We had to call the doctor because pain pills were not working (2 500mg every 4 hours vicodin) he gave him morphine pills to take with vicodin and that seems to be working going for an MRI today at 1 oclock and to see doctor on monday for the results praying it has not hit his spine. Hello everyone, I did get my hubby in to doctor yesterday and he upped his vicodan to 2 pills every 4 hrs. and he is scheduling him for a MRI, Rich seems some what better today with the new dosage thank god as for my brother they did a test on his right lung yesterday to see how strong it is and he passed the test, if the pet scan on the eighteenth shows no lyph node involvment the they will go in and remove part or all of his left lung they released him from the hospital this morning my niece just called me to let me know so we just wait and see what the pet scan shows. Thanks everyone for your kind responses and I feel a little better my self today I took a long bubble bath last nite and went to bed early slept a bit better last nite and today I i have my 2 grand daughters age 8 and 3 here to cheer me up and help with their papa. Thanks everyone for your kind responses. I just heard from my niece on my brothers cancer, he has been DX with Squamous-cell carcinoma, not staged yet will have a pet scan on the 18th and will be staged then and if there is no mets they will be able to do surgery. so I will be praying a whole lot that there is no mets to the chest area. He has had a scans for brain and lower extremideis(sp?) and no mets but there is lyphe nodes in chest that are a little enlarged but they dont know if it is due to pnemonia(sp?) or the cancer pet scan should tell. On hubby he is in alot of pain still today he just wants his pain pills and wants to sleep not eating, I am call his oncologist first thing in the morning and pray he can see him right away. Ok I am here to vent again this has not been a very good week my husband has not been good at all , it has been a week since I had him to the hospital due to sever back pain, I told him today that I am putting my foot down and I am going to call the doctor on Monday to get him in and see about having an MRI done as the ER doctor suggested and he said ok(go figure). He is having left shoulder pain and up into the neck and also right back kidney area pain. I am so stressed out with this and getting the news thursday that my big brother was DX with lung cancer will hear more on him tomorrow his children are to have a meeting with the oncologist in the morning, they all live in West Virginia and I am in Ohio. I will post more on all of this Monday evening hopefully I can get my husband into the oncologist on Monday. My oldest brother was dx with non small cell lung cancer, dont know all the details yet he is waiting for oncolgist to come in to see him to give him his options as far as treatment goes. I live in Ohio and he lives in West Virginia. I am so sad right now I have to deal with this daily here at home with my husband who has not been to good this week, and now I am so scared for my big brother whom I love dearly. I HATE CANCER It also took my father about 10 years ago. I just needed to vent a little tonite thanks for listening to me. Charolette

No Rich absolutly would not let me call said if he is not better by wedn sday than I can call. He was a little mean and crabby today and he is not walking good he stumbles and almost falls , but still wouldnt let me call. I think his mood could be due to the vicodan. He said he is still having a lot of pain and that is why he is walking like he is but I dont know about that! I will just have to wait to see how he is between now and wednesday. I had to take Rich to the hospital Saturday morning, he has been expi renicing lower back pain on the right side near the kidney area and it got severe enough that he wanted to go to the hospital. They did a spine xray and it didnt show any thing and they did a urine test to check for kidney stone and it came back all clear checked his blood and it was good so they said he could be expirencing muscles spasm and gave him 2 shot of diladude(sp?) and sent him home with prescription for it and a muscle relaxer Flexirile. He started vomiting when we got home thought it was due to not eating and drinking a lot of water at hospital for urine specimin but not so it was due to the pain pill diladude, call doctor he prescribe new on vicadon and he is doing ok on it. He still has a lot of pain doctor at hospital said if he is not any better in 3 days call oncogist and see about a MRI he is also expericing left shoulder pain that goes up the back of the neck to head and left chest area pain. He is not scheduled to see oncolgist until August 23 for new chemo treatment has not had chemo since june7 on chemo break first 4 rounds of chemo did nothing, so I am a little concerned about this new pain.
