  1. Hi Span, Welcome,so glad you have found us,I dont think you could have come to a better place for friendship and support.I am so sorry to hear about your Dad,there are so many here that can share with you their experiences that will certainly help you in your search for information and support. Does chemo work?well your Dad and I do share similar experiences,I had neo-adjuvant chemo to shrink my tumour, which if successful would, reduce its size to allow it to be operable, well happy to tell you, this chemo certainly worked, which led me to having a upper right lobectomy in January 2009. Since my surgery,I have required no further treatment,my oncologist told me to expect 15-20 years if not a cure.It is my hope that my oncologist's prediction for me turns out to be accurate.Unfortunately I was'nt given a diploma of guarantee about having many years in front of me,who does get such a diploma, with cancer or not?. The staging of your Dads cancer,as with mine,is early, and he has every chance of a having many years cancer free. Please pass on to your Dad my very best wishes, along with an invite to join us here.In my experience, the start of my cancer journey was most difficult to cope with psychologically,I found it difficult to sleep at night, seemingly not having any light at the end of the tunnel, but gradually, with the passage of time, support of my family and friends,my jangled nerves began to settle, arriving here,I began to realise, maybe I do have a future after all?.Today I have found my old pre dx self, and enjoying my life to the full.Sorry if my post seems to be a bit disjointed, its just gone 3.30am here,I' ve just woke up for a bathroom visit and could'nt resist a wee peek at the posts here.Goodnight,God Bless.
  2. Good Afternoon Everyone, Good to see our Judy's back, glad you enjoyed the Jersey Boys JudyKW,and JudyMI,hoping you are feeling well, with minimum discomfort from your surgery.I am still a bit in the dark about your op,last I had actually read was about the Friday of your planned surgery being cancelled, next you're done and dusted?.Wishing you an excellent response and recovery. Well, missed my yoga class today,Jennifer phoned last night, change of plans for her and Chris today,Chris was in the recording studio last night with his group, well instead of coming home this morning, they are staying today in the studio also.Since Jennifer was teaching this morning, could I come and puppysit Dodger,no problem,he is a lovely friend to play with, unfortunately Jennifer and Chris, are having some problems with him being so demanding of attention constantly, also they cannot leave him in the house for a moment, since he begins to howl the place down, they are concerned about upsetting their neighbours. I had a most enjoyable evening with the Morgan Lee Band on Saturday,Ann the violinist, invited me to her house for a party, what she didnt tell me was it was her 50th birthday party,I felt a bit bad since other than the wine and beer I had brought,I did'nt get her a prezzie, not even a card.Lots of musicians there, what a talented lot they were,Ann had asked me to bring my guitar along,I did'nt,just as well these guys were so good. One guy,was playing bass guitar, swops it for the next song for acoustic, next he moves to the keyboard, asks me for a song, several times in fact, didnt matter which song I mentioned he could play it perfectly on the keyboard with any written music, how do they do it?.Best moment?,lead singer Emma asks me to duet a Johnny Cash song with her,I got to sing all night in between conversations,I did have an advantage,I was the only one there that seemed to know all the words to the songs being played.I left my car at Jennifer's,she ran me to the party,I asked her for her door key, since I didnt expect to return to her home until the wee small hours,Dad, I will wait up for you, didnt get home until 4 am,makes a change for all the times I had to wait up for her coming home from a disco when she was younger. Think I had more to share with you,but its gone out my head?never mind,I'll give you a break and close now, enjoy the rest of your day everyone,Bye.
