  1. Yea Katie it is a big change for me. If someone had told me a few years ago that this is the life I would be living I would have tole them the were crazy. But, losing a spouse changes a person in ways many would never understand. I'm learning to just make the best of things I guess. But I'm as happy as I deserve to be?
  2. Hi everyone! Guess it's slow around here lately because we're all out playing in the nice weather My life here in Illinois is so different than it was in California. Going from a population of millions to a tiny town of 600. City life.....then farm country LOL I spend a lot of time helping cut down trees and even mowing takes two of us about 3 hours. Good thing we have riding mowers because I'm too old I went to my very first auction last Sunday. I found a little table with two chairs I wanted so decided to bid on it. I put my ticket in the air and just held it there. I wasn't about to let anyone else have it. Then someone told me I didn't need to just hold it up like that because I was out bidding myself. Oh well.....live and learn right? We just lost three little kittens in the last couple days. Turns out there is a big fat possum that's gotten to them. Russ says he's going out tonight with the shotgun and wait for him. Coming from the city the idea of shooting something is so hard for me to handle but that's life in the country! Hope everyone is doing well and having fun Cya soon!

  11. Kathy....I am so sorry this doctor didn't give you more information. I agree with your husband on a second opinion. I wish that I had done this when my husband was diagnosed. We too left the doctors many times feeling frustrated. Please keep us updated and know that we will all be thinking of you. ((hugs))
  12. Glad your pain is better today Janet Sounds like you have a spoiled bird already huh? LOL It's a beautiful day here today. Sun is shining and it's in the mid 70's which is great. I'm so glad winter is finally gone. The farmers are out plowing their fields and planting too. I just hope they don't spray any chemicals anytime soon. Last time they sprayed the winds were over 30mph and my asthma went insane. We have farm land on three sides of us and it just covers the house in addition to sneaking inside I feel like reporting that farmer because they aren't permitted to spray if the wind is over 10mph. Tonight Russ's daughter is graduating from college so the whole family with be gathering to celebrate with her. I can't wait! I'll post some pics on fb tomorrow. Well, enjoy your day everyone!
  13. Welcome to LCSC! I'm sorry for the reasons you have for coming here though. This monster we call cancer is something no one should ever have to deal with. You said you had nsc...is it adenocarcinoma? I'm happy to read that your lymph nodes are smaller and that you do not require oxygen at this time. That indeed is great news! Please feel free to browse our forums. You will find a world of information from our members here. We have both caregivers and cancer survivors as well. If you ever have questions or just want to vent.....we are here for you

  15. Alyssa....I too am glad you found us and also sorry to hear about your Mom. I too was a caretaker for my husband. It was one of the hardest things I had ever done, but I'm also grateful for the years we had together. Knowing how hard it is to care for a loved one just please remember to take care of yourself as well. Please read through our many posts and you will find a wealth of information as well as support. Feel free to ask anything you wish and also to vent your feelings as well. I hope to hear from you soon ((hugs))
  16. Hi everyone! Yesterday it was close to 90 degrees here but Russ did take me for a motorcycle ride We went with four other couples for breakfast. He has the bike for sale and I'm kinda hoping no one calls about it till I can ride again! LOL After our breakfast run we went out to cut down yet another tree. I used to think it was torture doing it while cold outside but it's worse when hot. I was totally worn out by the time we got home. Well, on our way to Russ's mom for some good home cooking. Have a nice day!
  17. Hi Everyone! It's a beautiful day here today in the mid 80's. The winter this year was soooo very long and harsh I didn't think I would ever see the sun again, but here it is! I have been outside playing with some new plants and mowing the yard. I love mowing....especially on a riding mower! Janet, that's great news about your bird. My son has one just like it and she's so attached to him. She hates me.....but oh well, huh? Russ has decided to sell his motorcycle so his daughter wants her last ride today. She should be here anytime. Hope he wants to take me out too later! I hope everyone is enjoying the spring weather! Cya soon!
