  1. I think everyone is different, I had 37 treatments to the chestwall and was told I would have trouble swallowing, I never did, sore throat only. Best of luck.
  2. Good advise all above, just wanted to add-talk about it when he wants and live and act as normal as possible, allow him to be quite when he wants and bunches of hugs.....
  3. Welcome, yes we still have our humor at times (bra's) hope you continue to stop in and post.
  4. Hi Sonja, glad you stopped in. It is an awful disease and no one deserves it whether we were smokers or non smokers. Your brother would be proud that you have taken a interest in his disease. Stop by anytime..
  5. Nova, a well deserved outburst of venting, I only hope it helps. We all can relate as fighters and family members. We have to have our moments I believe in order to get the climbing of the next hill. Prayers your way..
  6. I know better said then done but try not to worry so much right now until you know more. Keep your faith and things will be ok. Prayers your way.
  7. My mother had emphysema and copd and could not have made it through the summer without her air conditioner she was 68, I think I would have one on standby. Best of luck.

  9. Hi Mandi, your so young to have to deal with this, but it is here and you try and stay strong for Mom. I'm sure with all her health problems right now she would quailify for SSI of SSD and help with her medical bills. I certainly know how it is to worry about those things. I try not too but it is hard. I just give up my job last week it was a tough decision but I've had bi-lateral pneumonia and my oxygen was below 95 before that and I just am not going to push myself anymore. I spent 4 days in the hospital and had alot of time to think things through. I'll work on my health first so I can be here for my family as long as I can. Good luck sweetie keep us updated.
  10. Sorry you need to be here, but sounds like your mom's cancer has been caught early there is hope her and support. Keep us updated. Your and your mom are in my prayers

    Taxotere

Taxotere has left me with chronic fatigue for 1-2 weeks, totally took me off my feet. My last dose was 05-25-07 and still all my engery isn't back. It certainly can kick some butt...
  12. Prayers being sent to you and your family.
  13. Gail, if you will read my profile below I too was where you are now. I was not offered chemo as a precaution. I have a recurrence and have been told that if I would have taken chemo after my surgery chances are I would not be going through what I am now. My onc. said they were just now discovering that lc with no lymph involvement that had chemo after surgery has a better outcome. Good luck with your decision.
  14. Heather, glad it is behind you now. Hope recovery is short and you are feeling better soon.
  15. Yep I agree, I would want to know what they are radiating. Sounds like a conference with the doc in is order. Let us know.

  17. Welcome Will, sorry for your wife's dx, as you begin the journey know there are alot of survivors here who have or are in the same situation and are surviving. Keep us informed.
  18. Gail, I think its to soon to feel great yet, took me a couple of months, every one is different. As for the cough I did not have that, but could be a side effect of one of your medicines, I would call my doc and ask. I do have a hacking cough sometimes at night but not enough to be bothersome. Welcome hope we have helped answer some of your concerns.
  19. Wendy, welcome and I will you and your family to my prayers...