  3. Hi Nicole, I totally endorse your post, thanks for sharing, best wishes.
  4. Hi Janet, Thank you for taking my joke in the spirit to which it was intended.I really understand why a description of the contents of a haggis may sound unappetising, but as my Mum used to say "Taste and try before you deny",I have mostly eaten Haggis at a Burns Supper, which is held on his birthday on the 25th of January,or there abouts.Imagine the scene, you are at a table, with maybe about a hundred others,a bagpiper enters the room, playing something like Scotland the Brave, followed by a chef,in full gear, carrying with arms outstretched,a hugh Haggis on a silver platter, they arrive at a table, the haggis is placed on it,the piper is given a large glass of the amber nectar, which by tradition he downs in one gulp. Then the evenings speaker, approaches the haggis and recites Burns famous piece of poetry, written just after the American Declaration of Independance,The address to a Haggis,-"So fair your honest sonsie face, great chieftain o' the puddin race etc,you are then served a portion of the haggis as a starter, with potatoes and mashed turnip, this being followed by usually Steak pie and all the trimmings. Robert Burns was a great guy with the lassies, but initially a batchelor that enjoyed his nights out with his male friends at the pub,on marrying,he had to relinquish the batchelor club night outs, but we still celebrate this tradition today.Burns nights are a male night out today, although for the tourists to Scotland, females are accepted now.A Burns tradition night will include,a good meal, some reciting of his poetry, usually Tam O' Shanter and Holy Willies Prayer, which to me is music to my ears, this is followed up by further speakers telling anecdotes from their lives, which are memourable, insightful or downright rude. One tradition which is always kept is a male reader reading Burns famous, Address to the Lassies. The night also includes songs written by Burns, accompanied by the bagpipes.I do hope that sometime in your life you can attend a Burns Supper.
  5. Thanks Judy for posting, there is a gap in my understanding of what has happened with you since last Friday.I know you have gone through surgery,my very best wishes that everything has gone well and that your full recovery is underway.
  6. Janet, I was only pulling your leg about the haggis, this kind of tomfoolery is actually directed at our English cousins, they have such little knowledge ot interest in things Scottish,we love to take advantage or their ignorance. In my teens I was invited to a party in Manchester, the English guys asked me why I didnt bring a bottle of Scotch with me,well deadpan I explain that I had indeed brought a case of Scotch with me for this party, however when the train reached the border between Scotland and England, the Scottish border guard boarded the train, searched my coach, found the Scotch and confiscated it.There is no border guard of course, neither would Scotch be confiscated either if there were such. The English guys are astonished, and full of sympathy for my loss, same party later, chatting to an English girl,I swear this is the absolute truth, she mentions her favourite TV prog is Top of the Pops, mine too I reply, she looks at me,and asks "Do you have televisions in Scotland?"(obviously she has not heard of a Scot called John Logie Baird, inventor of television)well not like the ones you have in England says I,why what type do you have in Scotland?,she enquires, well in Scotland we dont have that thing you call elect,,,pause, while I think further,-electricity,she looks at me,well then how does your televisions work in Scotland?.Staight faced I reply "Gas",she is amazed and shares this with her friends. Its all good fun for Scots, harmless really, its still a common habit of Scots today.
  7. Hi Everyone, I appreciate my post previous showing the Evening Times story the print was unreadable,so I have typed it out verbatim to allow you to read it.- He’s a former smoker who knows how lucky he is to have beaten lung cancer. And now Eric Byrne has become a member of a government body which is updating clinical guidelines for the NHS on treatment for the killer illness. The Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN) is the government body responsible for ensuring that all cancer patients get the same quality of treatment. Its just the latest in a long list of things Eric’s doing for the cause. Eric from Airdrie, said:”Everybody in Scotland that gets lung cancer will have the same quality of treatment”. “Its made up of oncologists, surgeons, pharmicists and a medical psychologist, they’ve asked me what I think shoul go in the report, which wont be completed until next December”. Eric attends meetings every two months. Eric, who is married to Sarah,58,only became aware of his illness when plagued by a persistant cough and his daughter,Jennifer,27,persuaded him to see a doctor. He was initially sent away with antibiotics. But the cough continued and in October 2008 an X-ray finally comfirmed he had a tumour in his right lung-and it had caused the organ to collapse. He said”I discovered a tumour had grown and blocked off the airway”. That day Eric, who had smoked cigars for 40 years, cleared the house of his habit. He started chemotherapy which defied doctors expectations by shrinking the tumour by the largest extent they’d ever seen. He later had successful surgery to remove the growth. That was three years ago and Eric knows how lucky he is. He said:If it hadn’t been for Jennifer’s insistence I would have probably carried on for some months and it would have been too late. “Eighty per cent of people with lung cancer die in the first year” “There’s only 7% of us manage five years,my doctor gave me two years. The retired Anniesland College lecturer is now an ambassador for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation charity and has also been involved with Cancer Research UK. And while he was on holiday in America last year he even spread the word for US cancer organisation LUNGevity. In Seattle’s Lincoln Park he took part in a 6km walk with the Washington State Senator Andy Hill, who has lung cancer, and oncologist Jack West, to raise awareness. Eric has backed our Clear the Air campaign to persuade people to stop smoking. He said:”I commend you for it.If I could have met myself 30 years ago and said,”Eric don’t do that its a mugs game”,I would have. A spokeman for Healthcare Improvement Scotland, which runs SIGN,said:”Patients and the public bring an important voice to our work.In the development of SIGN guidelines, they help to bring a patients perspective to the development of new guidelines. “They also help identify areas where services and patient pathways could be improved, and ensure that patient issues are taken into account throughout the guideline development process.
