  1. Dear Roseann and Family, I am so sorry to hear about our friend Gianni. He was a fighter, a friend, a truly brave man in his battle with this horrible disease. He now is in a better place, with no pain, and he wants you to remember the good times you had together. I will keep him in my prayers always. Please know my prayers are with you. God love you all. Joanie
  2. This sounds like great news to me. Shrinkin' stuff is GOOD NEWS. ICE CREAM is good news, too! Try Edys Expresso Chip - it is yummmmmyyy! So glad for you! Joanie
  3. Even though you tell yourself "it's just statistics" you still know that you doctor told you you have 2-3 years before you're out of the woods. the statistics give me 5 years. what i'm i supposed to do? 5 years isn't much time, is it? especially when you're only 50 and you can remember things when you were about 3 years old. so many things are happening to me now and most of them are bad. i'm very sad tonight. sorry. sometimes i wonder why should i wait aroung waiting for 5 years. if anyone read my post about losing friends - well , they're still LOST. i wish they were different people. i wish i were different people. oh well.......

  11. Dear Anne, Wonderful news about your mom's results! Celebrate! Joanie
  12. Dear Carleen, You and Keith are going thru so much right now. But it WILL get better. I had chemo and radiation at the beginning, with radiation ending after 32 treatments. I had that esophogitis and i had drops to use before i ate which kind of helped. Steer clear of acid based foods, like tomatoes, tomato sauce, orange juice or orange ices. Try ice cream as that soothes things abit. Also nothing spicy, just plain things. We'll be praying for you both. Don't give up it gets worse and then it gets better. Joanie

  14. Hooray Marlon, some GOOD NEWS for you and Mom for a change. I don't know about ports, maybe someone else can help you with that. But had to root for your good news! Joanie
  15. Dear Janet, I know it's easy for me to say "don't worry" but really if you worry ahead of time, and it turns out to be nothing, then you've wasted all that time being worried! I tell myself this all the time - sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't But try it anyhow, ok? and let us know how you're doing. Joanie
  16. Dear Marlon, From reading your story it is very apparent that you are a very supportive, loving son who cares tremendously about his family. You have done so, so much for them. Now you should do something for you. You are very young and have your whole life ahead of you. A few years from now, this will not seem so difficult, but i know it is for you right now. Maybe a counselor could help you sort out the difficulties (financial, step problems, mom's illness) so you could work on each piece one at a time. Also, remember, you need to take some time for yourself. I am a Mom and I know i wouldn't want my daughter (23) to be so upset about so much. Parents want their children to form their own lives and, of course, still be there for them, but primarily, to be HAPPY. Please keep us posted and let us know what you decide. We care here, ya know! Joanie
  17. Dear Don and Lucie, I'm so sad to hear of your problems - why, why? You are such strong people and have been through so much together. Please try and rest your bodies and minds and know that my prayers and positive thoughts are on the way. Joanie
  18. Dear Cindy, Wishing your treatments go well this time. Let us know how you're doing - in the GOOD NEWS FORUM, please! Joanie
  19. Dear Kathy&Tim, Sounds like you have a wonderful dr. who's on top of this. That is great. Also, that you have good insurance is positive. I'll keep you in my prayers. Joanie
  20. Dear Dave, What a happy, good post! It's nice to see you're doing so well. A new lab puppy will keep you MUCHO BUSY! What's his name? Give him a pat and hug from me, ok? I Love DOGS. Joanie
