  1. Cool I posted Friday air and when i went to submit it I lost it. I kept looking for things and I found it and was able to submit it. I'm not sure if I hit save by mistake or what but it was saved so I began I new post and then at the bottom I used the button to load and Voila there it was so this may be what has happened to others who have lost their posts when they try to submit them, maybe not. Anyway movin on...
  2. Why am I the first here? It isn't even early. Oh well, sposed to cool down into the 80s today should be pretty nice. Mary's been off all week and we've done a whole lot of nothing, perfect. I've woke up every day for quite some time so life is good. Went out yesterday for my birthday, went to Glenrock Wy., a little town about 20 miles east and went to 4 Aces for an early dinner. They have an old fashioned stone oven for pizza and the pizzas are delicious. Then went to a little park and sat along side of Deer Creek and listened to the water and watched the small town people being small town people. It was cool. Came home and watched The Invention of Lying, crazy movie. My little sis came over and brought us a New York style cheesecake. Life is sooooo good. Think today I might sit on the porch and play with the dog for a while. Today I am truly loving this retirement life, and I don't find it necessary to try to fill it up with activities to make it good. God knows there is plenty to do if and when I feel like doing them but the doc said my main objective for the short term is to make sure I stay ahead of the cancer and let my lung tissue heal. Ok I'm doing it. Have a great day all. Donny
  3. Good luck with the CT Ned, I had a PET/CT last week and I'll get the results next week. I'm very confident at this point because my doc usually calls me if there is bad news. I've decided to live like I'll be around long enough to grow some new lungs, maybe a million years or so. I RSVPed to my high school reunion planners for my 40th next summer, even going to try to get involved in the planning. Today I renewed my drivers license for 5 more years and I hate to waste anything, must be the Scots in me. Also did go out and buy my new vehicle a few months ago, love it but I still love my Subaru too Ned. Main reason for buying something new is that Mary can't drive a stick so the truck is four wheel drive and automatic, but my Subaru is definitely the best vehicle I've ever driven in snow.. Way way good on slick streets. Happy birthday tomorrow Stephanie, mine is on Thursday seems I know alot of people who's parents enjoyed their Christmas. LOL Well happy happy everyone, see ya soon. Donny
  4. Why didn't someone wake me up? When did I get on this bus? Who are all you people? A floating bus? I feel like I woke up in 1969 again. I definitely need that white powder, it's the only thing that keeps my foot odor under control, what, oh, a different powder, nevermind. Think I'll curl up in the corner with my guitar, While My Guitar Gently Weeps anyone?
  5. Crack me up,,,, HaHaHaHaHa
  6. Came here earlier today, read Judy's post and had to go take a nap, now I think I can respond. Makes me soooo jealous that there is so much energy here, but I try to think of the positive side of it and say, "that'll be me soon". Nasty little storm just blew thru here, 60, maybe 70 mph winds, rain, whirly air, it was bad enough that Maxwell was scared and he doesn't seem to be afraid of anything. Was gone just as soon as it got here. I have to agree with everyone Eric, you are never boring. I think it must be a hoot taking your classes. You are a very entertaining speaker, not often that someone can entertain just by wallpapering. We are a fortunate lot here. PET scan tomorrow at 11, I feel very confident it will show the same things the last one did, lots of inflammation in my left lung, mostly dead tissue in my right lung and noooooooooo cancer. If it does then I still have a chance. Pulmonologist said the lungs are very resciliant and I should be good as new in about a million years, just gotta live that long. Hope everyone is having a bang up day, well cept for you Bud cuz you're prolly on your bike. Donny
  7. Dog antics are soooo fun. I had a dog years ago that chased rocks, even underwater. Amazed me that he could find the same rock underwater. He was a Chesepeake and Newfoundland mix, beautiful gigantic maroon dog. You know Becky when they are someone else's kids, you don't have to take the problem with you. I'm doing little better today, figgered out that I've been having an allergic attack on top of everything else. Took some Benedryl this morning and slept all day but it has sure help me level out some. PET scan coming up this week then see the onc next week. Mary really wants to go and try to explain just how bad I really am. I guess I tend to gloss it over some cause I hate being such a big whiner most of the time. Anyway, still in the nineties here but I'm feeling some better and I'll take all I get. Donny
