Rick
Its pretty cloudy and about 50 degrees, we are just waiting with our fingers crossed that it doesnt rain... Even conflicting weather reports whether the rain will be here this evening or tomorrow.. I sure hope that it waits. Katieb has worked really hard on this and dont want her to have the same rain and cancellation like at Arbor Days. Rick

BeckyCW
Aaaargh! I hope weatherchannel.com is wrong... I just looked and it said it's raining in Dallas. Of course it says it's "fair" here, and it's very cloudy, so... let's hope for inaccuracy! Katie & Rick, I really, really hope you're having a terrific event, not wet, not cold, well-attended, and nothing but a great success! KatieB
Thanks guys, Becky was right....DOWNPOUR on and off...which practically killed the event...but the band showed and played on and on and were just great. My family was so supportive thru it all and had nothing but uplifting things to say to me...even in the rain my brother dressed up as a clown and tried to flag passing cars in the rain, holding up a sign.. Our huge LCSC banner was out for all to see. Debi came all the way from OK. and Cheryl and Jack drove in too and surprised me! My neighbor, who recently lost her husband to sclc and their 8 yr. old son came too and that was also a heartwarming surprise. We turned it into a reunion instead of an awareness event and we celebrated LIFE and being together. And we light a candles when the night turned black, and we honored all those that we have lost. In our efforts to fundraise in front of grocery stores and pass out flyers at the hospitals, department stores and local businesses and the PSAs that were given to us - albeit late at night--...I do believe we got the word out that this is LC Awareness Month. There was so much time and effort into this and I just wish it would have worked out in the end. Oh well, we had a great time and I would do it all over again. Thank you all for your encouragement and support.
BeckyCW
Oh, Katie, I'm so sorry about the rain. It does sound like your efforts were a success -- just in a different way from what you had intended, I guess. Glad you got to see Debi and Cheryl & Jack... I hope you've all dried out by now and have some happy memories of the day. Dag nab it, I just don't know what else to say! BeckyCW
