  1. Chocolate cake with chocolate icing. Wow, if I am sexy, it is going to waste. LOL
  2. Cyndy, I am so sorry to see you back here for this reason. I, too, have had too much lung cancer affect my friends recently. Let us know how we can help you.
  3. What would I do without my Lex buddy? Now we just need to get that back fixed. Kasey, you know I am thrilled for you and grateful for your friendship.
  4. My best friend is Jackie and she has been my BFF for 50 years. We go out to dinner once a month. I also see friends from grammer school once a year and go out to dinner with high school friends once a month. Old friends are great, but new friends are great. I guess what I am saying is that friends are the best.
  5. Your Dad has my prayers Deb.
  6. Don't know why, but Stouffer's Cream Chipped Beef over white bread was something that Earl could eat and eat. Very caloric too.
  7. We are now Kasey, Fred, Maryanne, Joel and me. JB and Colleen and esepecially Jack, we hope Col feels well enough to come Gail, Ellen, Sharon - where are you??????
  8. I agree with Dave. I smoked, A LOT, until 7 years, 2 months and 11 days ago. I am a reasonably intelligent person and I knew that what I was doing was very dangerous to my health. Like Randy, Earl lost and I won, if you want to look at it that way. Hard to quit, absolutely, did not think I would ever be able to do it and BTW Earl and I both quit before he was dx'd. I quit cold turkey. Sue the tobacco companies - that is wrong. Would you sue Budweiser if you were in a drunk driving accident? Would you sue McD's if you die from coronary artery disease? Would you sue Hershey's if you die from diabetes? It all goes back to being responsible and accountable for our actions. Ok, I will get off my soapbox.
  9. So far it is Kasey and Fred and me.
  10. Geri, this is worth a double - one for each of the good newses.
  11. Hooray for your Mother, hooray for you and hooray for the 2nd doctor. Having a support system like you is vital to your Mother. Please keep us posted.
  12. Hi Casey and welcome. I am sorry you have to be here but as someone that was in your same situation, this site is a God send for both information and support.
  13. And we wonder why???????
  14. Don't usually report in. But I needed a break, just spent 3 hours ironing. I know, I wasn't sure how to do it either. Took a while to figure out you had to turn it on in order to get rid of wrinkles. Yesterday was an absolutely wonderful day. I played 18 holes of golf with my son and daughter and then had lunch with them. Both work, have children and live very busy lives. So this was a rare day, one I will hold in my heart. They say they will do it again. Holding the will over their heads for this one. Going to see Julie and Julia. Read both books this is based on, loved the Julia bio, hated the Julie blog, but I love Meryl Strep, can't wait to see her do Julia.
  15. 16. Golf with my children, the absolute best
  17. I am a creature of habit: Spring House Tavern - crab cakes Tutto Mario's - penne bologanese (sp?) Ariana's - chicken marsala Macaroni Grill - Carmen's chicken rigatoni I virutally never vary at these restaurants. Now Earl was Mr. Adventure - bear, ostrich, venison, partridge, rabbit, esgargot. I always joked when he ordered esgarot, that I preferred fast food.
  18. Okay all you PA, NJ and DE folks, our next luncheon is at Kildare's Irish Pub in King of Prussia on Saturday, September 12th. You'll come down, you hear. Let me know if you are coming. If you haven't been before, we have a fun time and all are welcome.
  19. How wonderful to have spent the 2 days with your Mother, I bet she was thrilled.
  20. Dear Shirley, I am glad you included us in your memories of Randy. It is funny how there are so many of us that continue to come back here. It is like a family of "I know how you feel'. I too will toast your dear Randy tonight.
