  1. Tomm, no music for me. That’s nap time 😴
  2. Hi BC Joe. That sunburn might be from the radiation. I developed that kind of spot on my back 2 months after and before the Imfinzi was started. I just happened to have a follow up visit at the radiologist office and the physicians assistant said it was definitely from the radiation. Welcome aboard. I’m at #8. Hoping you have a non eventful journey.
  3. DFK-sorry about your friend’s mom. I think mental attitude has a lot to do with the outcome. My twin sister passed from NSCLC after 11 months. She gave up as soon as she heard stage 4. I refuse to give up or give in. I’m stubborn.
  4. Tomm-#8 was status quo. Nothing new so far. Only 18 more than I can graduate with Bob. Bob-I bet you are going to have the biggest smile Wednesday. Can’t wait to hear the outcome of your scans. I’m betting NED.
  5. DFK-I too have gained 15 lbs since this whole adventure began. My thyroid is in the normal range and my eating habits are healthier than before. Doc can’t explain it either. I’m betting it’s the Imfinzi and they just don’t have it as a common side effect yet. Still better than the alternative. Just got to increase my walking miles.
  6. Hi DFK. My insurance states I can get scans every 3 months for the first 2 years, then every 6 months until 5 years. If there is an issue and a scan is needed for diagnosis, they usually have to have a peer to peer phone conversation to give details why it’s needed.
  7. Hey Kleo glad you’re visiting and we for sure want you to stay with us. Personally you make me laugh out loud.
  8. Sorry this is so difficult for you Tomm. Hopefully it will all straighten out and you can continue until the end.
  9. Hey Tomm. Yup #7 today. Not really having any side effects. Can’t even say I’m fatigued. I feel more tired from the Benadryl they give me before the Imfinzi than any other time in the 2 weeks between. Other than that I feel normal. How are you doing?
  10. Woohoo. Brain MRI came back clean. That with the PET results a few weeks ago is making me believe this Durva stuff is doing what it’s supposed to. Only 19 more to go!!!
  11. Tomm-great news. Charles-hoping your TSH gets better soon.
  12. Thank you sir. That is wonderful news!
  13. Well the onc is so pleased with the PET results that I just have to keep going for the infusions and see her after the next CT end of September. Asked her if the Durvalumab causes weight gain, she said no but being cancer free can. Don’t think she means I’m NED yet, I think she’s referring to the little activity left in the tumor. Anybody have head pain that comes and goes or a feeling of pressure in your head? I’m getting a CT on Monday to check it out
  14. Robert-how have your scans been?
  15. Tomm-so far my thyroid numbers are good. I nap during my infusion with a warm blanket because it’s a refrigerator in the infusion room. Then I treat myself to Starbucks for a large iced coffee and a snack on my ride to work.
  16. Hey Tomm. Going for #6 tomorrow. Got my results for last weeks PET/CT. lymph node is inactive and no longer large-death to that spot of cancer. Main tumor is now 2.8cm and not very active. Radiologist gave me the lowdown on Tuesday. Small pleural effusion-he wasn’t concerned about it but he showed me the pic, it’s very small compared to other pics I’ve seen. Will get onc’s opinion on that tomorrow. I actually flew north this past weekend and had no problem with fatigue like I thought I would. I’m feeling normal almost-whatever normal is. Enjoy the weekend
  17. Lol. The funky chicken. Thanks Charles. I guess I’ll put it in the back of my mind until I see the doc. I try to stay positive but you know how it is. Gonna plug myself into an inflight movie and look forward to getting home in 2 hours. Have a great Sunday.
  18. Hi Charles. I read that on a few cancer websites when I googled pleural effusion. Overall I agree it’s a good report but new developments scare the crap out of me. I also read it needs to be drained and tested for cancer cells and 50% come back positive.
  19. I’m questioning whether this is working. Pet scan report showed more shrinking and SUV 2.3?(I didn’t print it yet) of the main tumor and the lymph node is gone. But now I have a small volume pleural effusion and larger airspace disease with lower SUV? From what I’m reading, pleural effusion puts me at stage 4 and prognosis is 6 months? How could that be if the main tumor is going away and no other hot spots. I’m going to freak out before my appointment on Thursday.
  20. Tomm-I am happy I’m doing well, I wish we can see the benefits other than a scan every 3 months. Michelle-thanks. I’ll have a slice for you next weekend.
  21. Hey Tomm. I’m good after #5. Just a little tired. I’m wondering if no real side effects means it’s not doing anything. PET/CT on Tuesday will let me know.
  22. Glad to hear you are doing better. Happy for you. Stay positive
