Fran, sorry I cant help with your questions but your husband DX sounds just like my husbands left lung adrenal glands chest he also had carbo/taxol and then 6 week break new scan showed cancer stayed the same except 1 adenal gland enlarged, started having back pain and had MRI done on spine and it has spread there was to start a new chemo drug on Monday dont know which one because he didnt have it oncologist wants him to have radiation on spine first we go friday to see radiologist oh and he also had 3 brain mets and had WBR early in DX. I am so worried that the new chemo wont work also. So sorry it hasnt for your husband. Prayers going out to you both and god bless your family. Charolette

Jane camping is great, we have missed our camping and boating this summer with treatment and him not feeling well so enjoy yourselves and I will be thinking of you going down that river. God Bless Charolette

So very sorry to hear this about your dad and I know where you are coming from when you say you are P*SSED off and angery because I feel the same way today because my hubbys cancer has gone to his spine now we found out today. Took Rich to the oncologist to get his new chemo today and he did not get it , Doc said that he does have mets to his spine L2 vertebra, as well as right pedicle of L5 also minimal disc bulges at L3,L4, L5 levels. Bony metastatic disease throught the T5 vertebral body with smaller probable metastatic deposits in T8 and and T12, 2. Significant mediastinal lymphadenopathy. He wants him to see the radiation doctor and have radiation on the spine before he does any new chemo. So here we go again on this roller coaster ride. As I have said many times before (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((I HATE CANCER)))))))))))))))))))))))))))) it is the beast of all beast and we need a cure real soon. Hi Tracy, This is Aunt Char glad you joined this sight it is a wonderful bunch of people here and they will answer any questions you might have if they can and will give you lots of support also there are chat nites where you can come in and meet everybody and chat you will receive E mails when one is scheduled. Tell Your dad ,my brother we are all pulling for him and hope the pet scan shows no other cancer and he can have the surgery to remove this awful beast from his body, love you guys and thanks for joining post often to keep us updated, I wished I could be there with him but I have to be with Uncle Rich while he fights his beast, He starts his new chemo tomorrow. Hello , I was wondering if anyone can tell me what chemo drug do they use that is just a 1 hour treatment, hubby Rich is going monday to the oncologist to start his new chemo treatment and it is only going to be an hour his last treat of carbo and taxol lasted 4 and a half hours. I am having an awful time getting him to eat his weight is now 148 and he is very weak the doctor gave a prescription for decadron to help with his appetite he has been on it since monday and i see no improvement yet i have ensure, boost, boost breeze and some other stuff the nutritionist gave us he does a little of this stuff but not enough he weigh 148 on monday and I bet this monday he will be down 3 to 5 pounds more I have tried every thing he gets mad if i nag at him to eat I just dont know what else to do. I will talk to the doctor on monday again to see what else i can do. Thanks for letting me vent and if any body knows about the 1 hour chemo drug or drugs please let me know. Charolette
