  1. ((((((((((((((Tina)))))))))))))))) I have been thinking of you and saying prayers since I read your post. Please let us know when you hear something. I know how worried you must be right now and my heart just reaches out to you. Your family has already suffered so much from losing your dear, sweet Charlie. It just doesn't seem fair that you should have to handle more right now. I'm just praying that the doctors have been thinking wrong and the reports come back negative.
  2. Andrea, I love my cookbook and all the people that got one for Christmas gifts are raving about how many easy recipes they have tried from their books. I hope everyone orders at least one. Now, for the babies!!! I am overjoyed for you. I know you're going to be a wonderful mom. These two babies are very lucky! As for reading up, read what you can but know that a lot of this will come naturally.

    Waiting to exhale

Such WONDERFUL news!!! Now, we can all exhale with you! I'm just so very happy to hear this news!!!
  9. Sorry for posting this GTKY question so late in the day. As you can obviously see, I am definitely not at my best first thing in the morning....LOL! I should have a job where I only work late afternoons and nights!
  10. Are you a "night owl" or an "early riser?" In other words, do you function better late at night or early in the morning?
  11. I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. After reading your profile, your dad reminds me so much of my Dennis. I see that he's even a hunter, as was Dennis. Knowing when the time is right to move in is a tough question. Is your dad taking a lot of pain meds right now? It became necessary for me to have someone with Dennis all the time when his pain meds started to make him confused and a bit out of it. I worried about things like him taking the wrong meds, in the wrong doses. Maybe your dad would really like to have you there with him....especially to be able to spend more time with his grandchild. Men tend to be masters when it comes to holding things inside so if you're waiting on your dad to ask you to help, it may never happen. I'm here if you would ever like to talk.

    6 Days

(((((((((Kim))))))))))) I believe that everything you're feeling is completely normal for someone that just lost a loved one. I think each and every one of us that have been caregivers have, at some time, second guessed ourselves and wondered if we could have or should have handled anything differently than we did. That just seems to be a standard part of the grieving process. You just weren't ready to lose your mom after such a short time. Six days is still a really short time. Just know that we're all here with you to hold your hand and help you through this. Just remember that you took very good care of your mom and did everything you could possibly do. You took her into your home and you and your family gave her love, care and support. I'm sure being near you is exactly where she wanted to be.
  13. Hey...add me in here for the diet soda first thing in the morning. Pepsi is my choice but if I can't get my hands on a Diet Pepsi, I'll gladly settle for a Diet Coke. I just can't get going until I have that soda in the morning. Everyone at my office thinks it's so wierd to drink soda first thing in the morning.

  15. I think we've all had fun before creating a story. We're going to do this one a bit differently. Each person will only post three words to add on to the story. Please post as many different posts as you can and let's see how far we can take this. I'll start..... Once there was.....
  16. Subject: A proven weight loss program: Now here’s a diet for ya’! A proven weight loss program: A guy calls a company and orders their 5-day, 10 lb. weight loss program. The next day, there's a knock on the door and there stands before him a voluptuous, athletic, 19-year-old babe dressed in nothing but a pair of Nike running shoes and a sign around her neck. She introduces herself as a representative of the weight loss company. The sign reads, "If you can catch me, you can have me." Without a second thought, he takes off after her. A few miles later huffing and puffing, he finally gives up. The same girl shows up for the next four days and the same thing happens. On the fifth day, he weighs himself and is delighted to find he has lost 10 lbs. as promised. He calls the company and orders their 5-day, 20 lb. program. The next day there's a knock at the door and there stands the most stunning, beautiful, sexy woman he has ever seen in his life. She is wearing nothing but Reebok running shoes and a sign around her neck that reads, "If you catch me, you can have me." Well, he's out the door after her like a shot. This girl is in excellent shape and it takes him a while before he can continue, so for the next four days, the same routine happens with him gradually getting in Better and better shape. Much to his delight on the fifth day he weighs himself only to discover that he has lost another 20 lbs. as promised. He decides to go for broke and calls the company to order the 7-day, 50 lb. program. Are you sure?" asks the representative on the phone. "This is our most rigorous program." Absolutely," he replies, "I haven't felt this good in years." The next day there's a knock at the door, and when he opens it he finds Richard Simmons standing there wearing nothing but pink running shoes and a sign around his neck that reads, “If I catch you, you're mine."
