Hi I had chemotherapy (cisplatin/vinorelbine)for non small cell as first line treatment and it was given with curative intent,unfortunately the cancer had gone to my brain before I started the chemotherapy but nobody knew so in February this year I had a seizure and a couple weeks later had gamma knife radiosurgery on the 2 brain mets, my recent scan results were good for the mets, the tumor in my right lung and the 2 lymph nodes all showing good shrinkage so I don't think it makes any difference if its non small cell or small cell lung cancer it probably depends on what the oncologists want to try Many thanks Justin

Hi mike Sorry I can't help with any answers about steroid crashing, I did find chemotherapy a bit of a struggle at times but when I was on dexamethasone steroids to reduce swelling of brain mets I had a terrible time with it and couldn't wait to come off of them, I really hope it doesn't happen again and you get through the treatment without to many problems All the best Justin

Mike It is frightening I know what your going through I've had a pretty rough time myself what sort of side effects are you having, I'm glad you liked visiting the UK I've been to the States a few times and my wife and me had a fantastic time a couple of years ago in New York All the best Justin

Hi Samantha Welcome to a great support group, it really helped me being here in my early stages and still helps me now, I do speak to all my family about everything I do worry I say to much but everyone has told me this is there journey too and want to be part of it and share it with me, it is so worrying knowing what's the right thing to do but I really believe it has helped me,I f you ever need to talk or rant and don't want to do it with loved ones then come here and do it, goodluck with the treatment and try and stay strong and positive all the best Take care Justin x

Hi Jennifer I'm glad you found this forum the people on here are great and very supportive and helpful, has your mum had a biopsy done, and had any chemotherapy and radiotherapy I was diagnosed last August and had chemotherapy and radiotherapy done October to December the cancer has shrunk, I hope all goes well for you and your mom all the best Take care Justin x
