kickincancer
My mom just got back from the treatmnet center. They had to give her four pints of blood. Her wb is low, rb is low and her platlets are also low. She didn't get to take her chemo this round. Will this be a major set back. She has been doing so well as her tumor had shrunk 20% last scan. Can anyone relate and did tumors grow during the time off chemo?
Don Wood
Lucie started her first chemo in Nov. '02 and got a staph infection in her port in Dec. She was off chemo in Dec. and Jan., and then started up again, and did fine. Don
Patkid
We are hoping that this will just give her a chance to build up strength. Prayers for all the best possible results. Love Pat and Brian
BeckyCW
I have no medical info, just wanted to let you know I'm praying for you and your mom, that this will not be a setback, and that she will continue to do better and better. stand4hope
I don't know for sure, but I don't think it will be a setback. I know that many people here have had to postpone chemo because of low blood counts and for other reasons. As soon as they are strong enough, they are back at it again. I hope her blood counts recover soon. Let us know when she gets started back up again. Love, Peggy

Treebywater
My mom has gone through that two or three times too. Hopefully, this will give her a chance to get her strength back so she's got even more oomph to fight.
Fall54
My Brother had to take breaks due to low blood counts and always got stronger during his breaks. You're Mom is in my prayers. God Bless you both, Jane
Kel M
My Mom's chemo was delayed at least twice due to very low blood counts. She also had to have transfusions to be able to pursue treatment. She was still able to achieve a complete remission at the end of her first line treatment. Hope is not lost - they're just building your Mom up so that she can better withstand the chemo. Stay strong. Kel
cindi o'h
Your Mom will be in my prayers. I am sure she is feeling pretty weak. I had to take a little time off until my counts came up after a blood transfusion. Praise to all blood donors. Cindi o'h
lindseysmom
My chemo was put on whole several times due to low blood counts. I have done remarkably well. Best Wishes, Dee
