  1. Yup, 1st day of spring, 10 degrees here, gonna get up to about 45 later. I been up all night, sweety just went to work so guess I'll go take a nap now. Sometimes I just like to stay up and watch her sleep. Sometimes her sleep is rather fitful cause she worries bout me. Love is grand. Now I'm ready for a nap. I'll go ahead and leave the light on cuz I'm sure someone else will be in before too long. Night all, see ya later. Donny
  2. Wow, cute little thing, but too small to be a real family member, maybe she's a semi-family member.
  3. Nother beautiful day, woke up to 6 inches of snow, about 25 out now sposed to get up to about 30. Got our yesterday again for a few hours, still not feeling like the bottom of a birdcage looks. Today just going to get the mail and take it very easy. I know enough to know when to say when. It's time to say when, but it is so wonderful to have a few good days in a row. Boy I sure here ya Ned, hard to make long term commitments these days, but even small ones accomplished sure feel good, don't they. Have a great day all. Sure feels good to be back amongst the living. Donny
  4. 9:30 am, gorgeous day, 50 degrees, 4:15 pm gorgeous day, 35 degrees, snowing. Yaaayyyy
  5. Nother beautiful morning here, sposed to snow tonight. Cool. I got out of the house yesterday for several hours and don't feel like the bottom of a birdcage looks this morning so that's a big plus. Going out again today tho and that may do me in for a week or two, hopefully not. Finally had a bit of a turn for the better but the cabin fever was gonna kill me if the lung disease didn't so might as well at least be a little happier. Hope things go well for your Mom Ann, nice you are happy Judy, that's a good feeling to have about your boat Bud, I feel that way about my old guitar, I could of sent it to the shop years ago, just never could part with it so in 30 years it's never been in the shop and I'm still pickin it, not quite as much since I have my new one but I still love the oldy goody. Have a great day all, I'm gonna try but not overdo it too much. Donny
  6. Confucious say, man who walks sideways through turnstile, obviously going to Bangkok. Donny agree
  7. So sorry, my condolences to Linda's family and friends and a special prayer for you Barb. Donny
  8. Morning all, feeling rather chipper today, praise God. About 40 when I got up sposed to get to about 60 today and tomorrow then snow by the end of the week with highs in the 30s on Friday. Three seasons in 4 days, I love this place. Keep learning more about what happened while I was down. I am so blessed to be alive, Mary told me last night they had to defibrilate my heart a couple times, I had no idea about that. Guess I'm just a bigger mess and blessing than I know. I have a little bit of traveling planned this summer and it's amazing how much more goes into it with all of the medical to be concerned with, sure isn't just pick up and go anymore. Yeah Bud consider yourself very blessed to have both the work to do and the ability to do it, but I'm sure retirement would suit you very well too. You have enough hobbies and interests to not be bored or feel useless. We really need those things to give us a full quality of life. Hope everyone has a good day. Donny
  9. Wup, sposed to get to 30 today. Snowed a little yesterday. Sposed to be near 60s next week. I love the weird weather. Great to see you back Heidi, happy you are doing well post-operatively. I been getting pretty sick again recently, no fevers tho, thank God, just really getting bubbly lung again and coughing all the time. Got a PET scan coming up in a couple weeks, hopefully still NED. Don't need anymore chemo or radiation to finish me off, just need to recover. Take care all. Foop Donny
  10. Ohhh, not spouses?, Well might be interesting.
  11. Try allrecipes.com a great site for cooks who like to improvise. It's my favorite, I rarely use a hard cookbok anymore. Oh and yes I do cook. When I move away from home I missed my mom's cooking so much I started calling her all the time saying, how do you make this, how do you do that? Not so much for the cleaning up but enjoy the cooking. Mid fifties here today, completely cloudless skies, no wind, makes me think it may be the twilight zone. Have a good day all. Donny
  12. I was going to comment the same thing Bud, your hubby's making great progress Ann. Definitely worth celebrating. Boy how I agree about the unknowing person at group for you Judy and Bud. I'm sure I never know what to say except that I don't know what to say. Sometimes I make jokes that after it comes out of my mouth I realize how callous it was, then I feel very small. I don't stop doing it tho, like Johnny Carson said, "bombo", how else do I find out what isn't funny but to say something stupid and feel bad for it. I have always tried to make amends for being callous when I realize it. Weather here isn't near as nice as Florida's but does seem to rival Texas this year. I definitely feel better in warmer weather these days. Not achy painy wise as much as I can breathewise. My lungs are so damaged that I am extremely affected by small things, more pollen, colder temps, more smoke, just anything may knock me down for days. Hope all has a great day, I'm sure gonna try.
