ColleenRae
Great story, Terri! Thanks for sharing! I had no idea who the faces behind immuno-therapy were, so this was a really interesting read. What perseverance, commitment and personal attachment he's had in this...
Robert Macaulay
Excellent story i like these statement he makes. Because there were three pillars of cancer therapy — radiotherapy, surgery and chemotherapy — and now there’s a fourth. He added, “What it takes to kill some tumor cells and let the immune system do its thing is for radiotherapists and the chemotherapy people and the small-molecule people to say, ‘We don’t need to kill every last cancer cell. We can drop the amount, the duration and the therapy.’ ”

LexieCat
It's worth reading the stories linked to in that article, as well. And for anyone interested in learning more about the faces behind cancer research, check out this book: https://www.amazon.com/Emperor-All-Maladies-Biography-Cancer/dp/1439170916/. It's fascinating, and a real page-turner. They also made it into a 3-part miniseries on PBS, which is also excellent.
