  1. Heyall, been chilly here for a while, high of 40 for the last couple days, might only get to 35 today. Got a few inches of snow last night. Was all rain till last night, not melting yet either. Must be the global warming thingy. Don't think I would do too well on jury duty, I most times believe that if they have enough reason to capture someone, that's good enough for me to lock em up. Guess I'm kinda narrow minded sometimes. Most times I have an amazingly annoying ability to see both sides of every argument, tends to keep a person forever wishywashy. Oh well what I think isn't important anyway, whew, thank God for that. I always like to use the importance test when I start thinking I am too important. Thant just consists of putting you finger in a glass of water, pulling it back out and seeing who leaves the biggest dent. Trying to get my Subaru ready to sell, just need a little nice weather so I can get it cleaned out and go get the oil changed, maybe tomorrow. Hard to get out to do anything when the weather is so cold, I just can't breathe. Yall have a great day, great to see you back Ann, love all the news on here, sure beats the nonsense on facebook. Donny
  2. Great to hear Bud, so I assume the shingles have cleared up. Another grade A here, rainy but calm above freezing so no snow but chilly. Went to a local car show this weekend, not a lot of cars but some very nice quality in the ones there. My favorite was a 2 tone purple 53 Studebaker Commander, really top notch ride. They were so far ahead of their time in their styling. When I was kid I had a stepdad that had a Super Hawk and he always drove way too fast, I shoulda been scared but instead I was just thrilled. Guess I've always had a thrill-seeker personality. The lilacs and tulips and poppies are starting to bud, out in the yard. Looking like a fair show this year. We don't do anything with them, just let them come in each year and see how they do. We had some beautiful tulips last year. Red, white and purple varigated flowers. Good day all and stay happy... Donny
  3. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Toooo funny Bud, at least a week.
  4. I'm laughing with ya Judy, I don't know about anyone else but I didn't notice the Wed, Thursday thing till last night. Fog has set in in these ole heads I guess. Pretty nice here this morning, no snow and sposed to get to the 50s. I got out for a bit yesterday, it went okay, no negatives to report. lol Sure seems I've been awful whiney these last few months, maybe I'm accepting things a little better, still tough realizing these limitations but what the heck, make limitade, right? Anyone here watch the sitcom The Middle, cracks me up those people are so average and weird it's hilarious. Maxwell is flourishing in his new hairdo, seems to learn things that aren't taught to him but try to make him sit, he just stares at me waiting to get a treat for being cute instead. Hope yall have a great day. Donny
  5. J in KW so sorry you are stuggling with your eyes still. J in MI really sorry about the pain. Pain is what diagnosed my cancer initially, and it was totally unrelated. I just beleive that God works in very mysterious ways and needed to get my attention. Laurie I'm so jealous of all of you who live on the right coast. So many to meet but my chances of ever leaving good ole Wyoming are about zippadelli. I wouldn't trade the wind and the winters here for the rest of the country put together. Speaking of the wind it has been pretty strong the last few days, then there are periods like right now when it stops altogether for an hour or so, then comes back with a vengeance. I marvel in the power of the invisible forces, wind, water, earthquakes, floods, it is all amazing. I played my gig last Friday for the cancer survivors luncheon. The whole affair was just beautiful, I struggled terribly with my music but everyone was very gracious and appreciative and I love them for it. I have been stuggling since then too. Today I bought my concentrator from my oxygen company instead of renting it anymore, I lost my insurance and can't afford 450. per month rent. My oxygen company has been very good to me and we made a deal on all of their services so that they will continue to take care of me and my breathing needs, it just will be more affordable now that I have to foot all the bills. Wulp, take care all and see ya soon. Donny
