  1. Hello everyone,

I would like to ask for any extra prayers for a coworker of mine, Pam. Her husband has small cell lung cancer.

I gave her the name of this website and hope that she will come here for information, support and most of all hope.

If you read this Pam, please know that I am praying for you and your husband.

    Warm Hugs,

    Melinda

  2. My Mom was 67 at diagnosis, staged IV NSCLC

    Was given 3-6 months.

She lived almost exactly 2 years to the diagnosis date.

    Passed away at 69.

Declined rapidly after the doctor took all hope away and told her no more treatments.

I believe that attitude and having hope is just as important as the correct treatment.

  3. A quote from the paper today.

Today, the Chicago area has a smile on its face and a warmth in its soul that it hasn't had in 21 years.

Ann, I don't think we are going to be on the same side on this one. I'm a huge Bears fan and am still reeling after that win last night.

I do think Peyton is something special though and will be thinking of you during the game :D

  4. This sounds absolutely crazy...but this song came on the TV when my Mom passed.

Listening to the words of the song and the smile that was on her face was her way of letting us know she was ok and had made it to heaven.

  5. Bill and Teri,

When I first joined here I remember posting a very controversial post about The Gift of Cancer. I didn't post it to offend anyone or to start an uproar but it did just that.

I was so hurt when some members attacked me and comforted by all those that pm'd me to just let me know they had understood that it wasn't to upset others.

There really is two sides to every story and I can honestly say that when I posted it I was looking at it from a completely different perspective.

I wanted to let you know that I think we are lucky to have BOTH of you as part of our group!

    Warm Hugs,

    Melinda

  6. I know you have so much going on right now but I just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you, your Mom and all your family going through this very diffficult time.

Continued prayers for all of you....

    Warm Hugs,

    Melinda

  7. Ya know, I read this post and I was going to just ignore it but I feel I must respond with this.....

    I completely agree with Pat.

I don't think anyone should have to proof read their post in fear of anothers opinion.

I'm not trying to stir the pot here, just would hate to see others not posting because this is such a wonderful place just the way it is!
