Sorry to hear that the news wasn't better. However, it sounds like you have a good doctor, one who is going to work for your mom, until the right chemo is found. A good doc is so important. Hoping the next chemo for your mom is "the one".

Sounds like you're going in the right direction; I hope the good news keeps coming.

Nell -- What a friend you continue to be and still are to Bob and his family! My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

I admire your strength and perseverance you have shown in looking for a trial. I pray it works for you and ends up helping many others. I look forward to your updates.

Ginny--
I can't believe it has been 6 months either. I remember how hard Earl fought the beast and how you lovingly looked after him at home during his last weeks. I, too, admire your strength but have no words to ease your pain. Just know we all care about you and we're here if you need us or just want to "talk".

A sigh of relief from BC too. Those darn mammograms. I know they have saved lives but they've scared countless others to death -- almost, that is!

Makes good sense to me a pity party with a start and end. Enjoy or should I say Don't Enjoy. I'm not really sure. As you said, the battle starts again on Monday and I know you, Fay, battle on you will.

Prayers being sent out for you. As others have said, there are many mammogram scares -- my sister just had one this past summer. It turned out well and hoping really hard that yours turns out well too..

You and your family are always in my thoughts and prayers but I'll send some extra prayers your way for tomorrow. I hope they figure things out soon and get you "better."

Glad you got the good news. I know that sometimes when I'm under stress, it helps me to go to work to keep my mind busy and get away from the stress for a few minutes at a time, at least. But I do understand that you don't want to blow-up at co-workers. Are you on anti-anxiety meds? Perhaps, if not, you could take it shortly before scan time or increase it then?

Great news about the empty head. Now rest and rest and get rid of the cough -- but as a teacher of 3rd graders, I know it can hang on.

Beth --
So sorry to hear your news but glad your family is home. I know your oncologist will come up with a plan tomorrow and you will continue to fight this beast. Always remember that we are here for you.

I'm so sorry about your father. You two must have been very close -- living on the same block and having him help care for your twins. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family during this very difficult time.

I don't know how many times i went to doctors with my dad and left with more unanswered questions in my mind than I went in with. Frustrating!!! This included waiting and watching a possible mets. That had a good outcome and I so hope that waiting and watching for Dave also has a good outcome. I would like to see him a member of the Empty-Head Club!!