  8. Hi Janet, I have just spent some time in You Tube, watching Corries videos, can I further recommend Lochnagar, click on the video thats had 110,470 views, its written by Lord Byron, beautiful piece of music,it also allows you to follow up with more Corries videos.
  9. Good Evening Everyone, Well actually, good morning its gone midnight now in Scotland so its really Friday am,its nice to read all your posts today(or yesterday) ahem,.JudyMI its good to hear you are still with us and as cheery as ever, dont get high on that oxygen.Wishing you all the very best for a full recovery. Hi Janet,I just love the Beach Boys,I have seen them twice at the Odeon in Renfield St in Glasgow in the sixties, same theatre my wife seen the Beatles from the front row, they were brill. Hi Janet, you really have to get up to speed in all things Scottish,White and Mackays, also known as the amber nectar, centuries old,a distillation of the finest malt whiskies into one bottle. Now the Haggis,a game bird, relative of the grouse family, larger than the red grouse but smaller than the capercaillie,it has one leg shorter than the other to allow it to remain level, running clockwise around the mountains in Scotland, the female of the species has the opposite leg shorter to enable her to run level counterclockwise around the mountains,so they can meet up and mate.Pots was just my way of abbreviating the word Potatoes, and Neeps is the Scottish word for Turnip, this is mashed when served with the Haggis. The Corries, what can I say?,They were a duo of former art teachers, who became the best loved folk musicians in Scotland,Ronnie Brown and Roy Williamson.I used to see them regularly in the sixties and the seventies when they appeared in Glasgow in the City halls, they also appeared regularly on Scottish TV,they composed many popular songs in Scotland, one of course became our national Anthem "Flower of Scotland",unfortunately,Roy developed a brain tumour and died,so ended the duo that was most loved by Scots,in tribute to the musical genius of Roy,Ronnie said the angels in heaven must look to their laurals, now that Roy has arrived. If you go into You Tube you can see them perform on numberous occasions,I particularly recommend,The Glencoe Massacre,Willie McBride,Macphersons Rant,The Braes o'Killenkrankie O and many others.Gosh just thinking about them has brought a tear to my eye, memories of seeing them on stage, trying to get off the stage at the end of their show, they had to do at least 3 encores.I hope you like them.
