    1095 days

Oh, Shirley! I just love you so much and know what a hard time this must be for you right now. These dates really do kick us in the butt. Every year, we seem to think we'll be able to cope with the next year better but it always seems to hit us hard. I know how very much you and Randy were...and will always be. Things change, life goes on, different people become a part of our lives but...true love never dies.
  13. LOL, Geri. Sometimes I think Maxine and I are twins!!!

    THANK YOU ALL

Sue, I think you are such a brave lady! Just keep on fighting and we'll keep on praying for you! Missy is such a wonderful daughter and the two of you are so blessed to have each other. Please know that you're in our hearts and prayers every day!
  16. Missy, I'm so very sorry to read this news. You know, the doctors never really know just how much time is left. Just make the most of what time you have and don't waste it by counting off days or weeks. It sounds like Sue is doing a great job of dealing with this news. I'll be keeping both of you in my prayers.
  17. Since my youngest son is getting married in three months, it seems like everything is about weddings right now for me. What is the one thing that stands out the most in your mind, when you think of your wedding day?
  18. Linda, I did go to a support group that was held by the Hospice that cared for Dennis for his final two weeks. Like you, I felt that I had been doing almost "too well." I think I was trying to be strong for everyone in the beginning. I found the support group really helped me to get in touch with my feelings. I learned that I didn't have to be strong for everyone else and learned that was the time to expect strength from others. Please let us know how the group goes for you.
  19. Deb....I know you hate cooking but you must have some family members that have some great recipes!!! How about that wonderful aunt of Alan's that takes such good care of him when he's visiting her??? Come on, gal. No excuses allowed here!!!!
  20. (((((((Peggy)))))))) As I read this post, I could remember each of the other posts, almost like they were yesterday. I think you and I were able to "connect" because Don and Dennis had so many identical character traits. Honey, I can certainly understand why you hate August! It's definitley allowed! I am so glad that you are now able to talk about all of this. My advice...talk to anyone that will listen. I think the more pain we are able to release from our hearts and souls via words, the more we will heal. You know, I just can't help but picture Don, Dennis and lots of other loved ones from this MB all celebrating Don's birthday together this year!!!
  21. Isn't that an awesome song and performance? I have chills every time I hear the song. I will never forget 9-11. What a terrifying day that was for all Americans. Diamond Rio just has a knack for performing some very special songs with very deep meaning. "I Believe" is one of their songs that I alos hold in my heart.
  22. ((((((((((((Malou)))))))))))) It's so very good to hear from you!!! Your strength and faith in God is surely a great testimonial for many of us. When lung cancer touches our lives, we truly are forever changed. I am so glad that you have something to put your heart into that will help to ease your pain. Please keep in touch and know that you are in our thoughts.
  23. Ditto.....Ditto!!!!
