    Journey's End

Deepest condolences from the Terry (T-Bone) Hall family. Fran
  5. Everybody says I look just like my Mama. However, I have an old photo of Mama and Daddy right after they married and folks that see it and don't know Mama say I look like Daddy. Personality wise: Good and bad from both.
  6. I'm particularly fond of Jacob Fussell playing blues on his guitar......and he just happens to be my nephew. I much prefer instrumentals over vocals. But of vocals: Jackson Browne, Diana Krall, Sara McLaughlin, Carly Simon, Nora Jones, Rod Stewart (ballads), and most favorite has to be Aaron Neville with Linda Ronstadt.
  7. This is easy! I painted one ear gold and went as .........drum roll, please.......Golda Meier.
  8. A spy. Must have been the Cold War influence. Actually, I'd still like to be one. Fran
  9. Hope your Mother can get some relief from her illness.....and her doctors/hospitalists! I've just recently started a regimen of 600 mg Neurontin TID for idiopathic neuropathy (which means "no known cause") for a severe stabbing pain in one toe. The neurologist says it could be coming from a pinched nerve @ L5 or L6 and another in cervical which causes tingling and numbness in left arm along with itching on thumb and first finger. Could be on it the rest of my life or until I decide I'm willing to have surgery. The doctor said I could try to back off of it after a year or so just to see if I still need it. All I know is that now if I skip a dose, my toes reminds me sharply that it is in charge. Fran
  10. McDonald's french fries. And, Shelliemacs, I'm a food scientist and do the same thing as I just don't want to have to think about it when I get home. And Lean Cuisine has some pretty good ones out now.
  11. So happy for you, Snowflake! We need more news like this all around. As we say down here in the South: "Now ain't that just somepin?"
  12. Hey, Lucie, you so fine, you so fine you blow my mind. Hey, Lucie!
  13. My biggest peeve and the thing that'll get me on my soap box the quickest is stereotyping southerners and women as dumb and illiterate. Next in line is the "it is somebody's fault...not mine" attitude that is so prevalent in today's world. Fran
  14. It is a whole meal: Mama's fried chicken, baked sweet potatoes, collard greens and hot water bread. Fran
  15. Goodness, this is hard. 1) Without Remorse by Tom Clancy 2) River God by Wilbur Smith 3) The JRR Tolkien Trilogy (OK 3 books there but they work as a group) And if we can take a book protagonist with us, mine would have to be Dirk Pitt of NUMA by Clive Cussler. Those "opaline green eyes" just do it for me! Fran

  18. In defense of large corporations, they generally do not make it public knowledge just how much they do give. My company, Perdue Farms, is working with Second Harvest to provide chicken (frozen) and the trucks to deliver it. And I'm not talking about just a truckload (40,000 lbs). There will be several truckloads. My donations, as small as they are, are going to an area just north of New Orleans by about 90 miles. I have family there. My folks are OK but there are about 5000 people in shelters. My cousin works in the emergency service and has not been home since last Sunday. She says she'll probably be at the office another week...to help handle things. Then she'll go home to check on her house. They are not flooded but did receive quite a bit of wind damage. My niece in Oxford, MS has 8 friends from N.O. living with her and her husband. One couple has a 1 yr old and another on the way. I've offered my extra room and bath for one of the other couples. They were in Florida on vacation when the hurricane hit and have nothing to go home to. Y'all take care, Fran
  19. Ooooops, my bad. Ok, Ok, hmmmmmmm........ Which is best: oldest, youngest, middle child?
  20. Flowers because you don't have to feel guilty when they die when you forget to water them...they would have anyway. Also, having a life as a florist once upon a time, I made more money on flowers than plants..... Fran
  21. Summer or Winter: Winter because you can always put on more clothes than you can take off! Cats or dogs: Cats....and if you need a reason you've obviously not lived with one. Which is better: facials or body massages?
  22. True.....waaaaay to true. TPBM has tried on-line dating.
  23. Think of how an angel sits on top of the Christmas tree and do the same thing with a can of beer and a chicken. Then rub down the exterior of the chicken with salt, pepper, oil. Roast in oven or on grill. I actually use apple juice instead of beer and it works great. Fran
  24. I would love to help and I promise to get some recipes to you as well. Or do I just need to add them as I input others when helping? Might as well be doing something useful on this new computer rather than just playing games. Fran P.S. I'll e-mail the rest of the T-Bone clan for recipes.
  25. Bette; Please know that my family and I so appreciate all the encouragement, humor and affection you showed to us and Terry (T-Bone) during his fight. Your kind and gentle words scattered among the humorous insights were just the kind of things that he connected with. Enjoy the sunrises and sunsets as well as the noons, the 2:00's, and all the in-betweens. Peace be with you, Kind Lady. Fran