  10. Good Afternoon Everyone, Mixed bag of weather today, beautiful sunny blue skies as I set of for the gymming and swimming, when I left 3 hours later, snow was falling thick and fast, now its brightened up a bit, fortunately temps have risen and snow has completely gone,no wonder Brits talk about the weather so much, when you can have all four seasons in one day. Mens breakfast went really well last Saturday,OK I know, but I hav'nt posted since last week, shame, shame. My friend and neighbour, Jim Leitch who was Head of Engineering at Anniesland College until he retired a few years ago,we shared cars travelling each work day for about 20 years, well it was his son Jason, who was guest speaker at the breakfast, what a super talk he gave,a bit of reflected glory now,Jason has just been voted the UKs Clinician of the year,he is currently Chief Medical Officer in the UK responsible directly to Nicola Sturgeon who is Depute head of the Scottish Parliament.I just found out that Jason spent 18 months studying at Harvard for his Phd in Dentistry.Just thought i might mention all this to you. It was my new friend's birthday on Wednesday,Jim of the gym, that is,he was 79 years young, not that you would believe it,I gave him a birthday card, think he was quite chuffed. He really is a bit of a character,of the earthy type, but good fun, picking up his prescription from the pharmacy he says to the girl "You've forgot my Viagra and Durex are you trying to ruin my weekend?".He invites me to meet up with his son at one of Glasgows oldest and famous bars for lunch, the Horse Shoe Bar,think its about 200 years old, with decor to match,no I am being unkind, its called Preserved Victorian, the bar is in the guiness book of records for being the longest in the UK,approx 100ft,in the shape of a horse shoe.We go the the restaurant upstairs, its busy, loads of our more senior citizens, and I will tell you why,a 3 course meal,£4.50 total.i choose the home made lentil soup, hot and delicious, steakpie in ale, pots and boiled peas, ice cream to finish, all washed down with a pint of Tennents larger (Brewed and bottle in Glasgow) do you know this was Bing Crosby's favourite beer?in fact he agreed to do a advert for the company absolutely free. Talking of famous Americans,I was just reading that music tapes of Micheal Jackson singing Robert Burns songs have been passed to the Burns Museum in Ayr, by his record producer.Apparently Micheal was a real fan of Burns,I do hope this music is released. I am looking forward to my musical evening with the Morgan Lee Band on Saturday,Ann who plays violin in the group, invited me to her house along with I think 60 other musicians, well its nearly Burns night,so I think this is going to be some jamming session.I have arranged for Jennifer to drive me there, having parked my car at her home in Glasgow,i will return to spend the night at her home, rather than travelling home to Airdrie, being a Scot,we have to consider the cost of taxis LOL. Since my last visit JudyMI had, had her op cancelled last Friday, then I read she is in recovery, can anyone fill me in?.Sadly I now hear Stephanie is having a difficult time?.I do hope, both are recovering. I do agree with everyone,we are all needing a visit from the big yellow bus to lift our spirits,if someone can get in touch with Becky,I will get myself prepared for the journey, with some essential provisions,Whyte and Mackays, haggis, pots and neeps, just in case we get hungry and thirsty en route.Music Cds,a brill selection of the Corries to get the right ambience, any objectors may be forceably removed from the bus by a couple of bruiser extras from Braveheart.bye just now,Ive got some packing to do.
  11. Hi Judy, Yes I know, the small print is unreadable sadly,I have sent an e-mail to Sarah Swain of the Evening Times to see if she could send me a link to the printed story, failing that I will type out the story here myself.
  12. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... =1&theater Hi Everyone, Finally got the link to my story in the Evening Times.Hope the link works.
  13. Good Afternoon Everyone, Beautiful sunny day today,I had to scrape the ice from my car first thing this morning, isnt front and rear screen heating wonderful, why was it that for years cars had rear screen heating rather than front screen, when front screen seems to me to be the more important, stop it Eric you are getting yourself dizzy. Yoga-ing and swimming today,I told you about Jim my new friend?,he is great company, each day now we sit together after gym,and share a coffee and a choccie bicci, then we sort the world out into some kind of Utopia. Lunch with Bill,Liz and Rhoda, food was wonderful, its all done by the catering students in the training restaurant, only £7 too,a bargain, real gourmet food with full artistic presentation, only trouble was the portion sizes were not what you would find in an American restaurant.Result after babysitting Jennifers dog in the evening,I am ravenous by the time she gets home. The dog sitting went really well,Dodger is such fun, chews at everything,in fact he was beside me on the sofa,he managed to get his full head into my trouser pocket a get a hold of my comb,we had a game of tug of war with it ,me trying to get it back,he enjoying a good chew, then he is racing up and down the living room,my previous dog Sam used to to do that too,we called it mad half hour.I also took him out for a walk too,Jennifer returns about 11.30pm,Dodger is lying sleeping across my lap, when she comes into the living room,Dodger, wakes up,sitting on my lap so excited on seeing Jennifer and Chris returned he promply pees all over me,so much of gratitude for me looking after him.Jennifer and Chris strangely think this is a hoot?. I leave for home about midnight, really hungery,I refuse Jennifer's offer to make me something,I head for my favourite Indian takeaway in Whifflet, the Spice of India, they are just about to shut up shop, but knowing me as a regular, they insist on making me up a nice meal, chicken pakora, chicken tikka, nantera sauce, fried rice and a nan bread.I f you ever manage to get to Scotland, please, you must taste their nantera sauce, there's no where in the entire world thats even close to as good as.Well can you imagine 12.45am getting stick into a Indian meal,it was delicous,in fact it was so big I split it in half and will have the other half tonight. I still have Judy in my mind all the time, so hope everything goes allright.Mens breakfast at ABC tomorrow, got to be out by 7am to set up all the tables,I still dont have an alarm clock so please dont let me sleep in,anybody want to give me a wake up call?.Bye everyone have a great weekend,I may pop in later.