  13. Bud's post was pretty interesting, sure explains why I been so rited the last few days. Weather here has been beautiful the last few days, got up to 50 today, first time I think since September. Ahhhh summertime. Actually gaining a little more longevity in the time I'm awake during the day. Kinda feels good. I've got 2 gigs booked so far, possibly 3. 1 in June and 1 in September, may have 1 next month as well. It sure feels good to be playing a bit more. have a whole day everyone, part of it is bound to be good. Foop
  14. Wow Judy, that first trip musta been freaky. I think I'da had to be pretty out of it. I'm like you Mike, just a landlubber. I been to Alaska and all of the surroundiong states and down as far as Mexico, well Juarez anyway, lol, also been to Needless California, oops, Needles, lol and Oregon on the coast but haven't been across the big river to the east yet. except to Hudson Wisconsin and I think from there you can still spit in the Ole Miss. Been havin a pretty good day here so i went out and probably did way too much and will probably pay for it for a week. The weather was so nice today, heck I think it got up to 45. Real heat wave for us this year. Good to see ya'll today and if no one else is comin in tonight I'll turn out the lights when I leave, If someone else comes in I left a nightlight on in the bathroom. Nighty night. foop
  15. Beatcha Judy. Happy Monday all, 0 degrees here, breathin today, see yall later.
  16. Morning, yay for your days of progress Judy. 28 here this morn and already 3 inches on the ground but sposed to snow all day then almost clear up only to snow a few more inches over the weekend. Maybe get a foot of snow outta this, coolbeans. We really need the moisture since we supply a large portion of the west with water. Tis a heavy load to carry being such a little state with big jobs. LOL, happy day'all. Peace
  17. Hey'all, woke up to 32 degrees today at 5:30AM, but supposed to cool back off tonight and dump a few more inches of snow, we could sure use it here. Got my dog, well you know, last week, I was hoping he might mellow out but no way. Worst about him is he's a chewer, he'll eat anything you put in front of him unless it's completely soaked in Bitter Apple. He is sooo adorable though. He's a mixed breed, part Corgi and looks like Border Collie too. Glad to hear that hubby is doin okay Ann, keep smilin all this is the life we live, and we gotta live it up so we can live it down later. Peace.
  18. Coolbeans Dawn, happy day.
  19. Hey'all, so sorry to here about Dumas Ann, they are a part of the family. Congrats on the anniversary Bud. I'll keep your hubby in my prayers Ann, knee stuff is definitely no fun. Glad you got your power back Dawn and Judy, I'd really be in a pickle with no power, my everything is electric. Welp woke up to 12 degrees today and sposed to get near 40, but then expecting a little snow and colder temps Thursday. Have a great day all, chins up.
  20. Well thought I'd get on the air early today and see if I can open this up. Getting warmer here, already up to 6 degrees today. Yesterday morning at this time it was 14 below zero, set a new record. I feel better by the day lately and for that I am really grateful. I bought a new guitar to motivate myself more to get back to playing and it's really a beaut, one of these dats I need to figger out how to post pics on here then I'll post a pic of it. Anyway a very happy Monday to all and stay healthy, as best we can anyway.
  21. Happy Valentines day all. 4 degrees here this morning, just a dusting of snow from all of the storms that have rolled thru in the last few weeks. Up here in the second highest state in the country we've had a pretty mild winter other than alot of very cold temps. No bother though, just put on more clothes and snuggle a little closer to your loved ones. My sweety and I met 3 yrs. ago today, V.D. is extra special to us, Valentines Day I mean. LOL
  22. Happy Friday to all, I live the most charmed life and I know I don't deserve it, I'll just continue to thank my GOD everyday and keep moving forward. I applied for SSDI, had an hour long phone interview and was approved in less than 24 hours. Got my back pay within 2 weeks of my interview. I'll be praying for all that are having difficulties with the process. Love you all.
  23. Went and had lunch with my sweety today and had delicious chicken and dumplings, might have to revise my fav comfort food. Hey Judy, Ann, Heidi, everybody, I got my computer where I have access to it and I'm walking without a cane now so I should be on more. Great to be amongst the living again!! Whoo Hoooo
  24. Depends on my mood, but I love a good cheeseburger almost anytime.
