  1. Congrats to DFK! Enjoy the freedom!
  2. #18 is done. Just tired last night. No other side effects. Tomm glad you’re doing well. Only 6 for you and 8 for me. Have a good weekend all.
  3. Congratulations for reaching the end of this long journey.
  4. At this point I’m blaming Imfinzi for every ache, pain, itch that I have that all come and go. Sorry about your tooth, it is a pain trying to figure out what can and can’t be done while on this.
  5. Never had anything except dry skin until last night. It felt like pin pricks all over. Is this the “itch”? Took Benadryl - it helped but this morning still a little itchy.
  6. 17 done, 9 to go. My joints are achy. Back on Aleve, wonder if my kidneys or liver will give out first. I’m determined to get to #26!
  7. Merry Christmas and happy new year to my fellow Durvas. May 2020 bring us all to NED if not there already!!! 🎄
  8. Hopefully it’s all dead but will have to wait for PET in March. Another fight with the insurance company. They hate to approve PETS. I told the onc to lie to get it approved if she has to.
  9. CT results compared to a year ago-from 6.8x5.8 to 2.8x1.9cm. The 5mm found in Sept on left lung is now 2mm. Nothing new. I guess this expensive stuff is working. Happy Holidays!!!!
  10. Hey! Are all us Durvas feeling so good we’re running around doing holiday preps? No posts for a solid week. I’m going to take that as a good thing!!🥳
  11. Follow up with the pulmonologist today. Said the pleuritis will probably come and go until I’m off the Imfinzi. Double up on the Aleve and keep moving, breath heavy and cough a lot to keep from getting pneumonia. No sitting around being a couch potato this winter. Told me I was boring, I said better boring than dead.
  12. Well as I expect every November, sinus infection on top of all else. At least it’s not strep.
  13. Hi fellow Durvas. I’m back on track with #14 yesterday after my little break. Forgot how crappy this stuff made me feel. Still have the aches and pains like pleuritis but not as bad. Back to the pulmonologist on Monday. Oncologist said keep going the way it is. Me and the PA both think some of this is radiation damage to muscles and nerves-now have a numb spot under my arm that was in the line of fire. Only 12 more to go so I’m now descending the mountain. Hey a year ago come 12/7 I didn’t think I would see thanksgiving but here I am.
  14. Hi Tomm. For some reason my response to your post disappeared. I agree boring is good. The break was nice but I’m nervous to start over. I’ve forgotten how I felt and hope the next half of this isn’t worse. Glad you’re doing well. I need a 🍺
  15. Anybody get the flu shot and felt like they had the flu a few days later? Came on suddenly yesterday and lasted until a few hours ago. Thinking some kind of immune response. If it lasted more than a day, was headed for the docs.
  16. Thanks Michelle!!! You are an inspiration yourself.
  17. Hi Ron. Lol, I’m sorry to say I remember that show. Sorry to read about your side effects. Hopefully they are temporary and/or controllable. It certainly is crazy how some people have no side effects or very little and others get more. Hang in there-we are all fighters and we are all going to win!!
  18. Well the pulmonologist visit went better than expected. Took another X-ray (starting to worry about all this radiation) and showed nothing,no fluid, no Pneumonitis so the consensus is pleuritis for sure. No prednisone-both the onc and the pulmonologist agreed that at this stage it’s better to let it run its course and just take over the counter anti inflammatory drugs and patches. Said the prednisone will stop the Imfinzi in it’s tracks. I had a bunch of PFTs and said the results are the best they have ever been. Said if I wasn’t doing so well he would consider steroids but he ain’t screwing around with it. Got to go back 4 days after the next infusion to see if it made my symptoms worse. Hopefully with skipping a dose it will all calm down. Did learn that there are no nerves in your lungs, they are all in the Pleura. One good thing, might have to cancel the gross GI tests at the end of November. No anaesthesia with pleurisy-oh darn I was looking forward to cameras in all my orifices 😬
  19. Charles-the PA said yesterday that the Durva is cumulative so maybe that’s why #12 is a rough time for most. It piles up too much and we have to take a break to get rid of the overload. I’m just guessing but it makes sense to me
  20. Thanks Kleo. I hate the itises 🤕
  21. Hi Michelle. You are so right. The pain does effect you emotionally and then the physical feels worse. I consider myself lucky, I got through 12 infusions without major problems. The PA in docs office said she has seen others who couldn’t tolerate the first infusion and that was the end. So a little break will do me just fine both physically and mentally. Hope you are doing well and enjoying your trips. 😎
  22. Hey Charles. Seems this pain is common. Onc is calling it Pneumonitis and not pleuritis and sending me to the pulmonologist to make sure we get it gone. I’m missing one dose and then back on schedule. At first I was miffed that she’s making me go see the pulmonologist and not just giving me the roids so I can stay on schedule. Her thought was to get it right so it doesn’t get worse and get the pulmonary function tests too. Nervous to take a break but better than more lung damage.