  6. Heyall, beautiful morning here in ghost town, (we had the name first). The liar on TV about the weather says it's sposed to get nasty again this week. I'd love to have a job where you get paid to be wrong most of the time and never even have to apologize for your wrongevity. My hometown was named for a Lieutenant in the cavalry, his name was Caspar Collins, somewhere along the line it was mis-spelled and just stayed that way. There was a cavalry fort here that was named for him and it was spelled right. It has been preserved as a museum and is a nice attraction as well as being educational. Hope everyone has a good day.. Donny
  7. Heyall, muchly late here today. Was an explosion about a block from my house last night, a used gasoline tank at a company that services gas pumps and tanks and the like. Shook my house pretty good, fireball about a hundred feet in the air. Fire department had it under control in prolly 20 minutes, they were really on the ball. No injuries or other damage that I know of. Hey Eric, my older brother's birthday was May 8th 1950 and one of his sons was May 8th musta been 1981 or so. My Granny's was May 9th many moons ago and my sister's is May 6th of 61 I think. I'm lousy at remembering years. Weather here has gotten chilly again, snowed a spit or two last night and again tonight, only got to about 45 here today maybe 50 tomorrow. Whenever the weather gets too cold I get sick as hell again so I been down the last couple days. I'm ready for the weather to just level off and get normal. Laterz,, guess I'll turn off the light. Click.. Donny
  8. Yayyy for Will, sorry Bud, what a nagging painful problem. Yep, really really beautiful here in the springtime especially. I talked to SSDI and they confirmed that I have to wait, dang. but I know it now so I am better equipped to deal with it. When you have a dilemma, make dilemmanade. Donny
  9. Heyall, nother totally grey day here, but if you say that right with the right frame of mind it becomes grade A. Oddly beautiful and calm. Went well at the pulmo yesterday, he told me that the lung cancer diagnoses automatically qualifies a person for Medicare, I'll have to check into that. I guess my fainting spells lately are a good thing, well sort of, he said that if a person has something "go down the wrong pipe" that our vocal cords are designed to close off the throat to protect our lungs. Problem for me is mine havenlt been automatically opening back up when the danger is gone, instead they wait till I pass out before they open back up. I just really need to be more careful about swallowing and that means everything including saliva. Okay I can do that. Here is another Wyoming snippit. We have the world's largest mineral hot spring in Thermopolis, Wyoming. It is bubbling up 3.6 million gallons of hot water per day at a temperature of 127 degrees Farenheit. It also contains 27 different minerals and some say it is extremely healthy to drink though it is very sulferous and smelly. There is a rehabilitation center there for physical recovery and I've used the pools there to help with my recovery from knee injuries and a broken leg, it is amazing how much progress can be made in a short amount of time. In case no one can tell I am extremely prejudiced about Wyoming, I was born and raised here and when I was teen I couldn't wait to leave yet I could never stay gone for long. I finally just gave in and decided that I am a native so I might as well love it. I really think everyone should feel as good about where they live. I'd love to see out tourism board change our slogun to, " Welcome to Wyoming, spend your money and go home". Just kidding, but I do love the wide open spaces and the smalltown feeling here. My hometown, Casper is about 50 to 60 thousand people and still acts like a village of 5 or 6 thousand. Gosh I guess I've gone into a heck of a diatribe today, sorry. See yall later. To rephrase a line of Stephen Stills, if you can't be in the place you love, love the place you are. Donny
