..... have the onc scan you....its been long enough.....if its bothering you this much it needs to be done regardless of how long its been....wouldnt worry about the pains too much...if you think about it long enough you can get your hair to hurt..... ......s

...i'd say go for it!!!.....the chemo is only 1/2 hr long (you have to sit around for 2hrs after the 1st one each session) but the IV is over in 1/2 hr....i cant even tell i'm on chemo (as far as the side effects)....and i'm a wuss.... ....s

check out the post i just replied to....just got my scan back after having my 1st round of (a clinical trial) chloretazine...its a 1/2hr IV once a week for 3 weeks, off a week, then ct scan. repeat... i've had 1 cycle and it has reduced the 4cm X 6cm mass on my adrenal gland by 80%.....i cant even tell i'm taking chemo.... ....s

hey troy, i think there is another person here in nashville taking it .....or at least my oncologist at southern hills said that there was...and that they were a week or 2 ahead of me..... i dont know how they are progressing but they are tolerating the treatment really well...as am i.... i just got my scans back today...my oncologist said there was over 80% reduction in the mass on my adrenal gland.....after just 1 round (3-1/2hr IVs over 3 a week period).i cant even tell i'm taking chemo.....its different for everybody (i'm sooooo tired of hearing that)....as far as i can tell...this stuff is incredible.....but like i said its only been 3 weeks..... .....s

...i have cancer now.....and i lost my dad to cancer 4 years ago...if given a choice i'd rather go through it myself..... .....s

....i'm doing pretty good now....my dr said i wouldnt have any nausea or messed up hormones from the adrenal thing (it would just start to "hurt")...i wouldnt have known it if it hadnt of showed up in the kidney scan.....i did feel a little discomfort in my torso...but i've been kinda sore everywhere when i went back to work.....('cause i laid around like a slug for a year)..... sbeth...dont really know about nsclc (i'd think they'd cut that out)...but i would think decadron would help him out...but then you have the decadron to deal w/ (no small deal)....... ....s

...ive been doing pretty well...went back to work 6/15 and everything was cool....i think i'm sicker from the kidney stone (those things are a blast!!!!)than the cancer...just got through reading....this is a stage2 clinical trial at sarah cannon....once a week (for about an hour) for 3 weeks...then a week off.....repeat.... ......s

....my sclc is back...had a kidney stone 9/20/05 and they saw a tumor on my adrenal gland...theyre gonna give me cloretazine......anybody heard of it?..... ......s

...i'm a little late... but the very same thing has happened to me...(and still is). i'm still at .5mg a day. i started in Nov. (i think) when the pci treatments made me sick (12mg/day). i have tried to taper off 5-6 times and would get violently ill when i stopped taking the decadron. i have been doing really well since june (except when i tried to quit the steroids) until last fri....i had a kidney stone...and they found a "mass" on my adrenal gland.....gotta go for a biopsy tomorrow... what i'm trying to say is, really watch the adrenal gland thing and if you start getting sick when you quit take a pill....dont try to tough it out.... .....s

get rid of that dr...i had the same thing happen to me (or it sounds like similar)...decadron stopped the pain... .......s

...they did the same thing to me...i had 19 of them...i'm still not sure if i'm over them (last one was in dec)....decadron will help a lot...i'm quitting the decadron now......if i take 5mg/day i feel ok...... .....s

.....i wouldnt trust a pet scan.....they give false pos all the time..... my doc wont even do 'em.... i dont think i'd trust anything but a tissue biopsy....and i wouldnt worry about it until there were "clear" results...(easier said than done ..i know)... .....s

absolutely!!!!! pci did exactly the same thing to me...i had 19 of 'em.....decadron (steroids)helps me a lot....2mg/day will get me by...the less you have to take the better off you'll be.....my Dr said he's never had anyone sick grom PCI for more than 6 months.....my pci's ended 12/3/2004......i still get sick w/o decadron..... ......s

....well....i'm weird...but i finished PCI in mid Dec.....and i'm still effected. my onco said he'd never had a patient be effected w/it for over 6 months though... but this is pci....and it rarely effects most people like it did me....i was told 2 weeks is the norm.... .....s

....my onc wont do pep scans either....dont forget about "the secret" parking lot on top of the tower @ vandy.....you have to get to it from Broadway (or W. End..i get 'em mixed up)....there's a medical bldg there (drive around it).....i was always able to find a place to park there when my dad was getting treatments...... ....s

...hmmmm maybe.... (radon).... but the 3-5packs of cigs i smoked everyday may have been a contributing factor....hehehehe.... .....s

......carboplatin got rid of the (cigarette pack size) mass i had in my lung.(i'm NED for the time being).... it seems like they use it more than cistoplatin nowadays......i had radiation too though... .....s
