diagnosed and I felt terrible about it also. I felt terrible about the financial burden that we would be faced with and wondered if he would be able to hang in there with me. He did and we got through it and we will be married four years this June. Wait until you find out for sure what is wrong. It may be something that is easily and reasonably treated. If you have faith in a higher power, now is the time to use it. God Bless and let us know what the diagnosis is.
  20. Hi Cathy, just wanted you to know that I'm here with the rest of the folks to lean on when you need to. It seems that you have already been given a lot of positive feed back, so just hang on and take it one day at a time and one thing at a time. Sending good thoughts your way. Nancy O.
  21. Add me to you Happy Birthday well wishers Becky. Good luck with your next appointment and I wish you many, many, many good birthdays yet to come.
  22. Hi. I am sorry to hear about your situation. My husband and I have no health insurance either. I was in the process of choosing health care when I became ill and was diagnosed with lung cancer. My husband has Wilsons disease and no one will cover him. We were able to pay some of the bills as we went along with the testing to find out how to treat my cancer, but the hospital bill was another story. We talked to the financial person at the hospital and was able to pay 60% of the total bill. They actually knocked 40% off. We had to come up with rest however rather quickly. Some hospitals will take payments and will set up a payment plan. Talk to whoever is going to treat you. Doctors and hospitals, radiation or chemo docs too. See if you can pay them a little at a time. Also disability, Social security or maybe your county hospital. Those would have been my next choices. Good luck to you and let us know the diagnosis when you find out. Don't dispair when you are not yet sure whats going on. I know clubbing can be caused by lung infection also, not just cancer.

    Statistics

I have to agree about not looking at the statistics as they are now. I know that after my surgery I was reading everything I could get my hands on about my type of lung cancer and stage and I just about gave up after reading about the survival rate for stage llla. It made me very depressed and scared. Something to watch out for.