  10. Max at almost a year. Brand new haircut too, he was shedding clumps and I couldn't brush it out.
  11. Heyall, I sure agree about having something to look forward to keeping us going. For me it's a family reunion in Colorado in June and meeting one of my stepdaughters for the first time. The oxygen thingy for me makes traveling such a nuisance, I have to make sure that I have enough or am connected well enough to get what I need. Seems now this breathing thingy has become a big part of my life, heck I always thought it just came with the territory. Had a weird experience last night. My neighbor came over about 8 oclock and said, "you can call 911 and tell them Brandy Taylor is at my house, they are looking for her." I asked what the address was over there and he told me and then he said, "don't tell them I told you". I was a bit freaked out, I didn't call 911 but I did call the police dispatch and told them the story and they said they would investigate. No one ever showed up over there that I know of. It was so weird. He is a pretty strange fellow and the whole situation scared me but I didn't want to over-react. The guy will be walking down the street and stop and talk to trees or cars or bushes. He seems to be a few fries short of a happy meal, he doesn't seem dangerous just maybe a his wheels are too close together for the track he's on. Well I'm seeing my pulmo today and get another chest exray, I really wish this congestion and cough would clear up. I'll prolly post later to report his findings, hopefully good news. Later all, One good deed leads to another, Donny
  12. Funny how recently Judy in Mich. and I are always posting at the same time. I can't even see her house from here.. He He
  13. Hey all, sure is great to see so many different people opening and sharing the air. Takes pressure off of Judy in KW and makes the whole thing feel less formal. I decided to share a little info about where I live. Wyoming is big and empty. Doing census right now and I'm afraid for the 1st time we may be over a half million people in the state. We've been hanging in at about 499 thousand for a long time. In the early 1900s I believe about 1914 - 16 there was a major oil strike found about 30 miles north of my hometown, Casper. The economy grew so fast and furious that for the only time in history the U.S. govt. issued 1 million dollar bills but they were only circulated in Casper, Wy. This is where the Rockefellers made their fortune. Wyoming is also the home of the 1st U.S. national park, Yellowstone, established in 1872. We are the 2nd highest state in average elevation, 6700 ft is the average elevation while Colorado is 6800 ft. Our local unemployment rate dropped by half a percent last month, construction is still going pretty well here. Our economy is based largely on minerals, mining, oil, uranium, coal, soda ash, etc. Well nuff of that stuff, I am wiped out from the last couple days, I have been out on the go for 3 days straight and man it has taken it out of me. It felt good to actually be doing things but it sure has wiped me out. I talked to the office mgr. at work yesterday and it's official, I don't have insurance anymore. Guess I better not have anymore dying spells. Well at least until I qualify for Medicare. Have a great day everyone and hug someone today, they need it as much as you do. Donny
  14. Hey all, another gorgeous day here it gets down to the mid 20s at night and then 65 to 70 during the day the last few days. Since I live here on the high plains that changes fast, may get snow again by the end of the week with high temps in the 40s. Well lately I've been dealing with buying a newer vehicle and didn't want to jinx it by talking about it but, I bought a pickup in New Hampshire where the entire deal was done with phone calls and online and trust and God. My bank approved my loan in about ten minutes and the purchase was made about 3 weeks ago but I didn't get the truck until last night. I had it shipped out here and have been sitting on pins and needles hoping I didn't make the biggest mistake of my life. I appears that I didn't, I love the truck and think I got a good deal and everything seems to be in great shape on it just as the Carfax said it was and as the salesman told me. I did a lot of research and it took me almost 3 months to make my final decision but I think I did okay. I sure have to agree Judy that Eric is quite missed here. I've been lurking quite a lot and reading everyday even when I don't post and it has been pretty interesting to get all of the information from around our country and his. Well going to try to enjoy my day and hope everyone does so as well. By the way I sure do sympathize with you Bud, my shingles were mostly on my front and sometimes it hurt to even wear clothes. Nasty buggers they are. Later all. Donny

    6 Month Scans

SO SO COOL!! I love the good news.. Thank you Dana Donny
  16. Yes, sounds like good news in the strange way that we receive news. Praying this will clear up quickly. Donny
  17. Oh geesh Bud, I've had shingles before, no fun at all. I too thought if I ignored it well enough it would heal itself. Mostly not. I find most of my stuff doesn't heal itself anymore, must be something about aging. Like my buddy Smoky always says, these golden yrs, they sure aren't for babies. Went to dinner yesterday with Mary's family to celebrate her dad's 81st birthday had a pretty good time in spite of a pretty bad waitress at Red Lobster. She got 4 out of 7 orders wrong and we had to ask numerous times to get any Iced Tea and Coffee and Water. Thankful for good company and good senses of humor. It was almost like we were being Punk'd. Feeling a bit better lately, still bubblin in my lungs like an old coffee pot, just weird but don't feel horrible. I'll try to shoot some new pics of Maxwell today and put him on later. Have a good day wherever you are. Donny
  18. Maxwell Edison at 4 months... Max is a rescued treasure from the local dog pound. He's a mix of Welsh Corgi Cardigan and Border Collie. He's almost a year old now and I need to get some more pics of him taken, we just got him shaved for summer and he's really cute.
