  1. OK...so kind of a bad title, but we consider what happened to my dad today to be good news! He started his day prepared to begin his third round of chemo. Well, he had a CT both without and with dye...they left the IV line in in order to be ready for chemo later in the day... When he met with the onc, she said, "Let's get your line out, because we are not going to do chemo today. Your tumor has shrunk enough we think we might be able to radiate!" He meets with the radiologist on Thursday, and hopefully we will be off and running... 5 weeks of it, and they are staying at the facility which is 5 hours from where they live, so it will be a long 5 weeks. Oh yeah...the best news...she told my dad that approximately 20% of the people actually cure of what he has...and she thinks he has a chance at being part of that population!!! We are thrilled! Thank you everyone for your prayers, your concern, your hope, and your advice! We are on a roll!!!
  2. Thanks for this...I will most certainly pass this on to my dad...he has been getting slight headaches, and this might help!
  3. Beth, Welcome to the board. I will pray for you!

    MAY BIRTHDAYs!!!

Eppie, May day is a great day. May first is my birthday too...I was quite the May Day basket as I am sure you were too!
  5. Gloria, Welcome to the board. I am so sorry to hear your news. I first must say though, that when a doc tells you how long you have to live, I personally think that is crazy! We don't know how long we have before we are diagnosed with such a terrible disease, and we still don't know. There are people who defy the odds every day. I am a prayer person, so I will pray for you and for your partner. Life is certainly an interesting journey. Keep well, stay strong, and live!
  6. I am so sorry to hear this. I will say a prayer for you and for your family. Life is just so precious...God bless you and take care of yourself...hold your head high, and look for the shining stars.
  7. First...congrats on the good news! I love hearing the good stuff around here... Then, I have a stupid question...what is WBR?
  8. Hello everyone. I have been gone all weekend, and I found myself missing this board. Actually though, we went to see my folks, and it was great. Dad is in such better spirits, he looks great, feels great, and if he didn't have this stinking disease life would be awesome! He did have a bit of swelling in one foot though...does anyone know about this? He is a really tough man, and thinks he may have banged it on the golf cart, but doesn't totally remember! Let me know if you know anything about this... Have a great week!
  9. Sue, Keep fighting! I know you hate that you have picked em up, but keep fighting! Try the Mayo website...they have some neat things to help. Also, please, please, quit! People love you...

    Just some thoughts

    God works in mysterious ways!
  11. Debbie, You have come to an amazing place to get information. Welcome to the board. I know what you are saying about the anxiety. I posted about that with my Dad as well. I have been told by many that it might be a time to start looking at anxiety meds. I have yet to have my mom or dad do that, but it doesn't seem like a bad idea. Do the treatments hurt your husband? So far my dad has had little pain, is on good meds for getting sick, and hasn't had really much for side affects aside from fatigue. Be sure to talk to your doc if your husband feels pain or illness. In the mean time, welcome to the board and know that my prayers along with many others will be going up.