  14. Good Morning Judy, Its Nine am here, just about to head out for my yoga and swim, just to let you know you are in my thoughts,my very best wishes for today,I just know everything is going to go well.It has been such a protracted run up to this day,the uncertainty of how things will pan out, what decisions would be taken following all the discussions you have shared with your medical team based on your test results.I so admire your attitude throughout and serves us all an example on how to face such adversity.Well todays the day,I know everything will go well, and with God on your side, how could it be otherwise?.My very best wishes for a completely successful operation, may your post op discomfort be minimal and your full recovery back to full health speedy.
  15. Good Evening Everyone, I was leaving my buddies Bill and May's home about an hour ago,the temp gauge on my dashboard read 12 degrees C, to convert to Fahrenheit, multiply by nine, divide by five and then add thirty two=53 degrees? Scotland in January and 8.30pm?whats going on?who said global warming is a myth?. Gymming and swimming today, then round to Bills for a blether,he asked me to run him up to A&E in Monklands Hospital,he has pain in one of his eyes and could'nt sleep properly last night,I picked him up 2 hours later, they could'nt find any foreign body in it,gave him some ointment to apply, come back in five days if not better. College lunch to-morrow with, Bill,Liz and Rhoda,I may also see Jennifer when she finishes teaching her English class,I will miss my indoor bowling game at night as Jennifer and Chris are both going out, and have asked me to babysit their new puppy. Emma Gunby of the Roy Castle LC Found',sent me the link for my feature in the Evening Times, its amazing, since I am still waiting for reporter Sarah to send it?.I phoned Emma to thank her,and asked her earth did she know about an article in a Glasgow newspaper, when she lives in Liverpool? she said she has a machine in her office that prints out any publification automatically, anywhere in the UK that just even mentions the words Roy Castle in its draft, how amazing is that?,very James Bond, dont you think,or should I say CIA?.Downside is I tried to copy and paste the link for here and it dosnt work,I e-mailed Emma to tell her and she said she would change the link to PDA? to allow me to send it around websites,so far she has'nt done this for me,maybe like Sarah more important tasks got in the way?.I will send the feature in soon as.Used my fold away clothes drier frame today, goodness it holds two machine loads, forget the tumble drier from now on. JudyKW,I am still trying to lose some waistline, and you describe yesterdays sannie, bacon, egg and cheese,ye gods, delicious, but how many million calories? Hi Janet,You mention one of my favourite pastimes, reading,Waterhouse and until recently Borders, who unfortunately have gone into receivership, you could go in to their shops, pick up a book and a relax in comfortable surroundings with a coffee and a muffin etc,and just read.Ah bliss,I have mens breakfast at ABC on Saturday morning, now you have put that notion in my head, its off to Waterhouse for the afternoon. hi Stephanie,Tax returns?what's that?unless you are self employed Brits dont do these, your employer has to do this for you.Just as well,I would end up in jail for tax evasion. How can you pay tax, when you have no taxable income?,sounds rediculous to me.What a super place the USA is,but there are so many strange ways of doing things, health, welfare and insurance, for some.Goodnight all, byee.
  16. You are so right, sharing such a success story does give everyone a boost, congratulations on your 8 years. My buddy Robert Lowe, was dxd with SCLC in1993,NSCLC in 2007,now aged 72,has more zest for life than people half his age.He is now the UKs longest surviving duel LC patient, this is now his 19th year of survival.Lets all do a Robert, what do you think?.