  8. Had plans today, ended up too sick to go anywhere, sorta tired of having to breathe.
  9. Mornin, been up since 4:00, sweety went outside to find her car had been gone through overnight, nothin of importance was taken. Mainly it was just rifled. I had recently learned those things Eric, except the 1st president. I watch history channel most of the time and they teach me alot of interesting facts that nobody really needs to know. For example that the great dustbowl of the 1930s was a manmade disaster not a weather catastrophy. Seems Woodrow Wilson was largely to blame for that one. Anywho I've strung together several days of feeling pretty okay and for me that's a big plus. Sure, I still can't breathe worth a dang and I cough a heck of a lot but at least I'm awake and feel like getting out of bed. Time to get a day on, specially since it's only gonna get to 85 or 90 again today, that's plenty hot enough for me, I like the 70s just fine but them 90s and 100s are just too much. Later friends. Donny
  10. I have to agree with Snowflake, we are totally consistently ignorant. When we aren't we are arrogant enough to argue until the competition gives up. That said I do know that in the states we do have large white cattle that are French and are called Charlois or something of that sort and they are worth their weight in flagging. In my years of seismograph working I learned that that particular breed of cattle don't eat flagging tape which is used by all seismograph crews to mark their way around. However I did also work in a restaurant for a spell that was called the White Buffalo, come to your own conclusion. But of course when I was in elementary school we were taught that America was discovered by Christopher Columbus who was obviously an alcoholic, when he left home he didn't know where he was going, when he got over here he didn't know where he was. When he went home he didn't know where he had been, and he got a woman to pay for everything. Night night all, I got the light. Click.
  11. Mostly toasty here, got to 99 yesterday and only down to 75 overnight but may only get to the upper 80s today. The damage to my bronchial tube in my right lung sounds like is permanent, however the biggest problem is the inflammation in my left lung makes it only about 50% efficient, just limits the heck outta my breathin. Woke up yesterday morning and my O2 had fallen off my face, therefore my O2 saturation was down to about 56%. It makes me really dizzy and everything turns yellow. The strange thing about all of it is that I am becoming more and more convinced that this is all going to turn around and I will have some better days coming, matter of fact I feel like I still have years ahead of me and I plan for them to be happy. Been makin a bunch of facebook friends from my high school days lately. Next year is our forty year reunion. Just seems like yesterday was like our 39th reunion time. I haven't been to one yet but I might actually try to go to this one. Wulp, yall have a great day if you want. I' think I'll try also. Donny
  12. (I had recently finished reading a cracking biography on James (nearly typed Thomas tee hee)Cook and his three voyages of discovery of the new world, gosh he certainly did run into a spot of bother with the natives of Hawaii, didnt he?) Hey Eric, for a bit more educational and entertaining reading about Hawaii, you should pick up The Cruise Of The Snark by Jack London. He definitely had some adventures in Hawaii. As for the adventures of waking up in a cornfield in Iowa, well I had an experience many years ago where I woke up at home and couldn't walk. Found out several days later I had taken a nap in the parking lot of an all night club, apparently someone ran over me. Sure wish I could blame that one on them pesky aliens.
  13. Heyall, been just lurking lately. Not much to say. Had another Bronc on Tuesday, brochial tube to my right lung is nearly closed off by the radiation. I just have no stamina for anything. Great story bout the gangsta car Bud, and the reference to Grey Poupon was spot on Katie. Worlds largest outdoor rodeo starts tonight in Cheyenne, Wy. Frontier days. I have no desire to partake of those type activities anymore. What I'd love to be doing in this beautiful summer weather is camping, haven't been in a couple years and I miss it. We have been 80s and 90s every day for the last couple weeks but it does drop down to the 50 even the 40s at night makes for really nice evenings. Just thought I might pop in and say I'm still kickin, I pop in most days, just don't say anything. Take care all. Donny
  14. Mornall, bout 55 out right now, gonna be about 75 today. This is my kinda weather. When I quit fishing about 20 years ago, the fish were very sad. I fed them very well and never seemed to hurt any. The last 2 years that I fished I caught 1 fish, about a foot long Rainbow Trout. Heck I was skunked fishing in a hatchery. I haven't eaten a fresh fish in probably 30 years, and the fish love me for it. I've been half-heartedly looking for a camp trailer, hopefully can get out and do a little more camping but I sure am not up for all the work of the old tent camping that I've done all my life anymore. Hope everyone is having a good summer. Laterz, Donny
  15. Finally feeling a bit better today. I slept about 19 hours yesterday, coughed almost non-stop whenever I was awake. Today I'm not coughing as much so going to try to stay awake for a while. No holiday plans for me, going to try out a new church Sunday morning, very small congregation, hope we can fit in. Fireworks are illegal in the county I live in, but the city does a large fireworks show on the 4th every year. It is set to music and played on a couple of radio stations, you can see it from almost anywhere in town because they do it on top of a large hill north of town. The city is all down in a valley between the hill and a mountain to the south. It's been in the 90s here every day this week, going to start cooling down over the next few days. Maybe get a little bit of rain, heck you never know around here in the summer. I've seen snow in the middle of July before. I have a friend who owned a motorsports dealership. He said he has snowmobiled somewhere in Wyoming in every month except for August. Yall have a happy holiday and think of the folks in Norway. They celebrate 4th of July in some parts of Norway, sure is a wild world. Donny