  19. Hey all, hope things are going well. Doin okay here. Yup, blueberry / Raspberry french yogurt cake sounds like a diet breaker to me. So wierd about all the airline problems being caused by invisible grit, least that's what I heard it called on the news. Couple airlines have made test flights to see if they receive any damage but I don't know how much I'd wanna be one of the guinea pigs on the first flights that are carrying people. Seem to me when a plane falls out of the sky that could hurt. Starting to get a little excited about playing next week at the Cancer survivors luncheon. Just gives me more reason to keep on trying. I'm so winded all the time that my phrasing when I sing had top all be altered to fit the amount of air I have to work with. Gonna try to post a pic of my new guitar here so bear with me. Have a great day all.
  20. So 2 ole mates was sittin in a pub back about 1991 and one says, "I think we need to tell Saddam Hussein he needs to get his act together." So they call up ole Saddam and say, you know whut Saddam we don't like whatcher doin and if you don't straighten up we is gonna come and invade you. Saddam says well how big is yer army? The scot says well me and my mate jest come up with this idear but I'm sure everone in the pub would come along with us. Saddam says, I got a million man standing army that is equipped with all the latest military hardware, like tanks and guns and mortars and such. The Scot says well I better call ya back. Next day Eric calls ole Saddam back and says okay well I rounded up everbody in the village and we got pickups and tractors and some boats and a plane so we is gonna come. Saddam tells em, well I have a fully functional navy and air force equipped with battleships and bombers and fighter jets and another 1 and a half million men. Eric says well I'm gonna have to call ya back. He calls ole Saddam back a couple days later and says, well Saddam we're gonna have to call this all off,,,,, We don't know whut we wud do with 2 and a half million prisoners..................
  21. Morning, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUD,, WOW I love the new format / ideas on the board, as always great job Katie. We are sposed to have a pretty nice day, maybe 50, then snow again tonight. At least the snow is gone in a day down here but is still accumulating in the higher mountains. We have been so far below normal for years, Vegas is probably really getting mad at us since all of the water they use in their fountains comes from up here. I got a new camera today, maybe one of these days I'll figger out how to post photos so everyone can see my new puppy before he dies of old age. Have a whole day ya'll .. Donny
  22. Yayyyyy Ned, wondeful that recovery is going well. I'll keep praying it stays well. Donny
  23. Morning all, 33 here and a few inches of fresh snow. Rained most of yesterday. Went to the onc. yesterday, PET scan looks great NED, woot woot. Still shows lots and lots of scarring and inflammation but no cancer, I'll take it. Everyone is all hung up on getting ready for Easter, coloring eggs and whatnot. I just decided to get the kids some LSD, then they can see whatever colors they want. Maybe instead of hiding eggs I'll just take em for a ride in the car and let em throw fresh eggs, bet they'd be just as happy. Whadaya think? Have a great day all. I'm plannin to. Donny
  24. My turn to vent now, because of the new legislation my insurance was just canceled. They are trimming the high risk patients off while they still can. At least I'm not eligible for Medicare so I'll probably get to pay the hefty fine along with all of my newfound medical bills. My insurance was the only thing keeping me afloat now I'm pretty well F^&*&^&ed, dang and I forgot to pick up KY jelly. GGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
  25. Wow, sounds like a few people need to control their tempers. I mean the angry conservatives. Seems to me that the changes can probably be repealed before they even go into affect with a changing of the guard. But hey what do I know, just a dumb old hick out here in the sticks. Hope Judy and Katie are having a better day today and got a chance to relax a bit yesterday. Had a PET scan yesterday, I'll see my radiation onc. next Wed. for the results, I guess if there is anything urgent I'll hear something sooner. Thought I had an appt. with my lungologist, gees I can't think of the actual term for a lung doc, my pour sieve of a brain. Anyway, here's to praying for another NED result. Ya'll have a wonderful day. P.S. About 30 outside headed for 60. Another great day in paradise. Donny