  17. Congratulations Jamie, thank you for sharing that, good news stories are always welcome here.I am really looking forward to emulating your acheivement.God Bless.
  18. Good Evening Everyone, JudyMI,isnt it strange we seem to have lost our winter over here also?our temps for days have been 10-11 degrees centigrade,I had to look this up in my Oxford dictionary to convert that into English ie 50 degrees F.Its the only S.I. unit I have'nt yet come to terms yet, wish they had blooming well left that one alone,I have got the grammes and the litres though. Gymming and Swimming this morning,I slept in until 9.30am I was playing games on my laptop until after 2 am,PS3,freecell, minesweeper and chess,I just forgot about time.Costco after the gym,I love wandering around this store, bulk buying kitchen roll, soap powder tablets, also bought a large metal foldaway clothes drying frame thingy,to cut down on using the tumble drier, lots of other little nick-nacks,kitchen scales to replace the brocken one,my success with the brisket has got me thinking maybe I should spend so time in the kitchen in developing some more cooking and baking skills? do you know i bought a new set of bathroom scales the other day,not only do they tell you your weight, but it sends a beam up from your feet to scan your body to measure your body fat and water measurements, how cool is that?er,I dont know what it means, but nice to know I've got a machine that can tell me that. On the way home I stopped off at my local newsagent to pick up my Evening Times,I was met with cheers from the staff, puzzled I am given the paper, they have found me in pages 6 and 7,it is a well written piece, nice pics of yours truely. The feature covers quite a range of things I have been involved in over the last three years,my USA trip is covered,my involvement with LUNGevity,my walk around Seattle's Lincoln Park with Senator Andy Hill and Dr Jack West, also mentioned my involvement with SIGN.I have tried today to find the link to the feature on the Evening Times webpage to allow you to access it,but I cannot find it,maybe its more to do with my lack of computer skills?.I have sent an e-mail to the reporter Sarah Swain,to ask if she could help me to find the link to share the story around.Maybe tomorrow she will get back to me?. Hi Janet, seems I have missed the posts from you about a rescue farm?what rescue farm, what animals do you rescue/care for?.I love attending the LC support group too, although the January was postponed, next meeting first Wed in Feb. Hi JudyKW,sorry you are still involved with docs and hospitals, wishing this can all become a thing of the past.I am sure you are going to enjoy the Jersey Boys, its really good. Good night everyone, nearly bedtime, going to start a new book I bought today in Costco its all about the codebreakers in Bleachley Park in WW11.
  19. Welcome home Jamie, happy new year,eh,what does CDMRP mean?
  20. Good Afternoon Everyone, Beautiful bright blue skies and sunny today, mild too, surely this isnt January?,seems winter is on vacation?. Thursday,Dot and Jim to pick up and bring home for dinner, neither drive, but its no problem since they are only 30mins away.Early morning,Sally's just not quite with us-again,I decide to make the dinner myself, how hard can it be?,potatoes, boiling peas, brussel sprouts into pots, now for the Brisket Beef, lets see the directions - 40mins per 450 grammes plus 40 mins,Brisket weighs 1.660kgs,retire to calculator on the laptop, 3 1/2 hours at gas mark-I have now forgotten.Beef now cooked, time to pick up our guests,I give Sally a last minute inspection, hmmm, its a bit touch and go,I decide to risk it rather than cancel Dot and Jim. We arrive home,Sally, unfortunately in the time I was gone, managed to get a taxi to the off lincence to restock her supplies, dont ask where the money comes from? I think she has a little printing machine hidden away,I discover a bottle under the sink and pour the remaining contents down the sink.Fortunately not too much has been drunk, she does make a nuisance of herself, but Dot and Jim graciously accept the situation to save my embaressment,we actually have a great time,Dot helps me prepare the dinner, well actually, I kinda let her take over, she does a great job,the meal was delicious, the brisket was cooked to a treat. As the afternoon progresses Sally begins to sober up and joins in with conversation as if nothing has happened, much to my relief. Friday, going to Edingburgh to see We Will Rock you, perhaps arrive early and go for dinner somewhere, but its off to the yoga first,3 hours later I return, despite Sally's desire to see this show and out for dinner, has managed to do the usual-again,I leave it until five pm,to see if she is fit to go,no way I am afraid,I phone Jennifer,no answer,I drive to her home,I offer Jennifer the tickets for her and Chris to go to the show, whist I baby sit their new puppy,(its a bichon frise)a compromise is reached Jennifer and I go,Chris insists on staying home.Really enjoyed the show,Jennifer drove us there,so it was great just to share her company for the evening, its been quite a while just the two of us had had some time to-gether. Just chilling out today, nothing planned,ABC tomorrow, then up to Dots to meet up with the kids,Jack and Emma,we always have great fun together.Enjoy your weekend everyone,JudyMI,thinking of you, hope you will get home soon as,and you have good news to share with us,Bye.