  16. A group of locals businesses here started a path about 15 yrs ago. It now goes from one end of town to the other all along the bank of the river. It's called the Platte River Parkway. Every year in August I think they have a festival at one of the parks and have duck races and musicians and food vendors and all of the proceeds go to continue building and upgrading the parkway. It must be at least 15 miles long by now and really beautiful. Donny
  17. Heyo, 61 here this morning, forecast says 97 today. A day for me to hide inside. Played Sunday morning at the NicFest. It went pretty well, I lasted the hour and didn't pass-out at all. Very sick since then tho. Angers me that lung cancer is looked up as self induced cancer, I'm sure all the people who have never smoked or been around cigarettes who have lung cancer are happy to hear they went out searching for a way to get cancer. I know that was not my intent when I picked up my first cigarette at about 9 yrs old to try to look cool. I want to thank everyone for all the input on here. I love reading about the days that everyone has and how you guys deal with everyday. So many great hobbies, hard workers, teachers, advocates, volunteers, family members, spouses, and friends. Its just inspiring, thanks. Have a whole day. Donny
  18. Been offline for a few days, my sweet lovely wife must have overheard all the talk here about moving offices. My computer is in the bedroom now. LOL Finally summer here 95 predicted today, around 90 the last couple days as well. It's usually cool in the mornings, 50s or even 40s, today it's stating off in the 70s. Playing tomorrow morning at NicFest. It's a local arts festival that is put on by the Nicolayson Art Museum, lots of artists displaying their art, performing arts shows, and music for 3 days. It is a lot of fun. Hopefully I can hold up for it, at least my timeslot is in the morning so it shouldn't be too hot yet. I have to say I've been awfully sick again lately and I'm so jealous of all of your activities and energies, but I keep trying to take from them and use the positive energy. I know that attitude takes us a long ways that medicines can't reach. I really do admire everyones "can-do" spirits. Thank you all. When I looked at the pics of your fish cleaning station Bud, my mind always immediately turns to, "how can we do this even better". Couldn't come up with anything Bud. Great job! Just sitting here typing this today has inspired me to put a little more effort into today. Thank you all again. Donny
  19. Happy Memorial day to all. I've been looking up my family on Ancestry.com, amazing. So far I know that my father's side of the family has been in the U.S. since the early 1800s. Still looking trying to find when we came over. I've also been devoting alot of time to world military history of late. It is amazing that the world still exists after some of the nasty battles. Battles where the winner lost almost a million lives. It all makes me very grateful and humble to be an American, no matter how much I disagree with some government decisions. Gorgeous weather here to day, in the 70s, perfect for me clear skies, very gentle breeze, great day. Hope everyone is having a great time. Donny
  20. Hayall, been nice here for a few days but clouded over yesterday and is cooling off again, sposed to get to 50 today. Rained most of last night and just drizzly now but staying nice and wet. Judy in KW, heard on the news today the tarballs they are finding down there are not connected to the oil spill. Hopefully it won't get in that gulf stream and go up the coast. Just so sucks that this is what it comes to. I read a satirical article about environmental safety a few years ago. It talked about all we need to do is get all of that nasty dirty oil out of the ground and safely into refineries and storage facilities as quick as possible and that will solve all of the environmental problems with the oil itself. The way the article was written was pretty humorous and being an extreme advocate of resource production it just fit me right. It also talked about dropping nukes on Iran and Iraq to clean up the problem there, said that when the initial bomb was test in the New Mexico desert in 45 that it turned the sand to glass because of the extreme heat. If that's the case then it would turn all of Iraq and Iran into great big glass windows into the earth and we could see right where the oil is and just drill right where it is, saves the time of exploring for it. I have a couple errands to run today but I've been down for a few days and really don't feel much like getting out, maybe a little later. Hope everyone has a whole day, part of it has to be good. Donny
  21. I was thinking the same thing Ned, Judy in Mi, have you been tested for Fibromyalgia? I had phantom pains and numbness for 15 yrs before I was diagnosed with it, sometimes it flares up really bad for no apparent reason and it's a bugger. Overcast and cool here today maybe only 50 or so. Sposed to be near 70 tomorrow and the next few days then stormy again mid week. So far I am really loving our new truck, it's a really pretty shade of blue that is hard to describe. I do agree that this is a much funner way of learning other folks cultures. I'm doing a very lazy day today, in fact I am about to go take a nap to get rested up for sleep tonight. I think I should do okay at it. Take care all, stay happy. Donny
  22. Beautiful wedding, I don't understand why the bridesmaids got to look so beautiful too. I thought it was a tradition for bridesmaid to have hideous dresses..
  23. Big blue skies, calm, just gojuss. Sposed to get to 60s today. Snow all melted yesterday. Maybe close to 80 by next week. Don't think anyone else gets as much weather as we do. Got out yesterday to run a few errands and I'm stupid sick today to pay for it. Had to fill 3 prescriptions without insurance, over 400 dollars. Wow. And all they do is keep me breathing so I spose they are important. I'd sure love to be doing the Alaska roadtrip with your friends Laurie, sounds fun. Al-Can highway can be really nasty this time of year, hopefully they will have a safe and uneventful trip. Talk at cha later,, Donny
  24. Wulp, still snowing, winter is back in Wyoming.