  21. Hi Judy, I am sorry to hear of your experience in hospital,I am wishing you all the best for good test results as compensation for all the pain and discomfort you have suffered having these tests done. Hope the next couple of days fly by for you, keep us posted.
  22. I seen the Jersey Boys when I was in New York in July last,it was brill, for a Scot the best bit was I got a ticket for $47,the seat was described as stage slightly obscured by the overhanging balconey.Well it was very slightly, and didnt detract from my enjoyment of the show.I am off on Friday night to the Playhouse theatre in Edinburgh to see We Will Rock You,my sister seen it last week and said I am going to really enjoy it.If it comes your way,Mamma Mia is well worth seeing,it was much better than the film.
  23. Good Afternoon Everyone, Just starting to get dark outside, weather these last few days extremely miserable, wet and windy,in fact the West of Scotland yesterday had gales of over 100mph,loads of trees fallen and overturned high sided trucks blocking roads.Out gyming and swimming today,I have a new friend at the gym,his name is Jim,he is 78 years young,a widower, which I presumed for years, but he only lost his wife a couple of months ago,he was in the kitchen making a cup of tea, when he returned to the living room to pass the tea to his wife, she just slumped over in her seat, she had had a heart attack.Well Jim and I go through our routine together gym and then to the pool,Jim dos'nt swim so while I am doing my lengths Jims in the in the sauna and steam room. After showering and changing we go up to the reception area and share a coffee and a bleather,Jim always passes me a chocolate biscuit,in fact a couple of days ago he had to leave early to go into Glasgow,he left a chocolate biscuit for me at my locker. No wonder its taking me so long to lose some lbs. Jennifer phoned mid afternoon yesterday to cancel her dinner with us,as she was going to see a puppy thats for sale, gosh I have forgotten the breed, think its French, two words? bijou?.Well it cost £500,blooming heck, seems I have to dog sit Thurdays as both Chris and Jennifer are out all day and evening, they have named the dog Dodger.I told Jennifer I was looking for a baby, not a dog.I had to cancel Jennifer and Chris for dinner today, everything was at the ready table set, potatoes and veggies on the cooker, steak pie waiting to go into the oven, what could go wrong?Sally of course, decided an alternative day for herself.I visited the butcher this afternoon and bought a lovely piece of Scottish Brisket Beef for tomorrows dinner with Dot and Jim ,I really hope I dont have to cancel again. Hi Lillian, sorry about your loss of Johny and Jacci,I remember one of my work colleagues some years ago whilst on holiday in Spain, failed to wake up from her sleep, she was in perfect health, mid forties, her death was recorded as Sudden Death Syndrome.I am so pleased to hear you are having a great time in New Orleans,oh I so want to visit that city. Hi JudyKW,I am so sorry that this chemo regime has been so protracted, wishing it will come to end soon as.Its a shame you could'nt travel with Stan, please pass on to him my best wishes for a safe trip and return. Bye for now everyone, now whats for dinner?
  24. Hi Fred, Good to see you,I do wish you and Kasey a wonderful 2012.Congratulations to Kasey on her seventh anniversary, heres to many more.
  25. Hi JudyKW, Thanks for trying,ye gods, imagine me thinking its Wednesday,I promise you its not through drink,i have just got a bit confused, this senile dymensia can be a bit of a nuisance at times.
